Invincible Monkey Fist (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure The quality was bad, the action was very slow paced, and how does an Indonesian bandit become a master of the Iron Palm?? I think someone was reaching when they made this one. Not a good movie for Chen Kuan Tai. His monkey fist was great since he is a monkey fist practioner.
Sword In The Moon (product link) Action/Adventure / Drama It was a good movie, the fighting was fast paced, and it had a wonderful story line, however it wasn't as good as "Bichunmoo" as the Variety article suggests.
Blade Of Fury (product link) Martial Arts / Swordplay/Sword(s) This movie was awesome. The action was well paced, and the swordfighting was top-notch, the kung fu fights were great as well. It was alot of wire-fu, but the actors displayed great martial arts skill as well.
The Shaolin Avengers [1976] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I enjoyed this movie. I know some may not like the guy but I like Fu Sheng, and Chi Kuan Chun you get the feeling everytime you see this guy fight onscreen he isn't playing around. He is probably one of the most intense actors. In all the movies I have seen him in, he never smiles. I had purchased Druken Monkey and he made the perfect villian, his display of Hung Gar Boxing onscreen is probably the best by far. it still gets 4 and 1/2 out of 5....and stop hatin on Fu Sheng....
Avenging Warriors Of Shaolin (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure What more can you say? It's the Venoms. All of the Venoms use weapons, with the exception of Sun Chien. Even Lo Meng had a tiger fork going at it with Lu Feng. I have searched for this movie for years and it was well worth the time waiting, and well worth the money spent. I would give it 5 stars, however there are only two movies that will ever get 5 stars in my book: "Enter The Dragon" and "Five Deadly Venoms".
What can I say about this movie. I enjoyed Shaolin Temple 1 and I enjoyed Shaolin Temple Kids as well, but this movie blows the lid off of both films. From start to finish the martial arts displays were phenominal. I haven't seen jet any better. Yue Sing Wai, to me this guy rates in the top 5 bad guys of kung fu films. He rates as a bad buy with the likes of Lo Lieh, Wang Lung Wei, Chan Sing, Lu Feng, and then Yue Sing Wai. I enjoyed him in Yellow River Fighter as the hero, but as a bad guy he is simply the man. His double handle double edged sword technique is the best hands down. And Yue Hoi his mantis fist....POWERFUL. I guess three times is a charm because their display in this movie overshadows Shaolin 1 and 2. Shaolin 1 and 2 are pure appetizers compare to Shaolin Temple 3, and I didn't know that Lau Kar Leung (Liu Chia Liang) choreographed this film, the fights were tight, crisp, with powerful movements. Yuen Woo Ping, and Ching Siu Ting are dynamic choreographers, but if you want tight traditional fights without the wire fu Lau is the best. 5 out of 5.
