Robotrix (product link) Science Fiction / Girls With Guns An evil male scientist invents a way to put his consciousness into a robot (which conveniently looks and moves exactly like a human), kidnaps a prince, and goes around killing women. So a good female scientist builds two hot chick super-robots to stop him. Unlike many HK category 3 films, Robotrix never gets serious and never gets mean. Pure fun!
Red To Kill (product link) Erotica / Action/Adventure One of the best HK category 3 films. Lily Chung plays a retarded girl who is stalked by a serial killer/rapist. As in Daughter of Darkness, she is so good at showing her character's innocence and humanity that only the most depraved viewers will enjoy the rape scenes. What you're left with is a very serious drama which is kept from true greatness by the bits that fail to rise above simple exploitation: the rapes of a couple anonymous pretty girls, and the ridiculous violent climax. Still highly recommended if you like this sort of thing.
Daughter Of Darkness [Ocean Shores] (product link) Horror / Erotica Hong Kong films are not afraid to mix genres. Daughter of Darkness is several films in one: a police comedy, a splatter shocker, a soft-core sex film, and a serious drama about family abuse. All of them are well done, but if you watch this expecting to be titillated, you'll be disappointed, because Lily Chung is such a good actress that you will sympathize with her character too much to enjoy any of the awful things that are done to her. Even the lengthy consensual sex scene is strangely unsexy in the context of the abuse plot, and it's the one scene that feels gratuitous.
If all the plots had been played as comedy, this would have been brilliant. It's still one of the better HK category 3 films, and the ending is excellent.
