| QUALITY OF PAN MEDIA VERSION 3 - HAPKIDO AKA LADY KUNG FU (248 views) | AUTHOR / DATE |
| I was curious of the quality of the 3rd Panmedia release of this film ever since I realized the incredibly long tease of waiting for the Dragon Dynasty release was over. The eventual disappointment of knowing it is "probably never going to happen anytime soon" is settling in so I was wondering how the actual video quality of this dvd is b/c the specs just mention the audio... I have 2 copies(both bought from here) of this movie and both of them are crap. The Hong Kong Legends one isnt even in print anymore. Help me out please.... | DL1749 3/8/2009 12:41 PM |

| #3 | first I heard of this not being released. Is Dragon Dynasty done for? | zoomddy 3/11/2009 9:35 AM |
| #4 | Dragon Dynasty's in some kind of self-imposed exile lately, along with their parent company, Genius. They seem to have fired some if not many of their sales reps and cancelled a lot of their upcoming releases, and they no longer reply to product inquiry emails. Whatever they're doing, I would think their fans would appreciate a bit more transparency about it. | Choco 3/11/2009 10:46 AM |
| #5 | That stinks. But, I guess being a Weinstein company, we should have seen it coming | zoomddy 3/11/2009 2:53 PM |

| #7 | The picture is very nice quality, anamorphic widescreen with sharp images and bright colors. There is a tiny bit of color bleeding on the titles, but it's hardly noticeable.
There are 4 audio tracks: the original english dub is pretty funny but has lots of hissing and pops. There's a new English dub that sounds much nicer technically, but is not as dopey as the original dub. Both the Mandarin and Cantonese soundtracks are mono but very clean sounding.
The only extra is the original trailer, which looks pretty decent though it doesn't appear to havebeen as cleaned up as the feature. In the absence of the Dragon Dynasty release, this is probably the best you can get. | TheDenizen 3/11/2009 4:05 PM |
| #8 | thanks for the replies guys.. especially denizen.. - i appreciate the info on the quality cuz i might actually buy it now.. but the idea of buying a 3rd version(all panmedia) from the same site is laughable but ive done dumber things... | DL1749 3/13/2009 1:12 AM |
| #9 | I just noticed that I said the Cantonese and Mandarin audio are mono. I actually meant that they are in stereo, but taken from a mono source. Slight difference, still very good. :) | TheDenizen 3/13/2009 5:33 AM |
| #10 | It appears that both Chinese tracks are the same Mandarin track, one is just more clear. Funny that it says Cantonese on the menu. | cacomistle 8/15/2009 12:10 AM |
