Ip Man (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure
HOLY &@<*IN' $#!% this movie is awesome! I never thought I'd see a film greater than my favorite kung fu movie of all time, "The Prodigal Son". But now "Ip Man" is my favorite pick.
Everything about this movie is fantastic: the story, the acting, the action, the choreography--especially the choreography. There's a scene where Donnie Yen fights ten other Japanese martial artists, and it's one of the coolest things I've ever seen. The intensity and pure awesomeness of the choreography was so phenomenal that my eyes literally watered up. But of course, maybe this was due to the fact that I didn't blink for the whole duration of the scene.
This movie pretty much confirms my belief that Donnie Yen is the greatest living martial artist in cinema. So don't be affraid to pick this one up, because you can't go wrong with this film. |
