Warrior Of Steel (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Chen Kuan Tai was the perfect choice for the lead in this violent actioner. He played a cocky, self-assured gangster trying to muscle the neighborhood to perfection. The fight scenes are well staged with lots of assorted mayhem: we have bludgeoning with steel pipes to go along with the hand-to-hand combat.
If you can handle kung fu and automobiles in the background, this is well worth the purchase. If you prefer swordplay, it's not for you.
The New One-Armed Swordsman [3-Movie Set] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure When I saw this in the movie theater I was blown away by the sheer amount of blood letting. It contains probably the most famous sword scene in any of these kinds of movies, the spectacular battle on the bridge leading to the castle. David Chiang and Ti Lung always seem to work well together, the viewer knows he or she is in for a quality experience when these two veterans of the kung-fu movies are both on board.
The Chinese Boxer (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Anyone my age saw this play U.S. theaters as "The Hammer Of God". It was an early entry in the burgeoning kung-fu movie craze. It was also one of the best, a very grim picture with no Jackie Chan-type antics, thankfully. Wang Yu is terrific, as usual, making a very believable skilled fighter hell bent on the revenge of his slaughtered school. Highly recommended to all fans of Shaw Brothers' epics.
