| The ending of the movie either allows you to have the choice of Tony's outcome or they are saving something for the sequel. The action is awesome, it gives variety instead of one-dimensional fighting.
A lot of people just expect Muay Thai from Tony, as if that is all he knows. Tony has already done a lot of Muay Thai from his previous movies, how many more Muay Thai moves can the guy bust out? If Tony does a lot of Muay Thai in this movie, then you people would probably say, "this is boring, I already saw it from his other movies."
Some of you say you've seen other styles before--yes, from the oldies, right? Ask yourself this, what action star TODAY gives you variety of fighting techniques? The only person I can think of is Donnie Yen in "Ip Man", showcasing Wing Chun, but Donnie is one of the oldies.
Tony's stunts involve a high level of skill while Jackie's stunts involve a high level of danger. I prefer the skill.
If you want a great storyline, then go watch a drama. I hate action movies that talk too much to build a story and then give one final action scene. The story in this one is just fine. |
