| This is a wretched film. The cover, which seems promising, is deceiving. The film utterly lacks suspense or horror. It instead attempts drama, but lacks intrigue or plausibility. The plot never resolves. The acting and script are terrible. And the English subtitles are poorly-translated and frequently incomplete or missing.
Basically, this is a lethargic drama about a doctor whose dedication to her work leaves her boyfriend to dump her, and whose dedication to her career also seems to have helped to cause the enigmatic death of some stupid kid who starved to death in the hospital because he refused food and medicine. Make sense of that if you can, it's the best I can offer. Oh, and don't worry about rewinding if you missed something--I think it's safe to say that at least a third of the footage in the film is then repeated in a flashback at least once, and in some cases up to five or more times. I mean that literally. Stop to consider the idea of a film which pads out its running time with rampant self-cannibalization before you buy this thing.
Of course, if you're like me and you'll sometimes buy films just for the sheer spectacle of seeing what should have been a forty-minute film double its running time by showing its own footage over and over again, then... here you go. |
