| With its Super Cool cover, juicy trailers, and staring HK latest Kung fu superstar Jacky Wu Jing. "Legendary Assassin" was pretty lame. Compared to his recent Pictures "Invisible Target", "Fatal Move", "SPL" and etc.. This film was a below average B-movie. I guess it's what your supposed to get from a first time director . What did you think about it? | Black Dragon 2/10/2009 7:52 AM |
| #3 | It pains me to agree with you both on this one. LA had a very high spot on my 'most anticipated' list from the moment I heard about it. Like the others, after watching SPL more times than I can count I was expecting something decent. But this film could not have been more average.
I'm not one to need a strong story to enjoy an action film. But this story was so weak it was painful. Watching the forced exposition of all these additional characters that had no real part in the overall story was painful. The "jealous policeman" added exactly nothing to the movie. Those police station scenes lasted forever.
The opening fight scene was decent, but not really very good for an assassin. Hardly legendary. The second was probably the most creative with the thugs at the restaurant. But the fight was with people that had very little to do with the movie, so it felt tacked-on a bit. The final scene was abysmal. It was pretty much just kick-kick-kick-kick.
