Bio: I have been collecting Kung Fu films for over 25 years and consider myself a fanatic in the genre. I was pleased to find this site to add to my already ridiculus collection. Alot of the titles on the site I already have but on vhs, don't laugh. The titles I am unfamilar with are the ones I am purchasing and any specific favorites that I already own I will purchase on DVD. If you see my reviews on any specific titles 5 stars you may want to check them out.

Cat Vs. Rat (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Story about rivals with same teacher. Fu Sheng always wants to battle Adam Chang to prove who is the best. Gordon Liu comes along, gets saved, Adam is given a rank Fu Sheng thinks he should have...trickery ensues. I'll say probably a 3-1/2 to 4 star film.
One Man Army [1980] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Fighting is what I like to see, and this film has a lot of it. A popular cast, rape, betrayal, hidden weapons, and bloodshed. Chen Sing is of course the ultimate villain. Yue Hua travels with a boy to avenge his family's death. A must-see old school fu flick.
What Price Honesty? (product link) Crime / Action/Adventure I was blown away by this one. This film is dramatic. It has some kung fu, but it is explaining the nature of corruption and greed in the worst way.
Jason does an excellent job in portraying what an official should do after taking an oath to uphold goodness, as he put it. Danny Lee and Sun Chen are his good friends who have the same feelings, but the cops around him are in love with the money, so all bets are off. My man Lo Lieh is a villain of course who has connections with the local officials, even though he is captued and jailed to plot his own revenge against the guys who put him there.
A must-see. [Possible spoilers ahead.] And the ending is, well, the corupt officials get what they deserve.
Shadow Of The Tiger (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Phillip Ko Fei really does his thing in this movie. Features a lot of real martial arts masters, but I felt this one missed the mark.
The plot is: a beaten Shaolin monk was bitter he was not chosen for some high post at the temple, so he fled. Then appears Ko Fei, a Japanese invincible fighter with all the techniques to all but destroy all the Chinese fighters. The masters who are left recruit some fighters to defeat the arrogant menace. They fight, lose, and suffer injuries. The hero must learn all the other styles to defeat Ko Fei.
Again, with all the talent in this movie, it still missed the mark for me.
Secret Of Tai Chi (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Never seen or heard of this flick, not too impressed with it. The fight scenes were pretty entertaining. Some unknown character's tale of revenge--whole family wiped out, the two sons learn Tai Chi from a master and his daughters to get revenge. Some liked the movie, but I really didn't. I suggest renting it if possible. Replay value, at least for me: one and done.
The New One-Armed Swordsman [3-Movie Set] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure David Cheng, Ti Lung and Ku Feng--oh, can't forget Chen Sing--in this bloody tale of revenge. David has a duel with Ku, underestimates his Triple Iron skills, and loses an arm per the agreement before the duel. Ti comes in as an hero looking for the evildoers at the fort, which include Ku and Chin Seng. He got what he was looking for--let's just say he was a whole man when he arrived. Anyway David goes to the fort for a return duel with Ku and blood spills royal. A must have. CLASSIC.

Agreed, a true classic! I really liked David Chiang's brooding character as wellas Ku Feng's evil master of the triple irons!
Ninja In The Deadly Trap (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Kuo Choi, my man Lu Feng, and forgot the acrobatic Venom's name, along with the all mighty Ti Lung, round up this incredible cast--oh, almost forgot my man that was in "Heroes From The East", the ninja plays the villain. It's a notch or three down from "Super Ninjas" as far as Chinese warriors against samurais and ninjas go, but very entertaining fights and heroic bloodshed.

a fun flick. The Heroes of the East actor you are thinking of is Yasuaki Kurata.
Marco Polo (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure If anyone is anyone has ever watched a Shaw Brothers film, then I don't even need to comment on this gem. Classic.
The Heroes [Tai Seng] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Another Ti Lung film. He represents. And my man from SUPER NINJAS is the villain. The hero betrays Shaolin for a good cause, but his brothers don't find out his motives until--well, they don't find out. Check this one out. Flash Legs is also in this one.
Fearless Dragon (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy Only thing I liked about this film was Wang Lung Wei as the villain. Not really into this one. I would suggest you might want to pass on this.
The Kid With A Tattoo (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Actually, I don't like this film as far as the plot goes, but the fight scenes are top notch. Worth checking out.
Six Assassins (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Absolutely entertaining. An evil warlord, or the Emperor's brother, does all types of cruel acts--killing people, taking land--and the hero he kills has some serious fighters in his clan that are not going to accept it. Our hero's kung fu is top notch, but so is the villain's. Don't want to spoil it for you, but it's a very good film. A must-have.
Two Champions Of Shaolin (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Venom flick that's bar none. Everyone's in this except Lo Meng. But still a true classic. A must-have in any and every library.
Shaolin Mantis (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure David Chiang, Liu Cha Liang Gordon Liu, and a cast of Shaw stars delivered in this tale. The Emperor wants a list that needs to be retrieved. If not, David's family will be jailed and eventually killed. A famous patriot who is incognito, Liu, is the elder with his family, all experts who support his actions. Long story short, the hero is defeated, learns Mantis style, and wants revenge. A must in your library.

My favorite David Chiang solo effort! He made some greats with Ti Lung, but this film depicting how mantis style was created was quite enjoyable!
My Young Auntie (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy Good kung fu action. I didn't care for the modern style clothes in the film, but it was still highly enteraining. Liu Chia Liang and Wang Lung Wei are of course the stand outs. You have to check this one out.
Men From The Monastery (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Classic old school all-star cast. Shaolin Temple disciples against the Manchus. A must-have.

Agreed, no collection is complete without this gem!
Legend Of The Bat (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Yes, this is classic. Ti Lung reprises his role from "Clans Of Intrigue" in this drama with ferocious fight scenes and traps in caves, burning boats, and naked women. Yes, naked women. The villain is, what can I say, highly entertaining. A must-see and -have in any collection.
Lady With A Sword (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Good old school fights. Her sister is raped and she is out for revenge. Nice sword fighting. Worth checking out.
Secret Rivals 3 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "Southern Fist, Northern Kicks" is the name of this title. Pretty entertaining. John Liu kicks major buttocks while the other hero lends a hand, literally. Usual plot of revenge; a bad guy is behind the evil deed, and revenge is a must. Worth checking out.
Bloody Parrot (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Wow. How can I rate this film? The fighting was top notch, the plot was kinda' confusing, but then toward the end I was in shock. The hero is trying to figure out the secret of the Bloody Parrot, with people getting poisoned. An autopsy is performed--yes an autopsy. But what kept my attention through the whole disturbing twisted film was the reason that I won't give it away. I suggest you check this one out.
Avenging Warriors Of Shaolin (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure All the Venoms are in this non-stop kung fu classic. Ku Feng leads his men to battle Hung Si Quan and his fellow patriots in this bloody tale of brotherhood.
Masked Avengers (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Who are the villains? Who are the heroes? Classic Venoms. They all represent in every way. Masks galore. Quote of all quotes: "We do what we want here, killing or raping". Check it out. A must-have.
Legendary Weapons Of China (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Oh yeah, this is a classic. Gordon Liu plays an almost invincible monk, but he is not even the main charcter. His brothers are Liu Cha Liang an (I forgot the other brother's name), who wants to be the leader of all the sects in the martial world. A must-have in your kung fu collection.

Absolutely five stars and a must have for any martial arts fan!
Drunken Tai Chi (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Donnie Yen plays a rich kid with superior skills in kung fu who is targeted by another well-off troubled rich kid with less than half the kung fu skills. Donnie's half brother doesn't talk, but he expresses humility to Donnie in his own special way.
I know, I'm yawning too.
Anyway it picks up when the father of the troubled rich kid hires an assassin to wipe out Donnie's father and step brother. He has a fight, gets his you know what kicked, and stumbles upon a rat-faced Tai Chi master and his rather large wife. He learns the secret of Tai Chi and just picks up the movie.
The Instant Kung Fu Man (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure First, everyone, I usually don't have a full summary of the movies for you to read [in my reviews]. I figure if you see the stars you can judge for yourself if it's worth your $ to purchase it. With that said, Hwang Jang Lee is the only good thing about this film. Twin brothers, played by the same charcter, one good and one bad, doubled crossed Hwang and he wants revenge. It's worth checking out.
Chen Kuan Tai is one of my favorite old school actors! This is an old school classic that helped start the guillotines flying in varius Shaw Brother features.
