The Tai Chi Master [2005] (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Martial Arts I liked this movie a lot. The movie was slow at first, but then I definitely got into it. Tai Chi has been done so many times, and every time there is a new stance or technique that I missed from the last movie. The main character truly is a student of Tai Chi and performs as though it is effortless. Very good movie. Good plot as well as the climax. Enjoyed it totally.
The Buddhist Fist (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "The Buddhist Fist" is a great movie in that over the years it has stood along with the "The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin" and will be an all-time classic. The Buddfist Fist and Palm are two rare and deadly styles that require dedication and hard training, and it's a treat when it's put on film. I loved this movie.
The Master Killer Collection [3-Disc Set] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This collection of movies was good and worth every penny. Gordon Liu delivers acting and fighting in each movie and always steps up as an monk. He is dedicated to the preservation of Shaolin and humble to Buddha.
Dragon Tiger Gate (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I am a great fan of Donnie Yen and I was actually expecting this movie to wow me; but like SPL, this movie has let me down in that I'm wanting Donnie Yen to reproduce the style and grace he exuded on "Iron Monkey". His technique at delivering the precise attack at lightning speeds is what I am drawn to. The movie to me was slow and just had loops in it. Overall though the quality was good but the plot lacked. I'm also not sure about Donnie looking like he's in his middle 20's. I still scored it a 4 though.
Invincible Pole Fighter (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This film is great in the utilization of pole stance fighting. Gordon Liu plays his monk part quite well and understands what it takes to channel all his hatred and anger and produce unbelievable power in his training as well as his fight scenes. A true classic movie.
Dance Of The Drunk Mantis (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Another timeless classic. Great actors, great plot, great final scene. An incredible movie, a classic in my martial arts library.
The Hell's Wind Staff (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Fear the Hell's Stick. A great movie, and the final scene when they both take both legs and separate the villain...that was insane. I couldn't believe that was put on film. I slowed that scene just so I could see the entire thing. I'm crazy, but that movie was insane. The Rowing Oars technique was funny to me.
The Secret Of The Shaolin Poles (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I liked this movie, but I couldn't really make it better then what it should be. It didn't wow me, but at the same time the storyline was great, showing a young Wong Fei Hung and how his life was beginning to take shape.
Shaolin And Wu Tang (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Great movie--it doesn't get any better than Shaolin and Wu Tang. Gordon Liu is the greatest of his generation behind Bruce Lee. His display of the Shaolin arts is amazing. He makes you feel that training is seriously a way of life. His aggression throughout the movie and the final scene tells you how much Shaolin means to him. I love this movie to death.
The Snuff Bottle Connection [5-Disc Set] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure What can you say about this timeless classic? This movie is about one man, the villain whose relentless fighting and aggression gives me goose bumps. I've searched over for his movies because I enjoy him playing the villain roles. He's good at what he does. The movie was awesome.
Ways Of Kung Fu [Crash Cinema] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure When I was seven years old I saw this movie with my dad and immediately fell in love with it. I couldn't tell you why, but it was my first taste of kung fu movies and it was cool. Years later I'm still in love with this movie. The plot: protagonist kills the evil that plagued his temple. Incredible styles within the movie and the ending was incredible. I love this movie.
The World Of Drunken Master (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I find the drunken style of martial arts one of the most unpredictable and deadly styles. In this movie it's a great reflection of two people who learned and kept the name of drunken kung fu alive. Jack Long is another of my favorite actors and whenever he and Mark Long are in a movie together you know you're in for a great kung fu treat. It's an instant classic in my collection.
Seven Swords (product link) Martial Arts / Swordplay/Sword(s) This movie gets my top rating for excellence in everything. This movie, without a doubt, is the best movie--if not one of the best movies--ever made. Donnie Yen, Jet Li and a few other actors in this movie are incredible. The swordplay was wonderful and the plot... It's in constant rotation with a few other timeless classics. This is a timeless classic.

I totally agree with you. Seven Swords is out of question a multi-dimensional masterpiece of cinema and a wonderful redefinition of the wuxia pian on film. For me its also the best movie ever made, and believe that i saw all kinds of great films.
Butterfly And Sword (product link) Martial Arts / Romance Vincent Zhao should have more roles. His display of the martial arts is crisp and refined, he's definitely a student of the arts. With that, the plot of this movie was great.
The Buddha Assassinator (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Whenever the storyline follows the revenge factor, you have me; and it's refreshing to see new actors. I can't really get their names right, but they display a great knack for the styles of martial arts. And the villains--or should I say villain--should be given their just respect because their tenacity with killing helps the protagonist fullfil his full potential. This movie was great.
The Avenging Eagle (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I enjoyed this movie. It was slow in the beginning, but the fight scenes were good. I loved the final battle. It's a definite top-20 in my book of videos to own.
The 7 Commandments Of Kung Fu (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I definitely want to commend this movie for a superb job displaying all styles, especially the mantis style. I'd put the mantis up against a lot of styles and believe it to hold its ground. With that being said, I enjoy watching Lee Yi Min display his wonderful skills. To me he is the grandfather of the comedic/serious kung fu acting style. I believe Jackie Chan patterned his style after him. But anyways, from top to bottom, I loved it: the plot, choreography; and the final scene was spectacular, delivering the heaven and sky technique with the mantis. It's a 5 in my book.
Deadful Melody (product link) Martial Arts / Fantasy "Deadful Melody" is without a doubt a 5 star type movie that goes out of it's way to ensnare your thoughts as well as your visions into a world that you've never captured. With its intricate color schemes shadowing the fear pulse-rating plot it clearly is a movie beyond its years. I love Brigitte Lin in this movie, she seems to capture the essence of her characters and really provide different emotions throughout. I'd recommend this movie to kung fu fanatics that want to add a classic to their library.
