Jungle Horrors [3-Disc Set] (product link) Horror / Thriller A box set sure to offend many! Three jungle films of varying quality. The best is Eaten Alive with a clever Jim Jones style plot and good pacing. The worst is Massacre in Dinosaur Valley, dull, dull, dull. Jungle Holocaust doesn't do anything new with the cannibal film but delievers on what fans expect.
The Fruit Is Swelling '97 (product link) Erotica / Fantasy This Category 3 take on Big had funny moments and a decent pace. On to what most of us want to know about. Shu Qi appears only in a bit role and leaves her bikini on (boo hiss!). Five other actresses do disrobe, four of which are definite improvements over many of the stars of these type movies.
The Awful Dr. Orloff (product link) Horror / Thriller Jess Franco's first take on the Eyes Without a Face storyline is one of his best movies. This film was made when Franco still was trying. The black and white photography captures a creepy ambiance and the direction is far better than one would expect.
Alucarda (product link) Horror / Thriller Screaming women, blood, pyrokensis, anti-Catholicism, and $1.95 surrealsim, Alucarda is a must see. Made by a member of the Panic Theatre movement, this is the ultimate nun movie.
