| TAI SENG DISTRIBUTED MEI-AH DVD IS BAD! (237 views) | AUTHOR / DATE |
| There are two lines of Chinese text watermarked right across the middle of the picture for the entire duration of the main title. DO NOT BUY THIS CRAPPY DISC!! | PE62348 4/30/2009 8:19 AM |
| #2 | I thought it was just my copy ? Still this is a great movie. | Black Dragon 5/5/2009 9:00 PM |
| #3 | I'm really surprised Mei Ah would release something like that. That is indeed lame. | Choco 5/6/2009 9:11 AM |
| #4 | Some of their old releases are terrible. I believe this is one of them. | City On Fire 5/8/2009 1:54 AM |
| #5 | You are probably right COF. This discussion has been touched on previously. I believe it was Choco who said the company had greatly improved the quality. I have not purchased any Mei-ah in the last four - five years so I have no personal knowledge on new releases. I do know that the distributor mentioned is not apparently interested in customer service and no doubt are still selling whatever they have no matter the condition. I have a long history with them and that is my personal observation as a customer. Hopefully others have not had the same experience. PE - you could try to get them to replace the movie couldn't hurt. And thanks for the warning!

| #6 | When I got The Mission from Netflix, I noticed that the watermark was there and found it really annoying. I loved the film, but didn't buy it because of that. I thought I read though, that later releases were fixed? I could be wrong. Maybe someone else could confirm or deny that? | AC47867 5/8/2009 7:15 PM |
| #7 | I'm sorry but don't expect much out of Hong Kong companies. While The Mission is a lowmark, you casn't sit around to wait for what you deem is a perfect edition. What I've learned is to learn to put subtitles on dvd's myself so in the case of The Mission, it was released in France with a beautiful print. | So Good... - Hong Kong DVD Movie Reviews 5/10/2009 1:01 AM |
| #8 | The Mission is at the top of my list for the Dragon Dynasty treatment (along with Tsui Hark's Blade). As far as I know there isn't a copy out there that doesn't have some type of watermark or rapid fire subs or cropping instead of LB.
Johnnie To has been getting more love with his DVD releases lately and his Red Circle re-make is semi-high profile with an international cast. Let's hope it drums up some interest and forces someone to put out a decent release of it. | Garvinstomp 6/21/2009 5:05 AM |
| #9 | As long as Tai Seng releases all the Don "The Dragon" Wilson and Jeff Speakman titles, I will forgive them for this one. | MS10197 7/6/2009 8:14 PM |
