I threw this on last night to see what it was like and ended up watching it into the late hours. A little melodramatic, perhaps – but that's par for the course with Korean films. Lovely cinematography, with some jaw-dropping images. Like "A Tale of Two Sisters," it's a sad story, with elements of horror (though some of the most horrific scenes have nothing to do with the supernatural). Indeed, in spite of several scary scenes, I tend to think of it more as a moral tale or fantasy, rather than a horror film.
Needless to say, LOTS better than any of the crap coming out of the U.S. these days.
Can anyone verify the extras have English subs? I watched the Korean edition (which hkflix doesn't sell, for some mysterious reason) and the extras had no subs at all.
Glad you dug the film, PGW. Yes, the DVD has English subs on the extras. We manually verify the specs on almost all our Malaysian DVDs. As for the Korean DVD, we don't carry it because it's too expensive and so effectively obsolete given the availability of this much cheaper Malaysian version.
