"Kuro-obi" aka "Black Belt" is a well made movie about the real karate style fights. The film is so moving, the actors are actually real karate masters.
The movie is amazing, I am astonished every time I turn this picture on. The movie can also be told as a Samurai picture about a man upholiding his code in a wild world. The movie has brilliant shots, and the fights are not off the wall like Tony Jaa but they are still breathtaking nonetheless. The movie is a must-own for anyone that loves a great solid story about martial arts.
I thought you guys might be over-hyping this one, but I got a chance to watch it last night and it blew my freaking mind! This is one of the most powerful martial arts films I've ever seen. Amazing. And totally refreshing from a choreography standpoint.
Kill! (product link) Action/Adventure / Swordplay/Sword(s) Kihachi Okamoto's finest film. I absolutely love that director. He also made "Sword Of Doom".
"Kill!" is an off-beat samurai rebellion picture that refrences Kurosawa movies. The film is also funny. This is a definitely a classic movie.

I like "Sword of Doom" even more, but this is still a legitimate 5 star film.
I completely agree. This movie is tight. Didn't mean to trip on you so hard but I've been defending "Dragon Tiger Gate" for a while and it sets me kind of sideways when someone calls it a movie for chicks. We're square though.
Cloverfield (product link) Horror / Science Fiction The first tasteful FX movie since the original "King Kong". The reason I say that is because this is our generation's "King Kong". Back in the day everyone was raving about "King Kong's" special effects. "Cloverfield" is our version.
The special effects were amazing, and the no-name actors did a fine job. The movie just amazes me because it was shot on a camcorder. It looks real and it feels real. A very true classic movie.

Idk if i would go that far and calling it the "King Kong" of our generation. But to me the movie was fun and I think it will become a classic in the future.
Chop Shop (product link) Drama / Crime This is a great picture. It's raw and emotional. I love this picture so much!
The movie is just great cinema and there has been a lot of hard work into this small picture. To me it's an achievement that it was made and well told. I love this picture.
Le Samourai (product link) Crime / Thriller "Le Samourai" is such a cool movie. The film is thrilling, about a hit man, a witness that saw him kill somebody, and a police chief out for blood. The movie is one big cat and mouse game.
If you have not seen this movie yet, pick it up now! This is Johnnie To's favorite movie ever made. Plus, if you love John Woo's "The Killer" or "A Better Tommorrow" and you want to see what influenced him, well this is the movie that influenced him.
Just do me a favor and buy this film now!

The Killer [1989] (product link) Bullet Ballet / Drama This is a great film, and either cut of the film makes a great purchase. I love John Woo gangster pictures, his movies are great and his biggest refrenece in "The Killer" and "A Better Tommorrow" is a French movie called "Le Samourai".
If you have not seen "The Killer", then get it today. Make sure you pick up "Le Samourai" as well because both movies are great! And it really makes a cool experience.
Kill Bill Vol. 2 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "Kill Bill Vol. 2" might not be up to par with Vol. 1 because it is lacking the all-out bloody battle that everyone wanted to see. But for me, the movie is perfect. It's a well balanced meal. The actors did a fine job and I love the whole training sequence, it was done masterfully.
I know the movie is not up to par with Vol. 1, but the way I look at it the stories are mashed together, which actually makes "Kill Bill" one delightful treat for everyone.
Exiled [2006] (product link) Bullet Ballet / Crime Johnnie To is back to his gunplay stories, and he does an amazing job. The movie is visually breath-taking. The action is impressive, with nice stylish sequences. The film did seem short, but yet again Johnnie To still made a very cool movie.
Drunken Master 2 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure The movie is off-the-wall, high-kickin' fun. This has to be Jackie Chan's greatest film. The fights are simply amazing. Either cut of the movie you'll still have a blast.
Kill Bill Vol. 1 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Tarantino delivers another great movie. This time he is taking his love of kung fu movies and explotation films into one. The film is very well done with style.
Every time I watch this movie I like to play the reference game, because like any other Tarantino film, he loves other movies and puts them onscreen. "Kill Bill" is simply an amazing movie.
Shaolin Challenges Ninja (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure No blood, no beheading, no finishing moves. But the film is still intense and still stands up for today's audiences. "Shaolin Challenges Ninja" is a well told story about a young man forced to marry a Japanese girl. The two have little in common, they mostly clash on their cultures.
The movie has impressive fight scenes that are simply breathtaking. I love this movie a lot.

Tiger On Beat (product link) Action/Adventure / Comedy Now this is what "Lethal Weapon" should have been. I love the "Lethal Weapon" movies, but "Tiger On Beat" is a very good movie which I love. The action is great and very gritty.

I love this movie too, but it sure is not worth no 5 stars-- 3 at best.
Love Chow Yun Fat but this isn't one of his better films and shouldn't be anywhere near 5 stars. I think 3 is more realistic as it is not in the same league asThe Killer
Fist Of The White Lotus (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I love director Lo Lieh, his work is always impressive and done masterfully. "Fist Of The White Lotus" is an amazing martial arts film. It is breathtaking and I absolutely love it.
Hell Ride (product link) Action/Adventure / Thriller I saw this film in theaters the other day and it was a blast. The film has explosive action. Though it is another grindhouse experience, I felt as if it was better than "Planet Terror" or "DeathProof" The film is ultra-violent and it has great one-liners. It's a great film, but only for geeks such as myself that love witty action movies.
Invincible Pole Fighter (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure A movie that will last forever in my heart. I love this movie so much! The action is very good. The actors have done another impressive job.
Inside (product link) Horror / Thriller I think Hollywood should take note of this French horror movie. This is what an orginal horror movie is. Hollywood just upsets me in that genre. "Inside" is a very tense and gory movie. The movie is awesome, a must-see and -have for anyone that has not got this yet.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre [1974] (product link) Horror / Thriller Classic, classic, classic. The orginal is always better. They don't make great guerilla style filmmaking in horror movies anymore. This is a must-see for all your friends too.
Philosophy Of A Knife (product link) Documentary / Horror The movie is absolutely terrifying, because the filmmaking is real and tough. This movie is so much better than the all the other horror films that come out. The movie is a tough experience but it is a great one.
Fist Of Legend (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This is a classic movie and I think the best remake of a movie ever made. The action is incredible. "Fist Of Legend" is a blast and it delivers the goods.

This movie will forever remain a classic in action cinema. The story is also satisfying, about cops and thugs. The film just glues you to the screen until the end.
John Woo is an intense genuis. His films always amaze me. The film "Bullet in the Head" is just brilliant. "The Killer" is also a classic action film. If you haven't seen "Hard Boiled" then please get this film now.

Revenge Of A Kabuki Actor (product link) Drama / Comedy A classic. This is a great movie, very thrilling for its time, and it still holds up today. The movie is just amazing.

Come Drink With Me (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Director King Hu was ahead of his time in making this picture. The movie is an absolute blast from start to finish. I really enjoyed this film a lot.
Atonement (product link) Drama / Romance "Atonement" is great filmmaking! The film is wonderful, yet it is a chick film. The movie is very intriguing and amazing. I agree with one reviewer that the tracking shot is wonderfully done. Not since "The Protector" tracking shot have I ever been so amazed.
Immortal [2008] (product link) Martial Arts / Thriller I love The Stunt People. Their films are very odd, but they deliever a great, watchable movie. "Contour" was very weird but had striking action scenes. "Immortal" is also weird but it delivers furious and intense moves. This is a recommended flick.
3 Iron (product link) Drama / Crime This is one of the best modern love stories I have seen in awhile. The movie is unique and the two main characters are utterly brilliant in their silent roles. I absolutely adore this picture and the filmmaking is magnificant. This is a must-have for anyone that wants an original love story or a picture that would make you think about your own personal life.
2009 Lost Memories (product link) Science Fiction / Action/Adventure This is a "What If" movie, or a "Choose Your Own Adventure" movie. But nonetheless the film delievers in riveting action sequeneces one after another. The film is a blast and it is definitely a must-own for the action fanatics.
SPL: Sha Po Lang (product link) Crime / Drama "SPL" is awesome! The movie just looks amazing. I love the retro style lighting that Wilson Yip adds, feels like a cop/triad kung fu comic book movie. The last fight is amazing and very ironic.
Invisible Target (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts "Invisible Target" is a really fun movie. Director Benny Chan, who makes tons of movies a year, really delivers in this picture. The action was done well and I really enjoyed it.
The film did feel like a B-movie at times, but that is because of the pokey storyline. Still, B-movie or not, I really enjoyed the picture.
Angel Terminators (product link) Girls With Guns / Bullet Ballet The film is really fun, and the action delievers the goods. "Angel Terminators" is a very good picture. There are cheesy parts but hey it's the 90's I can forgive them on that.
Shinobi No Mono (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I really liked this film a lot. The film is old but it still holds up today. A really great achievement from yesteryear.
