Hard Boiled (product link) Action/Adventure / Bullet Ballet An absolute blast. I was expecting the dynamically choreographed action scenes, but the emotion of the undercover cop story was a surprise treat. Grade AAA stuff all around, a must-see.
Police Story (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy Awesome flick! The stunts have to be seen to be believed--great humor as well. I was honestly blown away by this movie.
Tom Yum Goong (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Great flick. The action/fight scenes were amazing and the overall plot was alright, but the acting (especially among the Australian actors) was terrible. Still highly recommended.
Appleseed [2004] (product link) Animation / Science Fiction Great movie. It's kind of a weird stylistic mix of CGI modeled after traditional anime character designs, which can look kind of plastic-like at times. It has a great plot, great action scenes, and the finale is truly exciting. Recommended for anime/action fans.

yeah great cgi anime film- check out the newest appleseed movie too if you loved this one.
Bloodsport (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Kinda' corny and mediocre acting, but the fight scenes are great, especially at the end. Recommended.

This movie deserves no more than one star. This movie is only for the discerning fan who thinks Don "The Dragon" Wilson is an unstoppable force.
The Killer [1989] (product link) Bullet Ballet / Drama Great, great flick. The action is top-notch, the character development is complete, the pacing is perfect...I could go on. It starts off a little slow, and the ending is very bleak, but as a whole an excellent movie. Highly recommended!
Shanghai Noon (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts A decent popcorn flick. The racial humor gets a little grating (especially the cheap shots at Jews and Native Americans), as does Owen Wilson, but Jackie is great as always and the movie as a whole entertains. Recommended for Jackie Chan fans.
Shanghai Knights (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Another decent popcorn flick with Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan. Thankfully this movie doesn't take as many racial cheapshots as the first, and the story is much better realized. Great action as always, and I loved the fight with Jackie and Donnie Yen. Recommended for Jackie Chan fans.
The Sister Street Fighter Collection [4-Disc Set] (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts The camerawork/story/gore/etc. is in the "it's so bad it's good" catagory, but the martial arts are top notch.
Return Of The Street Fighter (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Worth watching for the great fight scenes, but overall more of the same with less of the charm. Watch it once and be done with it.
Sister Street Fighter (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts An absolute classic! Etsuko Shihomi really kicks ass against an outrageously bizarre cast of bad guys! Great gore with some cleavage thrown in. 70s exploitation doesn't get any better than this!
Sister Street Fighter 2: Hanging By A Thread (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Still a great romp, but missing the charm of the first SSF. The gore is even more over the top and the fight scenes are much better choreographed, but the plot and weak bad guys take it down a notch.
Once Upon A Time In China Trilogy [US 2-Disc Set] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure A great collection of three classic Jet Li films. The third entry isn't quite up to snuff compared two the other two (especially Part 2), but as a whole a must-see.
Once Upon A Time In China (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts A classic, with Jet Li at his finest. The story can be a little hard to follow in places, but the immaculately choreographed fight scenes more than make up for it.

I give this flick 5 stars- but yeah it can be hard to follow in places but the fights are amazing.
Once Upon A Time In China 2 (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts A classic, and the strongest entry in the OUATIC series. Donnie Yen and Jet Li must be seen to be believed, and the supporting cast is just as spectacular. WATCH IT NOW!
Once Upon A Time In China 3 (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts By far the weakest of the first three OUATICs. While the fight scenes are as top-notch as ever, the villains are unimpressive and the story is flat. Only worth seeing if you want to complete the original trilogy.
Mortal Kombat (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts About as good a videogame-to-film translation of MK that you could hope for, although the violence isn't as high as I'd like. A must-see for MK fans, a decent popcorn flick for everyone else.
Blade (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Great comic adaptation, great popcorn flick.

When I saw this in theaters- I wasn't that amazed- I found it just an ok film, I didn't hate it or anything-but compared to the sequel "Blade 2" it was amazing Del Toro knows his comic books.
Wheels On Meals (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy Great action and humor! Jackie's end fight has to be seen to be believed, and Yuen/Sammo do a great job as well. The story left a little bit to be desired, but everything else is top-notch. Highly recommended!
The Big Boss (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Classic Bruce flick! The action is fantastic, and some of the special effects are superb for the time. The story is a little weak and the ending is a downer, but still a classic. Highly recommended!
Fist Of Fury [1972] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure The definitive Hong Kong Bruce Lee film. A must-see for anyone even remotely interested in martial arts flicks. SEE IT NOW!

hell yes this is bruce lee at his very best martial arts dont come any better than this a must have.
The Way Of The Dragon (product link) Martial Arts A classic! While some of the narrative scenes' direction/dialogue leaves a bit to be desired, the acting is absolutely top-notch and the ending is legendary. Highly recommended!
Sister Street Fighter 4: Fifth Level Fist (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts A great film, but far removed from the original three SSF titles. While some of the action direction is similar, the story/characters are completely new, and the film focuses more on drama scenes than action scenes. Still highly recommended.
Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Absolutely top-notch fight scenes, a must-see! Just be sure to hit the mute button whenever Muay is onscreen...
The Octagon (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Pure early 80s cheese, but hilarious all the same. Chuck's "inner monologue" voice is worth the asking price-ice-ice-ice...and the fight scenes are alright. A must for so-bad-it's-good and Chuck Norris fans, a decent rental for everyone else.
Hellboy (product link) Action/Adventure / Science Fiction Solid and highly enjoyable action/monster/comic flick. The CG looks superb, but the animatronics/physical props really steal the show, especially Ron Perlman in makeup as Hellboy himself. Del Toro does a stellar job directing as usual, and the cast performs each part to a T. You can tell that a lot of time, effort, and passion was put into this product, and I can't wait to see what Del Toro and co. have in store for Summer 2008. Highly recommended!
Face/Off (product link) Action/Adventure / Thriller A John Woo action classic, not to be missed by anyone! Travolta and Cage are absolutely electrifying, playing each other's dramatic style perfectly (and this is coming from someone who isn't particularly fond of either actor!). The plot, seemingly impossible to pull off without cheesey tactics, is pulled off to a T, and the ending is somewhat upbeat for a John Woo film. Not to be missed by ANYONE! See it now!
The Machine Girl (product link) Action/Adventure / Girls With Guns I haven't laughed so hard at a movie in a long time. Absolute grade-A cheesiness and gore. See it now!
Bulletproof Monk (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts A decent movie, but only for the involvement of Chow Yun-Fat. A lackluster story with a weak villain coupled with terrible fight scene editing/wirefu/CG, but somewhat enjoyable nonetheless. Give it a rental and then leave it alone.

a passable movie. Chow yun Fat what happened to you ?
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (product link) Drama / Martial Arts A brilliant, must-see drama. The extensive wire-fu knocks it down a peg for me, but everything else is ace. See it!
