The Iron Fisted Monk (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Another stellar Sammo flick! This one has Chan Sing, Fung Hark-On, and Dean Shek in a dramatic film that pits a town against the Manchus and their oppressive ways. Has some rape scenes in it that are not too pleasant but otherwise a great film and I love Chan Sing, the dude cannot be more badass!
Chinese Super Ninja (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Interesting for its take on ninjas and ninja skills. And Chan Wei Man! On the other hand, can be overly predictable and cheap looking. But worth it, at least for the last set of battles.
Legend Of A Fighter (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Great stuff with Beardy (sans beard in this movie) and Yasuaki Kurata. Kurata has to be one of the most underrated performers in HK cinema and this movie is no exception. Great tale about friendship, nationalism, and family traditions tied up with excerpts of fantastic fighting. Based on the legendary Fok Yuen Gap, as most know.
Dirty Tiger, Crazy Frog (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy One of my favorites! There's just something about Sammo in a film that brings it up a notch... Lau Kar Wing is convincing and charismatic as Dirty Tiger and Sammo as the gullible but skilled Crazy Frog is just pure fun. The break-arm chick is funny and Fung Hark-on even plays a minor role as her boyfriend/thief. The lots of creative fight scenes and continual double-crossing by the two protaganists makes this a fun film to watch!
Mad Monkey Kung Fu (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure An amazing film by Master Lau Kar-Leung! Hsiao Ho is a real find as the monkey-like protoge that winds up taking revenge for his master on the man who crippled his hands.
Stunning agility by Ho and one of the best training sequences ever put on film.
