| WHY THIS TITLE FOR FIRST SB BLU-RAY (528 views) | AUTHOR / DATE |
| This is the first SB title i've seen in Blu-ray,so why couldn't they put a better title like invincible shaolin or eight diagram pole fighter? | Bravearcher72 10/21/2008 4:18 PM |
| #2 | Sorry I didn't see Opium fighter on Blu-ray, A much better title for Blu-ray | Bravearcher72 10/21/2008 4:31 PM |
| #3 | Whatever order they come out in, here's to more of 'em soon! | Choco 10/21/2008 5:00 PM |
| #4 | Ya I was waiting for this day to come, I almost have all my SB titles on IVL, now I have to collect them on Blu-ray. Oh well | Bravearcher72 10/21/2008 5:07 PM |
| #5 | I have never been a big fan of Fu Sheng, because a huge part of his body of work is filled with HK-style slapstick comedy, which I hate. However, the movies that aren't filled with that crap are very good and this movie is a perfect example of how good Fu Sheng could be. This is one of his better flicks in my opinion.
As for why this is the first Blu-Ray SB release, I can't answer that one, but I do agree I would rather have a better title such as Heroes of the East and Five Superfighters or some of the Venoms films such as Masked Avengers or The Magnificent Ruffians. | MS10197 10/21/2008 7:19 PM |
| #6 | Yeah, man... this is just the start. As long as they sell good, other titles will follow quickly. Choco, any chance of screen shots of this blu-ray quality, compared to the DVD version? I'm super curious. I'm sure a screen shot won't represent its full glory, but at least we can see the difference between a DVD screen shot. When the Blu-ray is released, that is. =) | City On Fire 10/21/2008 10:08 PM |
| #7 | Other than possible better quality than DVD and possible English language included, are there any other features the DVD version doesn't have? | MVR1950 10/28/2008 8:08 PM |
| #8 | Details are still unconfirmed by the manufacturer, but they appear to both have the same features (and both will have the same language options). I think it's just a quality issue with the BD. | Choco 10/29/2008 9:17 AM |
| #9 | I am definitely a Fu Sheng fan, Life Gamble however would not have been my first choice. Hopefully as City On Fire stated and with the enthusiasm of Choco, many more classics will see Blu-Ray! | Sgt. T 10/29/2008 7:18 PM |
| #10 | Well it seems my player/recorder has been damaging my DVDs and yeah the SB ones. Looks like I'll have to replace them and hopefully they'll all be Blue Rays. | MVR1950 11/8/2008 5:10 PM |
| #11 | Dont expect BCI to release any more Shaw titles. This and Opium and The Kung Fu Master is it for now. | ol skee 1/23/2009 6:58 PM |
| #12 | I think there's a good chance that their director of acquisitions will find himself a job at another label and will hopefully be able to bring some of these exciting titles (and some of the ones Disney/Miramax sat on for years) with him. | Choco 1/23/2009 9:52 PM |
| #13 | MS10197 Fu Sheng has never been a favorite but even though he never trained as a fighter he really could fight. And I agree the comedy usually was a nuisance. But why release those 2 as Blu Ray? Certainly those two have not been the top favorites of the fans, nor can I believe that's all they have to work with. Any thoughts?

| #14 | MVR1950 - So sorry to hear your dvd's were damaged. If you don't mind telling - how did this happen?
Hope you are able to replace them soon. | Cinema! 8/2/2009 8:16 PM |
