All Quiet on the Western Front, Paths of Glory, Patton, Platoon, Twelve O'Clock High, Fires on the Plain, Saving Private Ryan (from which this movie blatantly steals) are even Black Hawk Down are better than this ripoff of a movie.
I was going to quibble about whether this was the greatest war movie ever made, but find I can't. The staging and filming of battle scenes was as good as any, and I found I cared more for the characters than I did in any competing film.
