Train Man Special 2 (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Comedy I liked this special much more than the first one. It was good to see more development between Hermes and Densha. It dragged a little bit when he went to get the "black pearl of fate" but the end made up for the slow pace in the middle. An excellent closure to the series.
Train Man Special 1 (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Comedy This special was okay. I enjoyed the back story of some on the other characters, especially the baseball fan and his new girl friend and Densha's rival. I thought the 'guitar man' story was a little silly even thought the actor playing him did a great job.
Train Man [TV Series] (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Comedy I saw the movie before I saw the series. The series was very good and I really enjoyed the fact that there was more time for character development. This is a heartwarming series and I recommend it to any romantic or anyone else who has ever lived in Japan and met an otaku!
Black Mask (product link) Action/Adventure / Science Fiction A great Jet Li movie! This version is much better than the cut up US version. Many great fight scenes and another good outing for Yuen Wo-Ping. A must-see for Jet Li fans.
Bayside Shakedown [TV Series] (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Action/Adventure I was first introduced to this series when living in Japan. A Japanese friend suggested we watch "Bayside Shakedown 2" together to see if the English translations were good. I loved that movie and soon purchased it and the original "Bayside Shakedown". I enjoyed both a lot and was going to buy the series without English subtitles. I am glad I waited as this series was excellent. It was more serious than the movies, and Oda Yuji (Aoshima) was so much better as you see him develop as a officer. I would recommend this TV series, the movies and the two spinoffs (which I have) to anyone. Outstanding entertainment and character in this series. Cannot wait until "Bayside Shakedown 3" comes out in 2009!
Chibi Maruko-Chan (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Drama I really enjoyed the cartoon series when I lived and Japan and I thought the live action would be as good. The stories were good but a lot of time was taken with a game show and doing experiments in a lab. Stick to the cartoon, much better.
Drunken Master 2 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure One of the best Jackie Chan movies! A lot of amazing stunts and great fight scenes. It was great to watch it in original Cantonese. A must-see for kung fu fans.

The Queen Of The Classroom (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Drama Really enjoyed this series. I can relate to it as I taught English in Japan and saw how students are forced to conform. I watched this in Japan and could understand most of it. Shida Mirai is excellent as Kazumi. It is nice to see a show send a positive message about being different.

Gokusen 2 (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Comedy Enjoyed part 2 almost as much as the first. Again, predictable, but always felt good to see the misfits win in the end. Nakama Yukie does another great job. All her family returns and so does Kuma from the first series. Grandpa is a great character again. Did enjoy the first series a little more because of the main character Shin. Am looking forward to Gokusen III when it arrives at HKFLIX!
Gokusen (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Comedy A great series, even if it is a bit predictable. Acting is very good and Nakama Yukie does and outstanding job. I always felt good after watching this. Also the Grandpa character is like a Japanese Yoda. I would recommend this to anyone.
