"The Bank Job" tries to hard to be "Ocean's 11" and not as intriguing as "Inside Man" and certainly not a classic such as "Dog Day Afternoon."
The movie is everywhere with tons of characters that wanted to be in a Guy Ritchie movie but he didn't want any part with this film. The director of this medicore film was Roger Donaldson, who has done marvelous work in the past--such films as "Thirteen Days", which is an absolutely brilliant piece of work.
"The Bank Job" ends up being wannabe Guy Ritchie style filmmaking with flashy moments and then we also get moments that look like a TV movie.
The film does have some laughs and fun, but as an original caper movie it fails, and throughout the movie it becomes predictable for our crew. I don't understand what Mr. Donaldson was trying to accomplish, we get a rough mess of a film. The movie would have been better as an actual documentary.

The movie does not try to be Oceans 11. Oceans 11 was a heist flick about pros whereas this one was about amatuers.
Sukiyaki Western Django (product link) Action/Adventure / Western If you can get by the Japanese actors speaking English then you will love this film a lot. I loved it, it was a perfect thrill ride.
Come Drink With Me (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This movie proves that women kick ass! I am giving this film 5 stars because it has a lot of great moments. The film is old and it does have some sloppy editing and fighting moves, but it does deliver a great story and great stars. I really do adore this picture because it proves that a woman can kick ass.

Influential and a very solid film, but a poor and sloopy review
I don't think this movie was a five star movie. It was good but in my opinion it wasn't all that good. I do like the Golden Shallow character though. It was not as mind blowing as Mad Monkey Kung Fu. But it was dam good for a 60's movie.
I agree that it is an excellent movie but this review is horrible. Poorly written with very little exposition. This is exactly why fangirls shouldn't write reviews.
The Warlords (product link) Action/Adventure / War I love the stars of "The Warlords". They are very talented and have great charisma. The movie itself is an all right epic tale of warlords. I say "all right" because it has moments that I have seen in better films. I am not saying this film is horrible, but it's been done before. The story is taken from other material, but again the actors were really great in the limited roles they had.

"an all right epic tale of warlords"? And what other films was this taken from? I'll remember not to bother reading your reviews of anything again. Pathetic.
Someone who writes fickle reviews as if they were 5th grade book reports has no business attacking anyone's intelligence. Teenage girls that are trendsters should not review anything. This is starting to become sad. Go to the mall or something.
Philosophy Of A Knife (product link) Documentary / Horror This movie is frightening because it is shot in a documentary style. The movie is thrilling and it is not for anyone that is pregnant or faint of heart. I saw this with a bunch of my friends and I was scared, I had my eyes covering my face for the most part.
Drunken Master 2 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure [The uncut version is] the only cut that any "Drunken Master 2" fan should own. The movie is crazy with exciting fight scenes, and the moves of Jackie Chan always impress me. I love this film not because of the fighting and funny moments, but because it has a simple story for any man or woman to follow. The movie is packed with thrilling moments and it still amazes me to this day.
I agree with the 5 star rating but the fighting and comedic moments are at the very core of why this is a fantastic film. Probably Jackie Chan's best film, and only teaming with the legendary Lar Kar Leung!
I agree with the rating and the sentiments about the action. But the story is just generic, HK, Kung Fu fare. Simple, yes. But not the reason at all to watch this film.
Self contradictory review that makes little sense. It is a five star movie but again this review is quite poor. If you don't love the movie for its fighting or funny moments then you are pretty much missing the point of the film.
Three Kingdoms: Resurrection Of The Dragon (product link) Drama / Historical "Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon" is supposed to be another epic tale, but it fails because the director cannot make a good picture. The director, Daniel Lee, tries too hard, making something so easy into a complete disaster. Though this movie may be horrible, it's not certainly the worst of the year. The film still has some promising moments with nice actors, but where that succeeds, the story and pacing is a disaster. Throughout the movie I was hoping it would get better, but in the end it never gets beyond being medicore.
An Empress And The Warriors (product link) Martial Arts / Drama "An Empress And The Warriors" is a misleading trailer and title. The movie itself is not that good. First the trailer of the film was exciting, and the title makes you wonder where the other warriors are. The movie should have been "The Empress that wants to be a warrior plus another warrior (Donnie Yen) and the medicine man that lives in an adult size tree house." That should have been the title.
The movie is nothing but sappy moments and non-thrilling short action sequences. I am a young woman, but hey, I also want some thrilling action scenes. The movie is a joke and, if you don't think it is, well watch the part with the empress and the tree house man in a homemade balloon ride, it's the weirdest and silliest part of the whole movie.
