Ichi (product link) Martial Arts / Drama I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Haruka Ayase, Riki Takeuchi, and Shido Nakamura make it such a fun movie to watch. Haruka, with her calmness and beauty, in contrast to Riki and Shidou's exaggerated facial contortions and typical yakuza like banter. The only thing I wish they would change in these newer chambara movies is to use the older blood spray technique instead of the fake CGI blood spray. To slice up a group of thugs and not have a drop of blood on your clothing, hair, face, etc...it kind of takes some of the impact away. Either way though, I really enjoyed the movie.

CGI blood is definitely a distraction. One day they'll master it, but until then it just detracts. Otherwise great film tho.
Hansel And Gretel (product link) Fantasy / Thriller "Hansel and Gretel" reminded me of the short movie "It's A Good Life" from the "Twilight Zone Movie", except it's a LOT darker and more entertaining. In my opinion, this was is one of the better Asian horror movies to come out in a long time, and I would highly recommend it.
