Enter The Phoenix (product link) Drama / Crime About the funniest HK (or any other) film I have seen this year, and I purchase quite a lot of films. If you love Stephen Chow's earlier nonsense work, then this is for you. It features a number of Chow sidekicks as a matter of fact. But besides the funny gags, including maybe the funniest I have ever seen, involving barging in on someone in the toilet. There is very slick action here as well with many terrific performances. Why Stephen Fung isn't one of the top few directors in HK I do not know.
Zebraman (product link) Comedy / Action/Adventure Wonderful film for your inner child. The CG Hollywood ending though thrilling seemed out of place to me and tacked-on for box office. But that is nitpicking, this film is a joy for little kids and big kids alike, in the same vein as "Star Wars", "Spider-Man" and "Kung Fu Hustle".

The Deadly Breaking Sword (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Another amazing Ti Lung fantasy swordplay film. Beautifully filmed, terrific action and intrigue and Ti Lung kicking ass.
The Chinese Boxer (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure A very entertaining Jimmy Wang Yu classic. We've seen this plot dozens of times, and this isn't necessarily the best rendition of Chinese Vs. Japanese aggressors, but Jimmy Wang Yu is such a majestic badass.
First Shot (product link) Crime / Action/Adventure Ti Lung does "The Untouchables" and proves why he is perhaps the most commanding presence in Hong Kong cinema history. Terrific performances, a bit of a hokey take on "The Untochables", terrific action and Ti Lung in one of his final top billing starring roles.
Fight Among The Supers [DOUBLE FEATURE] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Real treat to see Lu Feng playing a good natured character instead of his typical double crossing uber villian. Not much on kung fu but venom fans will love Lu and Chiang in these good natured roles. I was shocked that Lu Feng never became a big star outside of the venoms. NO ONE I SAY NO ONE could or can today match him with weapons.
