Bio: I am a Kung Fu Maniac. I love a lot of martial arts films. I usually like the underdog stories where the hero has to take a transformation to be something. The destiny of a human is so greater then anything else.
I live in Hollywood, CA. I studied & trained in many martial arts competitions. My job is a stuntman & personal trainer. I have done a lot of really bad B-movie action films, but none the less it's work, it's a stuntmans job.
Fist Of Legend (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure There are a lot of people that say "this film is an all right picture, but it's not that good."
In my opinion this is a classic martial arts movie! "Fist of Legend" is directed by Gordon Chan, and I think this is the best movie he has made so far. I also believe this is one of the best remakes of a movie. Bruce Lee is a legend in my eyes, and to see Jet Li remaking a classic film just puts a smile on my face. It's great to see the stars you love and find out who they were inspired by. Bruce Lee has touched many people's lives and he has opened doors for any would be followers in martial arts. "Fist Of Legend" will remain on my top 5 of the greatest martial arts films ever made.

I too think Gordon has some good things yet to come.
Definite classic. Ignore the one guy who can't see what's right in front of his face. I don't get how anyone could say anything bad about this film. I theorize that he actually knows nothing at all about martial arts whatsoever.
actually, it looks like I'm the only one who doesn't think that. Nice to know that people are re-reviewing this one to keep the rating up. You're a liar if you think this is better than Lar Kar Leung, Gordon Liu, and the venom's best stuff.
Bullet In The Head (product link) Action/Adventure / War This film is for true fans of John Woo. I love John Woo movies--he knows how to move a camera. His early work is always impressive and will remain a classic to any Asian cinema fanboy.
"Bullet In The Head" is what "The Deer Hunter" should have been. Well, if "The Deer Hunter" was an all-out, over-the-top action film, then it could have been it. "Bullet In The Head" is an intense gunplay story about friendship and how it breaks because of the Vietnam war. The movie is epic in action and I am just happy that John Woo made this picture.

John Woo has a great camera eye. The action is done well, I love this film.
Shaolin Challenges Ninja (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure The film is very entertaining! I love this picture so much, and if I ever have kids one day, this is one of those films you could watch with them. WHY?
No blood, no tears, but there was a lot of sweat put into this picture. The film showcases no finishing moves or even the gritty violent scenes you see in a kung fu movie. The film is enjoyable, and it was sort of like the "Mrs. & Mr. Smith" of kung fu films. The story is about a couple that clash about their Asian cultures. It's brilliant and one of Shaw's best films.
Jakarta (product link) Action/Adventure / Crime "Jakarta" is for those true fans of heist-gone-wrong films. The movie is enjoyable from start to finish, and every time I watch it, it can always put a smile on my face. The movie has tons of characters breaking into the same bank on the same day, but what this movie has is intelligent plot twists and catchy music. The film is fun and very entertaining.
Yong Chun (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Martial Arts "Yong Chun" was an excellent television series. The series was abosolutely action-packed, with a lot of great moves. Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao did a great one-on-one fight and the story of "Yong Chun" is amazing. I love underdog stories and this is great series that everyone should own.
Kampfansage: Der Letzte Schüler (product link) Martial Arts / Fantasy German fu = an awesome movie. "Kampfansage" is a well done, entertaining action movie that takes place in the post-apocolypse. I was reading a review before and I did not know the director made this film for his friends and family only. The movie is just one thrill ride with some nice CGI magic. It's awesome to see martial arts films from countries other than Asia, and that they love martial arts films too.

Alright. Now that's more like it. You are taking the right steps to earn your props like we all earned ours. Good man.
Knockabout (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao, what a great team. "Knockabout" is a very fun movie. The movie is out there because it has great laughter, but the action and moves are well done. Sammo Hung did a excellent job on everything. I love the last fight because it makes me laugh watching Yuen and Sammo jumping rope and making animal sounds--very entertaining. The movie is just an awesome, fun film, I love it.
Five Fingers Of Death (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I really love this picture. This is one of the first martial arts pictures I saw. My father was huge fan of Shaw Brothers Studios and he introduced it to me when I was just entering first grade. I remember watching "Five Fingers of Death" (AKA "King Boxer") after school with my father. He and I were on the couch, glued to the TV screen. At the time we got our first VCR and the film was English dubbed. Not 'til many years later did I finally get to watch it in its original language. But in either language I was still visually impressed.
"Five Fingers of Death" is one of my favorite films not just because it's an underdog of a movie, but the bond I had with my father still amazes me. I love all Shaw Brothers stuff, even the bad pictures, because without their knowledge I would have never taken martial arts classes.

I agree with Choco, I saw this film in a simpler time in what would be called a grindhouse theatre in later years. It reminds me of when my family were all alive and well, how as a kid I could look forward to being just that!
In The Line Of Duty 4 (product link) Martial Arts / Girls With Guns This is an awesome martial arts film! I am a huge fan of the 80's flicks. The kung fu 80's movies get into the action right away and never slow down one bit. The stories are intriguing plus you get real gritty action sequences.
"In The Line of Duty 4" is my fave of the 7 films in the series. The action is insane and, well, the movie is kind of cheesy but all ind all it's well worth it. Donnie Yen is kicking ass in this movie plus dragging on the back of a motorcycle. The movie is amazing!
In The Line Of Duty 3 (product link) Martial Arts / Girls With Guns This was a silly film and very fast-paced compared to its sequel, which was much darker and grittier. "In the Line of Duty 3" is an insane gunplay and martial arts film. The movie showcases Cyntia Khan's talent. The fights were fast and the action was intense. I really enjoyed this picture a lot.
The Rebel (product link) Martial Arts / Drama "The Rebel" is an entertaining film. I recently saw "The Empress And The Warriors"; the problem with that film is that it tried too hard to be something amazing. But with "The Rebel" the movie just entertains. The action is everywhere--when you think the movie will slow down and become boring, we see our heroes out of nowhere kicking ass. I don't know what took so long for this film to get to the United States, but if you haven't seen this yet then get it now. There are a lot of 180 kicks and a lot of great action sequences.
Wheels On Meals (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy "Wheels On Meals" is one of my favorite Jacke, Sammo and Yuen collaboration films. My all time favorite would have to be "Dragons Forever".
"Wheels On Meals" is just one hell of a good time at the movies. The laughs are extremely funny and the action is amazing. I love the last fight scenes. This is a must-own if you don't have it already.
Executioners From Shaolin (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This is a good picture, but not the best. The middle of the film does seem to slow down and we get forceful humor along the way, but the action sequences are really the showcase in this film, and I enjoyed my time watching the action. Like I said the replay value is in the action.
Time And Tide (product link) Triad / Action/Adventure Tsui Hark's "Time And Tide" might have a confusing story but it does offer amazing action sequences and replay value. The movie is well shot and has a lot of visual eye-candy CGI moves. My favorite action scene was in the apartment building. I loved it. People were everywhere trying to kill this one guy. The last action scene was intense too. I did not know where the story was heading, but the action still blew me away.

It's eye candy but it's really good eye candy. I love the apartment building action scene.
Yes, Madam! (product link) Martial Arts / Girls With Guns The second "In The Line of Duty" is a great picture. It is more gritty than the first but it still entertains. It was great too see Tsui Hark in a speaking role, he brought a lot of funny and emotional scenes. The movie is so much darker than the first in the series, which is "Royal Warriors". The ending of this is very gritty. Corey Yuen has done a great job.
The 5 Billion Dollar Legacy (product link) Mystery / Horror A Shaw Brothers whodunit movie, and to my surprise it's actually entertaining. The movie is great and it will definitely keep you guessing. I am a fan of whodunit pictures; and, well, growing up with my father and mother in the entertainment business, you have to open up to all film stuff. I guess that is what Shaw Brothers were doing, and I commend them on their great job.
So Close (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts "So Close" is another entertaining picture from Corey Yuen. The movie is everywhere but it does deliver some great action moments. The car chase is wild and the gunplay plus fights were enjoyable. The film has a lot of dramatic moments that I really did not care about, but like I said the action does deliver.
Eastern Condors (product link) Action/Adventure / War I love films that have deadly missions for the heroes. Amazing films such as "The Dirty Dozen", "Inglourious Bastards", the "Rambo" films and "Where Eagles Dare".
Movies about suicide missions are always entertaining from start to finish. In "Eastern Condors" Sammo Hung takes refernces from the "Rambo" films and "The Dirty Dozen". These two ingredients make one good movie with interesting fight scenes and over-the-top action. The movie is nowhere near a classic, but a lot of people talk about this film because the premise is very engaging.
Fatal Move (product link) Crime / Martial Arts "Fatal Move" is not the worst picture out there. It manages to entertain. The only problem with the movie is that the story goes everywhere, with characters coming and going. The action sequences are still nicely done, but again the film is everywhere. "Fatal Move" does not know what it really wants to be; and for viewers such as myself, it gets confusing where it's going. Again like I said the film is not the worst I have seen, and it does have some good action. Though the fight at the end was really out of nowhere.
Chocolate [2008] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "Chocolate" is a horrible martial arts film. The action scenes were badly directed, because every action scene looked the same as the first one. The story was horrible, and compared to director's previous work the action is a big let down. There is nothing amazing in this picture. The movie is too long and boring.
I think you either love this film or hate it. Obviously you hated it, but there are some entertaining moments that qualify this film for more than a half star.
I disagree with only giving it a half star because it was fairly entertaining. However, I do agree with your remark concerning the tediousness of the fight scenes.
Have not seen movie but must comment on your horribly uneducated comments I keep seeing all over the place including my junk. Write some reviews and prove you know what you are talking about because honestly most of us realize you are a fanboy.
