Seven Notes In Black (product link) Horror / Mystery If you love stylish giallo films, you will love this movie. If you are into cheap gore, you will be disappointed. Bottom line. The plot is very simple to follow yet simultaneously complex and from beginning to end the pace never slows down.
Only beefs are the horrible song at the beginning and the overused zoom lens (though I am nit-picking here!)
Bonus fun is trying to guess how stoned the beautiful Jennifer O'Neill was in each take!

Ha... I agree with the Jennifer O' Neill I played that game amongst my friends. Seven Notes In Black is a stylish flick- i liked it.
What Have You Done To Solange? [Uncut SE] (product link) Mystery / Horror One of the best Giallo films I have seen thus far. Stylishly filmed, well acted and dubbed (the cast is also great to look at!), great score (by Ennio Morricone) and manages to evoke a very disturbing yet seductive atmosphere.
Amuck! (product link) Thriller / Mystery Upside: Barbara Bouchet carries the movie. I'm not even sure if she is a particulary great actress but, she is stunning to look at and has a great screen presence. There is also some groovy music and a slow-motion lesbian sex scene that is beautiful.
Downside: Plot. None of the characters seem to carry any motivation from scene to scene. I realise that giallos are not always lauded for their coherent plotlines. I just found the glaring lack of logic in the characters behaviour and reactions to be distracting after awhile.
Short Night Of Glass Dolls (product link) Horror / Thriller Downside: I didn't find this giallo particularly engaging. There are some interesting ideas but very little suspense. Ingrid Thulin is also horribly miscast.
Upside: Cinematography, music and locations are all great (setting the film in Prague gives it a different feel). The last quarter of the movie starts to build momentum and the finish is quite good.
La Sorella Di Ursula (product link) Horror / Erotica Definitely at the bottom end of Gialli that I have seen. The director was definitely more concerned with showing as much nudity and simulated sex as possible than creating any kind of atmosphere. The murders are also very repetitious in their execution (pardon the pun!). I mainly checked this out to see Marc Porel from Fulci's "Don't Torture A Duckling." Not sure that it was worth it!
