YOU ARE HERE:INTERACT HOME / RAMBO PART 5 PLEASE'S PROFILE
The Machine Girl (product link) Action/Adventure / Girls With Guns WOW, what a film. I don't think I have seen so much gore in a film like this one before. There are some crazy weapons in this movie, such as the flying guillotine 'chainsaw' and--who could forget?--the drill bra. If you like to see plenty of limbs get the chop and loads of blood squirting everywhere, then you've come to the right place. This is the beautiful Minase Yoshiro's debut film and she doesn't disappoint either. This is sure to entertain.
The film is over-hyped by many reviewers. I did say "Chocolate has good action scenes" It's for the action person. A good kung fu film has a good story 2 follow, so that were not trying to dumb down asian cinema. U need to watch more real fu films.
Gang Master (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Phenomenal!!! This movie is a hidden, underrated classic that I insist people to have in their collection; it's unlike any other martial arts movie with the same old snake, crane, Wing Chun, and tiger style. This movie brought different martial arts techniques; in addition, this movie offers an amazing story.

Bro this movie is hoooot !! The action is intense and the fight scenes are sick. The plot added to the enjoyment of the movie, One of my new favorites and I have 150 of the best, rare, and hard to find old school flicks. You definately slept on this gem.
Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai (product link) Art / Drama You people need to get aware. There was only one review for this and it sucked. Pay attention, folks, damn. Anyhow, this flick has cult king written all over it. I rarely disagree with the HKFlix evalutation of a movie but they were unreasonably hard on this one. This movie is actually quite brilliant and probably tied with "Throw Down" for best adaption of the samurai code and methodolgy to a contemporary setting in films.
"Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai" is evenly distributed entertainment that is filled with great performances from a diverse and talented cast, timeless quotes from the "Hagakure" (the book of the samurai), laugh-out-loud humor and good portions of gunfire. You won't be bored for one minute if you have any kind of an attention span at all. Intelligent, provocative, funny and highly entertaining I would recommend this film to anyone.

I'd rate this slightly lower, but you are basically correct.
JJ is a director you either love or you get put to sleep. I was expecting an action flick, to my first viewing was a disappointment. Once I removed my expectations and gave it more viewings I saw what it was doing. A cameo from RZA to top it off.
This movie tried to hard to explore a character's mind set. The movie didn't not go anywhere, 4 an art picture is was just bland. The movie as a whole was not clear on wht kind of story it wanted 2 tell-therefor the actors we're distracted in their roles
The film does entertain but it's mostly for the people that are into the samurai pictures. I love samurai movies but when they modernize it, I just can't get into that stuff.
The movie was all right, I think the performances were good- I just couldn't get that much involved with it though. The movie is not for everyone, I guess I came with high expectations going in. Tht is 1 mistake tht nobody should do in a pic such as this.
Hey thnks for the comments, your right I only had one review. I thought "Ghost Dog" was an entertaing pic but it's not my taste. The film is well shot but compared to "Throwdown" that was amazing.
i just read the comment you left kungfumaniac and i'm totally with you on that one i think the reviewer in question is fubar if you dont know what that means watch tango and cash.
I agree man. This is Jim Jarmusch's vision of the samurai code, the film is entertaining. Check out Jean-Pierre Melville "Le Samouraļ" it's a 1967 hitman film, the guy follows the code too. It's Johnnie To's fave film, & John Woo models his films from it.
Sadly, this sequel is nowhere near as sharp as the original, with Ekin Cheng replacing Andy Lau and Lau Ching Wan returning to his previous role. I'm normally not a fan of Ekin Cheng, but he does a decent job here, although he is still no Andy Lau. There is more comedy in this one, mainly provided by a sad gambling-addicted character played by Johnnie To regular, Lam Suet.
This film tries to be stylish but often comes up empty. It really has no resemblence to the original except for some of the charcters, a charity donation, and Lau Ching Wan enjoying a bucket of chicken after failing to capture his suspect. The previous ultra catchy theme song was also brought back and given a French sounding remix. There were some good scenes, such as the bike ride on a rainy night, but I thought the ending was a complete letdown and never fully understood the use of the bald eagle.
This is still a decent film, as Johnnie To appears to be incapable of making a total stinker. It can be recommended but never compared with the original.

I truly admire the first film, but this is a pointless, inferior rehash. Andy Lau's character engaged me, while Ekin Cheng's just made me restless.
Millionaires' Express (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts What a big disappointment--I mean, literally everybody and their momma was in this movie. And this movie was like this!!!! WOW, you got to see it to believe it. Because this film, especially at this budget, should have been the best movie in history for all martial arts movie lovers. This movie, as slow as it was, could not make up for the lost time of the final scene. I am very, very unhappy right now.

You are right on the spot MAN!!!! What a disappointment.
You gave Forbidden Kingdom 3 stars and this you only gave 2 and half. Are you serious? this movie is great, did you see the fight scenes. I don't think you saw the movie.
Whenever Millionaires' Express is brought up in a discussion among fu fans there is always 2 sides- people tht love it or hate it. I found the film fun & enjoyed the fights. The fights at the end are terrific. & the stars being silly is always nice.
I have to disagree. The last twenty or thirty minutes is one long, beautifully chaotic, explosive fight-fest. I found the filler between fights to be more compelling than most kung fu movies. I'll admit, some of the comedy antics are over-done.
Nope. You seem to be disregarding how well done and plentiful the action is toward the end. I also thought that there was enough humor and plot development throughout the film the keep things interesting.
I agree that the film was a let down, but I do think it had a lot of really cool fights and stunts in it. It was a bit bloated and meandering, but if you can look past that, I think you'll find the action to be quite enjoyable and noteworthy.
It was not as bad as zero stars but its not 4 star material either. It has a good cast with Chang Yi as the villain, and Ho Chung Tao ( Bruce Li ) as the Hero. It has entertainment value.
Chocolate [2008] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Bravo! Yet another Thai action blockbuster. Good action and good story. In terms of action, I wasn't bored any second during the whole movie. I thought about giving it 4 stars all the time, but after the last huge fight which looked like it was cut from a 2-D coin-op action arcade, and which made my jaw fall down, I give it four and half.
This give this movie 4 and half stars is crazy talk. Did you watch the movie? the whole movie? or just the action? The movie is just a bunch of drag queens and there was no main villian. Watch the movie again and then review.
i totally agree i rated this film 4 and half stars and i found the film really entertaining and i am someone who watch's plenty of fu flix probably too many.
I agree with everyone else man this movie was not good- You should watch more fu flix, because the action in this film is not amazing & the way you explain it to be a 2-D coin up game- well I would really like my money back. This film fails in everything.
It was an all right picture the story was lacking any character development- the audience I saw it with couldn't really identify with the hero. The action looks great but the action scenes all look the same except for the jumping from sign to sign chase.
The film was very sloppy for a martial arts film. Plus this is the man that made Ong-Bak & the protector, Chocolate just ruins his streak of fu films. The fights were all boring, the film lacks thrills & story. It was not a 4 and half star movie.
Chocolate [2008] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I've read a lot of mixed reviews about this film. Some say the plot is weak and others say the action is over the top and badly choreographed. Personally, I loved the film. I must admit the plot is weak to a certain extent, but the action definitely makes up for that. Jeeja Yanin's ability as a martial artist is incredible. She is without doubt in my opinion the best female action star I have seen in a long time. The last 25 minutes of the film is truly astonishing: the way she fights her way through 30 odd bad guys has to be seen to be believed. You can see as the credits roll there were a lot of injuries due to some crazy stunts, Jackie Chan style. I would say if, like me, you enjoyed "Ong-Bak" and "The Warrior King", then you should like this film. I just hope Jeeja Yanin goes on to make more films and not be a flash in the pan. What a waste of talent that would be.

The film is entertaining from start to finish. It isn't a retread of anything else, but something very good in itself.
4 and half stars thats crazy talk. The movie does deliver good action but other then that it's just very bad on storytelling. But give me a break and watch the whole movie again and then review.
the movie was alright, nothing really amazing- the movie could of showcase JeeJa Yanin talent in a much better fu flick. and it's not def. 4 and half stars
I would've given this film a 5 but the ending sucked!!! Also, Jackie Chan's past life character seemed more interesting than his present life character, due to the fact that he was actually acting when he was the general. When he was the architect, he was himself again. The action in this film is your typical Jackie Chan action, just less ridiculous stunts--I mean c'mon, the man's near 60, don't keep expecting "Police Story" action now, people. His acting was quite good, seeing as he can't tell the girl he loves her and has to express emotions through his facial expressions. It's an entertaining flick with a great combination of romance and action, but the ending needed some work. Overall, don't expect any more young Jackie Chan movies and start appreciating the man's more recent films where he shifts towards acting. He won't be around forever, so cherish his films and his time here while it lasts.

My problem is not that Jackie can't do action like DMII anymore, it is what he has replaced it with instead.
The ending ruined it for me. But I really did love the rat/glue factory fight scene it was fresh. Jackie Chan still has those great attributes with his facial expressions nobody can pull that off sicne Harry Lloyd, Chaplin, Buster Keaton & marx Brothers
Hand Of Death [1973] [5-Movie Set] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Not so bad. The fight scene were okay--halfway decent--but most of all, the flying and jumping made it less believable. Other than that, it was a pretty good movie.

60 minutes of kung fu and 30 minutes of useless plot. Stupido!
Pursuit Of Vengeance (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Not Ti Lung's best. I love him but I could not rate this higher. The second part of the movie is so-so with too much comedy/humour and I hated the end. The action is alright, above average, but nothing commemorable. Lo Lieh plays a secondary role and is a good guy. Worth watching once.

never seen the film huh? Well I highly recommend this film. Trust me you'll like it!
"Cloverfield" is a bit of a conundrum for me. I'll say right off the bat that I really enjoyed it and was quite surprised by how good it was. However, while watching, I kept feeling like the kinetic, shaky, "low-budget Handycam" cinematography was really holding the movie back. It wasn't succeeding in a clever, "we found a creative new way to make a movie" way but was rather getting in the way of the film's own potential. And I don't mean this in an overly critical sense, more in a "this movie was good enough to have been given a decent budget" sense.
So why didn't they just make a "normal budget" movie with grown-up cameras? I later learned that the low budget was the film's primary selling point to the studios in the first place. Apparently the filmmakers basically approached the studio and said, "we can make a great horror movie for $X". To which the studio said, "Rock on!". Which they did.
And in that context, "Cloverfield" is nothing less than a spectacular success. However, personally, I'd rather have seen these talented filmmakers given a bit more cash to play with. The film does wind up feeling like a bit of a tease at times, as it's clearly lacking a lot of the big, impressive shots that we want to see.
Plus, I have to deduct some points for the ridiculous decisions some of these characters make. I know that's par for the course in a horror flick, but come on. It's not impossible to make a horror movie that's smart too. A little bit more effort in the script would have gone a long way. But anyway...
There you have it. The final choice, as always, is yours to make. I say check it out.

Completely agree. Saw it again on blu-ray recently and enjoyed it even more. An excellent film.
There is too much positive reviews of this movie, it's not that amazing. The special effects were done great but I felt like this was a better version of the USA "Godzilla" movie and both films were not that good.
The City Of Violence (product link) Action/Adventure / Crime This movie was just too violent. I know the director tried to give his interpretation of what it looks like from the inside of violence, but I wanted to see action with style like every other good martial arts film. In my opinion, this movie was meant to satify the thirst of European moviegoers and not so much that of the American ones. So if you are American and you like European style filmmaking, well then this is the movie for you.

Ryu Seung-wan does an excellent job of differentiating South Korean action from Hong Kong martial arts. While I enjoy the choreography of the sort of HK films you prefer, the realistic action here impresses me very highly. It 's not what you want but...
this film wasnt all the european style and more crime and old school hong kong styled, which explains why the action is more raw and brutal and i believe that this film is actually not that violent
I did not understand your review, but I thought this was worth more than 3 stars. The story was good & the action scenes were nicely done for the low budget it had.
I didn't think this movie was suppose to satisfy European moviegoers or fans of Euro films. The director Seung-wan Ryoo is highly influenced by American films. The film shows a lot of American film references. I didn't find this film too violent ither
Project A [1983] (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy
One of the things I'm surprised by, looking back over the "three amigos" films I've loved so much over the years, is how much Sammo really shines. These films are most often thought of as "Jackie Chan films", which is admittedly a fair assesment. But while Jackie Chan's high-energy antics are inspired--and in fact revolutionized the Hong Kong film industry--Sammo's performances have a certain effortless charisma that may well stand the test of time even better than Chan's.
Here Sammo plays a criminal ne'erdowell who talks policeman Jackie into helping him smuggle a shipment of arms away from both a corrupt police force and a gang of bad guys. Yuen Biao plays a rival police officer who always seems to butt heads with Jackie, but eventually concedes that they are on the same team.
There are some truly classic action sequences here, primarily Chan-centric ones (which is, of course, to be expected). Of particular note is the bicycle chase/fight, and Chan's death-defying fall from a clock tower (a stunt which nearly cost him his life).
But this really brings me back to my original point. Though Chan's high-flying and boundary-breaking stunts often proved to be the most memorable aspects of his films from this era, they are often more noteworthy for their blatant dangerousness than for their contribution to the film as a whole. And in that context, Sammo, as second-banana, comes to the fore in this film as well as most of his others, with a solid, "meat-and-potatoes" performance that's just plain fun to watch--whether he's defying death, defying a mahjong table, or simply defying a healthy diet.

I agree with some of the sentiments expressed in your review and certainly feel that Sammo is naturally more talented, charismatic and amusing than Chan. I also feel however that Project A is nothing less than a five star film.
I've always enjoyed the contributions of Sammo and Yuen Biao in films generally considered to be JC films. This is no exception, without Sammo or Yuen Biao this film is not nearly as good.
I've seen this movie on the big screen, watched it about 50 times, and I understand all the craziness surrounding it, but I just don't see it as a 5 star flick.
This was an odd entry at the time, since Jet Li was turning out one crazy wire fu movie after another. Then, in 1994, this thing comes along. The fight choreography is good, but most of it doesn't have enough flair and intricate choreography, since it's a remake of a Bruce Lee film.
The power and skill of Jet Li is evident and it is one of his better flicks, but I enjoyed Jet's work in "Shaolin Temple 3" and "Once Upon a Time in China 2" better.
I can't give it a better rating since it comes down to the choreography, which becomes lackluster, especially during the final fight scene. I'm sure I'll get a lot of people disagreeing with this, but forget the hype and give it an honest look.
Everyone wanted this to be the greatest Jet Li film. I feel unsatisfied after viewing it in the same way that I'm unsatisfied with "Fearless". There's something about the camera angles and the staging of fights that I can't get over.

yes only because this film is overrated. sorry people!
My friend not only is the choreography outstanding in this film, but the acting from Jet Li and his supporting cast help make this the best remake of a Bruce lee movie ever made!!!
The movie has to be higher than a 3 star rating. It was enjoyable and it does offer great choreography. "Fearless" was great too, a good Jet Li fu outing.
Yeah there is a lot of debate over this film because of it's wire fu. For me I really enjoyed this film, the pacing was fast & intriguing. The choreography was done really well. But everyone has their differences on fu films, especially with this pic.
Sorry, but nope. The choreography here is top-notch, and the fact that it's a remake of a Bruce Lee film has no relevance to the quality of the choreography.
The fight choreography doesn't have enough flair and intricate choreography?!? 360's,540's,butterfly twists, Longfist, Tong Bei, Karate, Boxing. Dude, you need to enroll in a martial arts class of some kind very soon. Extraordinary misconceptions.
The Secret Rivals 2 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I really enjoyed this film better than I did the first one. "Secret Rivals 2" was better choreographically than the first film. I recommend part 2 as the better choice to buy because it was more entertaining.
Dude, both make a good collection. 4 & half is the same as 5 man, don't hate on my reviews because you don't know how to review or rate. If you can see not a lot of people think u review good. again both make a good movie.
Outpost (product link) Horror / Action/Adventure "Outpost" is a movie that has so much potential for the next action and horror genre, but in the end stupid cliches, poor dialogue, and unconvincing creepiness gives this flick a one and half stars.
"Outpost" has a decent plot, taking cues from the film "Predator", with a bunch of mercenaries on a mission to help a shady man in war-torn Europe. Like I said the story is decent but the action and scares were dull, lacking any thrills about a story dealing with testosterone because there are no women in this film.
But I do see an up and coming star, Ray Stevenson, he was a bad ass in this flick and a great actor, plus he is the new "Punisher". I wish I could say the same thing about the movie.
The Rebel (product link) Martial Arts / Drama I have seen this film 10 times amongst my family and friends. With its poor-looking DVD cover, everyone was a bit amused and unmoved about the film. But as soon as the flick started everyone was thrilled.
"The Rebel" is a high-kicking, in-your-face martial arts movie with some emotional love stuff for your girlfriend or wife. I was a bit suprised because the DVD cover looked like another lame 80's flick. But this movie is an eye-opener with great fights and action. The story sets up fast, we're introduced to the characters right away, and the direction is great.
This is a must-own film for anyone that loves martial arts or action. Get this flick now.

this movie was completely off the chain. Loved it!
Mad Detective (product link) Drama / Crime "Mad Detective" is a fantastic piece of work from Johnnie To and Wai Ka-Fai. Though this is a detective movie, there is no mystery in this flick. But what is notable in this movie is the mad detective, played extremely well by Lau Ching-Wan. He definitely sets the mood in the picture from creepy to pleasantly funny. "Mad Detective" is an enjoyable picture from beginning to end, the pacing was fast and to the point. Though there were no huge gigantic action pieces, it was still a blast to watch a crazy detective.

Lau is so good at what he does. Great to see him really get to show his chops in a character piece like this.
"The Mist" is a captivating tale about the human race. This is what happens when loads of monsters are unleashed in a small town, and you're stuck in a grocery store with an ultra-zealous nut and would be heroes.
Stephen King's short story shines in this movie, the adaptation is smooth and the open-ended short story has more of a well done ending for the viewers. I've always felt that Mr. King's earlier novels were done with more patience and effort than his later works. In my eyes Stephen King is a talented writer, shifting his genres from suspense, drama, romance and comedy. The genre changing is hard to accomplish but he does it with such ease.
The director of "The Mist" is Frank Darabont, this will make it his 4th outing with Mr. King. First was "The Woman In the Room", "Shawshank Redemption", and "The Green Mile." Darabont and King's collaboration is always amazing--the two work well together. Their movies seem to give something more to the audience.
"The Mist" is one of the best monster movies I have seen. The film did provide chills, and Thomas Jane's performances is very convincing. Plus Marcia Gay Harden's potrayal of Mrs. Camordy is priceless. The movie and short story is like a "Twilight Zone" episode. In a "Twilight Zone" episode you usually have a group of survivors clashing with a major diaster in the background. The film is entertaining and it did have one of the best endings I have seen in awhile.

I just saw this flick in Black & white the other day, it was amazing, it felt like a Twilight Zone episode.
Whenever I watch a Quentin Tarantino film, it's a journey through time. A Tarantino film can mash decades upon decades and still give a crowd-pleasing movie. The director is very talented, he mixes genres and puts cult icons among pop culture. There is only a handful of directors that can do it so well, and plus with today's generation; films are often remakes or adaptations of comics. Though Tarantino takes material from films that he enjoys, it feels different because he is not stealing the material. He's basically capturing the material in his own point of view.
It was April 2007 and I spent almost three and a half hours in a darkened theater room full of fan boys and girls. The event of this elbow-to-elbow show was "Grindhouse", one of the best movie experiences I have ever had. It's great to be in a room full of people that have the same taste in films, it makes any movie venture amazing. The film that most of the screaming fans were waiting for was "Death Proof", and it was a complete joy as soon as the title came to the screen. The film of course started with a foot fetish galore, because it is a Tarantino film.
There's is a lot of debate that this film has two halves, to me this is just another grind house experience. "Death Proof" starts off with disc jockey talk leading to bar talk. Plus a cameo from gore hound Eli Roth as a drunken partier. The film doesn't really kick into high gear until the presence of Kurt Russell's creepiness at the bar. His role of "Stuntman Mike" is funny, offbeat, and scary. The true stars of the film are muscle cars, a 1970 Chevy Nova and a 1969 Dodge Charger. The car gave Stuntman Mike's momentum to actually cause true danger, without the car he's basically harmless but still creepy. I believe it's the car that makes someone a bad ass, and without it you lose all the bad ass appeal. The same theory goes with the man with a gun, without the gun he better know some kung fu, and if he doesn't know he's screwed.
"Death Proof" is a wild ride, the last half switches gears from creepy Kurt Russell to playful Russell. Plus the stunt work from Zoe Bell is jaw breaking. The car chase is great and it never slows down, with wonderful dialogue that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The film's ending is the best I've seen from 2007. "Death Proof" is a true grind house experience mixing horror, car chases, car crashes, foot fetishes, women out for revenge, stereotypes, amazing stunt work, catchy dialogue, and a nice score. This movie has it all.
Good review dude, the movie is great- it has everything for anybody. There is a lot of people that dislike this movie, but hey the director is a true fan boy making movies for the true fans.
I view this movie at least once a year amongst my friends and family, it puts everyone in a happy state of mind. "Drive" is a B-movie that can work for any audience. The film is fun and it succeeds where most action oriented films fail. "Drive" offers insane action mixed with great humor. The film is energetic and it shows from talent onscreen and off screen. The film works so well because of the two main actors, Mark Dacascos and Kadeem Hardison. They offer a great relationship, and the pairing is unique but it mixes so well. In my opinion this is what the Rush Hour films should have been.
The action in Drive is the real showcase. The movie offers explosive action sequences one after another. It also offers witty one-liners and villains that sound and act as if they popped out from a comic book. Mark Dacascos also shows his skills in the movie--he and fight choreographer Koichi Sakamoto make a vibrant duo. The fights are amazing and the camera work is impressive. Director, Steve Wang has done an incredible job. The introduction of Brittany Murphy also adds comic relief and brings added energy on-screen. Drive is a B-movie, but its one of the best B-movies ever made. The picture stands out for its action, but the viewer gets so much more with laughs and crazy villains.
The major problem I had with the film was its open-ending. I hope some time in the future there will be a sequel of some kind. This is one of those movies that you just dont want to end. The film paces fast from start to finish, and by the time it ends you're going to rewatch it all over again. Trust me on that, Ive done it lots of times with this film.
The movie is a must-own for any DVD collector. The talents and action of Drive make it one hell of a good time!

Great film! Great performances by Dacascos and Kadeem Hardison
I saw the movie "Doomsday" in March of 2008 in theaters. I remember watching it back then in a crowded room full of Neil Marshall fans and when it ended we weren't impressed and I was annoyed by how sloppy the film was and the many references to better films that Mr. Marshall puts into a 113-minute movie. The crowd and I were disappointed with the film because it's a mess. Neil Marshall has given great work in the past. His first film, "Dog Soldiers", showed a promising director. The second movie he made was "The Descent", it was thrilling fun-house scare. It reminded me what a horror film should be. Then came "Doomsday". By watching the film, you can't help think that the director wanted to go a new route--instead of a carnage, cringing, and captivating horror film he wanted to make an action picture; and how the horror and action collide baffles me. Did Neil Marshall write this movie when he was intoxicated? Because the uncut version and the cut version look sloppily made.
The story is over-the-top about a virus that spreads throughout England killing thousands of people. The government decides to quarantine the virus site. The quarantine is successful. Three decades later, the Reaper Virus violently resurfaces in a major city. A team of specialists, including Eden Sinclair, is urgently dispatched into the still-quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. When I first read about the plot, I thought it was going to be exciting and original. It wasn't either exciting or original, The film had too many references to better movies.
I enjoy directors that acknowledge other directors or films in their movies. If a director can do that in his movie it makes it more personal for the audience. Quentin Tarantino does that with all his films in a way that it is personal but somehow original. The sharing of references goes for a lot of directors from Paul Thomas Anderson to the Coen brothers. Neil Marshall did a wonderful job of good reference in "Dog Soldiers"--he is a fan of Sam Rami's "Evil Dead" series and with "Dog Soldiers" it truly shows. "Doomsday" on the other hand had a promising plot but just ended up as a mess with too many references like the virus spreading, which is from "28 Days Later", to Eden Sinclair's one eye from "Escape From New York", the quarantine wall looks like it is from "Jurassic Park", the bus chase is from Walter Hill's "The Warriors", the post-apocalyptic wardrobes and car chase is from "The Mad Max" trilogy, and the castle and castle wardrobes is from "Robin Hood" or "Lord Of The Rings". The movie is just one big shout-out to better films.
"Doomsday" is not an original film, the visual style is sloppy, and either cut or uncut you still get bad editing. The many references to better movies ruins any credit of a good time at the movies. If Neil Marshall does not want be the horror guy anymore, he should have made a straightforward action picture. In "Doomsday" we get a mess of everything that Mr. Marshall enjoys and more. If you enjoy a messy film then you would enjoy this mess. There is one good point to the film which is, it's about time that we see the beautiful Rhona Mitra get a starring role. I am tired of seeing her in the background of other movies playing a supporting character. Though she may want to call her agent, because she should have been in the background of this sloppy movie.

What happened here? The director went crazy & didn't really give us an original story. This movie being for the fan boy or girl, really dissappoints them though bc it tries to be like the other films- it just fails into a complete crap masterpiece.
This is truly one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life, and that is no exaggeration!
Reasons why you should buy this film:
The Yuen family: Yuen Woo Ping, Yuen Chiang Ren, Yuen Jen Chiang, Yuen Er Chia. (Actually that should be reason enough.)
Watching Leung Kar Yan's Wing Chun style displayed on this film. In my opinion, it was better here then on "Warriors Two".
This movie is truly a gem, not because it was a great kung fu film, but because of the legend of Fok Yan Gap; Philip Ko, the Yuen family and Leung Kar Yan put their hearts in this film to let us know that. Also, if you raters gave this movie less than five stars it is sort of disrespectful knowing the work put in this film.

My Lucky Stars (product link) Action/Adventure / Comedy This movie is so slow, but there is a nice ending to wait for. Not so bad!

The film went over-budget and it resulted in a very zany story & some bad action sequences. The film is not good just because the last 10 minutes is exciting. For a reviewer 2 rate a movie like this w/ 3 stars is inaccurate & a disgrace 2 real true fans
I agree with you on this. My Lucky Stars is a mixed bag of peanuts. It has a lot of zany & odd moments but the fights at the end saved it from being trash. I agree it's not so bad at all.
Dragon Tiger Gate (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I know how many reviewers do not like to give perfect ratings, on some ole' "I never give a perfect score" default. Well here it is!!! 5, get it, watch it, watch it again, and again...Enjoy everything about this movie. Love Donnie's mother for teaching him martial arts, love Donnie for taking his talents to the next statosphere! Love the promise this movie gives us all, that the martial arts world will still be alive, with or without Jackie or Jet. I dare one not to enjoy this film, This is where Marvel meets Martial...The action, matial arts and choreography are excellent, the plot and story...strong! Suggest...No I demand all to add this to their repertoire.

The film is an insult because the comics had more exciting action sequences. The film is a joke & not a very good joke. We have pretty boys fighting off but their is not a solid story to be found.
I gave this film 3 stars- I enjoyed it too but I found a little corny- but it is a very enjoyable guilty pleasure film. Donnie Yen is a great actor & martial artist, I agree.
The Brave Archer And His Mate (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I am confused, but there are some nice fight scenes to watch, especially the ones with the frog style. Anyway, I believe that they should of left it at part three and called it a masterpiece trilogy. But NO, they have to mess it all up with this! The story is all over the place and I am not kidding. Buy at your own risk.
Too generous of a review. As with the rest of the movies, this is too confusing and we get the grating, annoying Fu Sheng instead of the Fu Sheng of "Heaven and Hell" and "Chinatown Kid."
Drunken Master 2 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST Jackie Chan movies of all time. I would even say that it might be the best Jackie Chan movie ever.

The Killer [1989] (product link) Bullet Ballet / Drama This may have been a good movie for its time period, but it is past its prime for current entertainment. I was not impressed at all with the gun play or the acting for that matter. It was just a lot of shooting and that's about it.

The Killer is good entertainment for any time period. The movie has an excellent story w/ amazing action sequences.
The movie is amazing. The film is def. a classic, Woo's camera style is impressive, & the story is thrilling, One of the best movies for any action fan.
John Woo's "The Killer" is a great picture. The story & acting can remain a classic for any generation. There is a lot of impressive shootouts but the story about a hitman w/ a heart is priceless. Try watching it again, it's just not about the action.
Fatal Contact (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Excellent. The fight scenes are off the chain and the cowboy pimp in the movie is just spot on outstanding.
Great entertainment.

It was nothing but good fight scenes & a sloppy story. It's 5 stars only on youtube because all the drama stuff is out of the picture.
The Mission [1999] (product link) Bullet Ballet / Crime
Johnnie To's 1999 masterpiece "The Mission" is still vibrant and stylish as if it was released today. I am huge fan of Mr. To's work, his movies are visually impressive and his action pictures are simply amazing. I have seen "The Mission" many times, and with each viewing it still thrills me.
Nai-Hoi Yau, who wrote the screenplay, is very talented. He has written the electrying traid film "Election" for Mr. To. And with this film he makes a simple story, refreshing for the audience. The story is great, about five men hired to protect a traid boss in trouble.
The ensemble cast bounces off the screen, with each character presenting their own litte traits. It was a joy to see a cast so lively, and it shows on screen how each character responds to one another working as a team.
The action was pulse-pounding, with bullets flying everywhere. This being a Johnnie To actioner, he always has this magic of making his cast in a furious action battle so cool. "The Mission" is one of my favorite Johnnie To films. It is stylish but simple and with some twist and turns. It still stands out, looking amazing every time I watch it.
"The Mission" is a 5 star film, and with a Hollywood remake on its way, I hope it also has the vibrant feeling of this one. Because without a great cast working together off- and on-screen, this film would have never worked with its intriguing story and direction.

You're review was spot on. Although I find myself skeptical of most American remakes. The new Bangkok Dangerous looks brutal, and the original was great. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Boxer Rebellion (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure WOW! I was pleasantly surprised. I've learned about the history in an Asian course I was taking, and I must say that most of this movie is accurate. But what made this movie 5 stars (in my opinion) is the martial arts. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first 45 minutes of the movie was very slow, I must admit, but after that--man!

it was all right, I give it 4 and half because the beginning was slow. But it was enjoyable.
If you say you watch the movie 3 times, then why didn't you watch this movie 3 times, it's bad. "Contour" u gave 4 1/2 stars it's the same as 5. Don't hate man because your star happy & review goofy.
Revenge Of The Shaolin Master [PanMedia] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure According to other reviews, I must say (in my own opinion) this is a classic. I've never seen anyone get their butts kicked over a bag of rice like this. Wow! The ambiance of this film is pretty gloomy, but the fighting scenes (and there are lots) gives it this weird dichotomy of entertainment. Not to be missed for all kung fu fans.

Dude it wasn't that good. You need to calm down with your star rating.
Kung Fu Genius (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure SURPRISE!!! This is a good dam movie. Cliff Lok in this movie, is in my book, the most underrated martial arts actor of all time. Also, Wilson Tong absolutely outdoes himself with his martial arts direction in this film. This is a true classic--BUY QUICK!

Again with rating funny, Man ya need to calm down. Watch the films you review, then write about them.
The Way Of The Dragon (product link) Martial Arts Bruce Lee's "Way of the Dragon" is one of my favorite because it was a well directed movie taken from the element of the screenplay. Not only was there a story told, but also there was a story told through camera aesthetics, this makes this movie more of a pleasure to watch.
