They Who Step On Tiger's Tail (product link) Drama A wonderful early work from master director Akira Kurosawa. (If memory serves correctly, only the Sanshiro Sugata trilogy, now reduced to two, not three DVDs, is earlier in his canon) There is NO action. There are NO swordfights or even confrontations. THIS AIN'T SEVEN SAMURAI. But it is a splendid piece of cinema which will teach anyone a great deal about the japanese heart and mind.
