Bio: collect and watched every good kung fu movie out there, i start watch kung fu film when i was 3, so 20 years experience, collect over 1200 kung fu dvd. i call my self the true kung fu movie collector!i always tell the truth about kung fu film, that's the reason we all here, bruce lee is not a god, donnie yen is really try hard, 36 chamber is not the best classic........., be honest to your self, do you really think a film is great? or because every one else say it's good? i like to be myself!
The film is a mess, it has talent but it does not go anywhere. As a reviewer you should write a detail description on why you enjoyed it because this review is inaccurate & a disgrace to true film fans.
Im still waiting to see a copy with good English subtitles to comment on the plot. The action is pretty good. Jija does the moves very well but her power is not believable. She needs to work on delivery of impact but other than that action is pretty good.
as with my previous review, lot of people do not agree or hated, because i tell the truth, sure i never say bruce lee is not great, but he is just bit over rated as it seems, and not all of his film are good, that is the truth, like fist of fury, big boss, and way of the dragon, compare the fight to todays standard, it's very slow, the acting is cheap, and there is really nothing special. but bruce lee did show some good action in game of death and enter the dragon, that's why i give an higher rating. my piont of view is , bruce lee is an good martial art actor, he has no real fight record like mike tyson or mahamade ali, and beside of his movie, he proofed nothing that he can fight for real. movie and real fighting are so different, any one can act in kung fu film with little bit of training. but i never say bruce lee is not good, i always like him, but we should all treat him just like an normal human being, not an god, and he is never the toughest person ever lived, thanks!

Fist Of Fury [1972] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This is Bruce Lee's worst film, totally stay away, the fight is slow and boring, totaly overrated. I was fooled by those so-called reviews, this movie is a big rip-off of "Fist Of Legend", watch the Jet Li version is way better, the original is always the best. I totally agree Bruce Lee is a a good actor, but not a real fighter. He is so small, and he has proved nothing in real fighting. Bruce Lee is always the most overrated person in the world, he is not the best as it seems!

You are correct to a great extent. The movie is worth seeing, but it is mainly Americans who have seen few or none among Chinese movies who are overly-impressed with Bruce Lee. I am from China, and I have seen thousands of Chinese movies, so I can judge.
I almost agreed with this review simply because I couldn't quit laughing at it. Anyone who thinks the Jet Li version is the original should probably pick another genre of film to watch.
Remember this film was made according to the production standards of the seventies. It was not the greatest but it was a pretty decent old school production introducing us to Bruce Lee!
You have no logic. This movie is amazing and so is Bruce Lee. And didn't Bruce Lee prove that he was an excellent martial artsist and one of the most physically fit people ever? And didn't he pretty much create the Jeet Kun Do?
Your belief that an original film is a ripoff of a remake from twenty years later is a serious problem. Bruce Lee had legitimate martial arts experience - a grounding in Wing Chun developed into his own Jeet Kun Do - rather than artistic Wushu.

I rate "Game Of Death" as Bruce's best film, this one is okay, but the rest is just rubbish. Bruce did show some good action, but not much. Compare thie movie to "Ong-Bak", it just total suck, why Bruce become so famous? I reckon is becuase he starts his film career early. If he tried to do his film today, he would not stand a chance compared to Jet Li or Jackie Chan!

Another classic mike lee review. Given your previous reviews, I am not too surprised that your favorite Bruce Lee movie is one in which they had to use a stand-in in some scenes.
Now Mike, If Bruce Lee were here today making martial arts films in his prime, I believe they would be as good or better than films starring Jet Li and Tony Jaa. This particular film had a good story with the good fights!

Again Mike, this film is a product of the seventies. Bruce Lee directed, and did the fight choreography. Besides the great Chuck Norris fight, Bruce turns in an awsome comic performance!

You are correct. Bruce lee is over-rated, and this is hardly his best film. I am from China and saw thousands of Chinese movies. This one is not memorable.
This was not Bruce Lee's best but again the time frame is 1970-1971 when this film was made. Bruce Lee's charisma carries this film and makes it a classic as his first full-fledged martial arts movie for Western audiences!

you know what, I did actually like this film. Fun and stupid!
This film was an early try at completing what might have been Bruce Lee's greatest film! The scenes with the real Bruce were not even complete. Its worth a look, there is a good Sammo and Bob Wall fight, but this is not a four and a half star film!
But you gave the box set 4 stars- I think your trying to make people mad or your confused about the star rating. Anyways your reviews are funny at least I enjoy them ya know.
The film Bruce Lee intended to make doesn't exist. This reconstruction/reimagining/re-something is nice to see, but it can't compare with his completed films.

She got way better skills than those so-called expert, and she kicks more butt alone than Steven Seagal's total career. I just love this film, my favorite at moment!

Hahahaha, it is amazing that someone can claim Bruce Lee is horrible, despite the fact he invented a revolutionary martial art, and then claim the Twins, who have no training or skill at all, are experts. I am convinced his reviews are a joke.
SPL: Sha Po Lang (product link) Crime / Drama This film is very similar to "Flash Point", but I think this is the better one of the two. The story drags on a bit, but the action was great. Donnie Yen is clearly getting old, and he likes to show off a bit too much. We all know he is great, worth collecting!

I actually mainly agree with you, I'm just putting no because everyone disagrees with you. This was a great movie and I rate the fight between Donnie Yen and Jackie Wu Jing as one of the greatest ever.

Sure, I watched the manga and anime version, it's great, but the live action version sucks because they don't have the budget to make the special effects look real, and the actors look so fake. I can't believe how dumb this movie is. As I said, if you have no brain and still believe in fantasy and fairy tales, then this movie suits you perfectly. But if you are a hardcore kung fu action fan like me, stay away from it at all costs. I think that's why we're here in the first place!

In fact NO WAY, if you have no brain then you wouldn't notice the great storyline that this movie offers. Man, this movie has everything. Each to their own. But shit, you missed a magic movie here.
I'm not sure if I would call this a ninja movie and I could see where some hardcore kung fu fans could dislike it, but I felt this was well done and quite interesting. I couldn't help feel like I was watching a superior version of the X-Men
Fist Of Fury: Sworn Revenge [SE 2-Disc Set] (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Highly recommended. Yeah, it's a TV series movie. So what? It's cheap, but Donnie really shines in this film. They were on a really tight budget, but they have so many great fight scenes, it's way better than some so-called kung fu flicks today. Get this series, you will like it!

The action choreography is about as good as one can achieve in a modestly-budgeted television series. No, it can't compare to a really good film: It isn't a film, but a pretty entertaining TV show.

Come on Mike, this is one of John Woos greatest classics along with the Killer! I loved this film, Chow Yun Fat and Little Tony were excellent in their portryals. Though you prefer the Killer, this film rates more than two stars!

This film was based on the French version called La Femme Nikita, the American version was called The Point Of No Return. I agree with you, this is by far the best version for this particular plot!

Do you use some sort of template to write your reviews? They are pretty much all the same. One would think after that much practice writing the same thing, you would become more comprehensible.

I thought the DC version was a big difference from the theatrical release. I've been a kung fu cinema fan for years and I truly believe this film really elevates the genre to new heights! Maybe its my love for positive and uplifting martial arts films

I've got every single film Jet Li made, but I'm going to stay away from this one. I must reluctantly agree - I liked the movie, but it had all of the flaws mentioned here. One generally goes to a Jet Li film expecting excellent martial arts, rather than gunplay. Most of his American films have shortchanged his physical abilities.
Flash Point (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts I reckon it's a letdown after "SPL". The story is completely boring, the fights don't start until the second half, but still very good action--not as good as the first. Donnie Yen still kicks ass, but they give me a feeling of trying too hard. I can't wait until "Ong-Bak 2" comes out--Tony Jaa still is the king of action, Donnie Yen could never match!

Donnie Yen, if unleashed, is an absolute killer. Yes this movie doesn't show off his best, but his speed and strength is sometimes scary and it just needs to be put in a movie that doesn't hold back. But, dude's getting older, and not much time left.
Invisible Target (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Action-wise, excellent, almost a 5 out of 5. Jason Wu is great, but the story really let it down. Some bit of acting really give me the feeling of trying too hard. It could be a simple story, but they make it so difficult. If the movie was 90 minutes instead of 130 minites, it could be a classic. But the excellent action makes up for it. Two thumbs up for the action director, I think he coud be the next Yuen Wo Ping. Highly recommended!
