| I would have to say this is my favorite Thai movie of all time.
From a technical aspect, it is of a similar standard to Hollywood movies.
The actors and their acting is first rate.
The storyline is quite good, but the transfer of Tong's family back to Bangkok from Chiang Mai just happens without any explanation.
One minute they are supposed to have moved to Chiang Mai to look for Tong's lost sister, then without explanation, the next minute Tong is back to school in Bangkok with a girlfriend he must have had for some time.
I also find it a bit odd that the father, even though an alcoholic, could not recognize that June was not his real daughter.
But despite those two issues, I love this movie and the relationship between Tong and Mew.
Both Mario Maurer and Witwisit Hiranyawongkul are great in their parts, and you feel a real warmth towards both of them.
I have the DVD on order here, even though I have a clone I bought on Singapore EBay as the real thing. It works fine, but I look forward to having the real thing.
HKFlix is the cheapest vendor of this movie, and many others.
Order your copy here, and you will be so glad you did.
Believe me, thousands of Thai movie buffs around the world have been so frustrated not being able to get this movies with English subtitles, and now, it is nearly here. |
