Police Story (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy "Police Story" is, in my opinion, the greatest film that Jackie Chan has ever made. It is unbelievably funny and still maintains a very serious story: an elite police officer aids in the capture of a known crime lord. When the criminal gets off scott free and tries to frame Jackie for the murder of another police officer, Jackie must go beyond the law to save himself from jail time--all while trying to maintain a relationship with his girlfriend that is jealous of the key witness to his case that he is charged with protecting. This film is the funniest thing I have seen in years and boasts some of Jackie's most impressive stunts.

One of Chan's best if not his best. Incredible stunts
"Death Note 1" is about a law student named Light. He suddenly becomes interested in the fate of criminals the police have been tracking. When he discovers how many go free, he starts to lose his faith in the law. This is when he finds a great gift: a book--and not any book, the Death Note book. Any person’s name that is written in the book will die. But as the death toll rises, the police get suspicious that the deaths are not accidental, and he starts to get carried away with the power of the Death Note. The story is good and the ending you will never predict.
"Death Note 2" continues exactly where "Death Note 1" leaves off. With this installment a new Note Book and a new death god, Misa Amane, a TV actress, finds the book and Light. Two books and two death gods working together for the vision of a new world. But her carelessness and ignorance get her captured. What will light do to avoid capture? I am from China, and I like these movies. A friend ordered this set from HKFlix, and it has the best deal on it. I am a fan of Miyuki Komatsu as Policewoman Sanami. I plan to order my own copy soon.

Azumi (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "Azumi" is an amazing action movie where a young girl named Azumi and her friends undergo a mission to unify Japan by assassinating a warlord that disapproves of the current leadership in Japan. They will face samurai, ninja, mercenaries, and psychopaths. The story is rich and eventful with great character development and some awesome action scenes. The story is exciting and touching.
Shutter [2004] (product link) Horror / Thriller "Shutter" is one of the greatest horror films I have ever seen. I have seen several different imported horrors, and this is one of the best films ever. The story is built well and plays out beautifully, with a wonderful story with a great moral point, and one of the best endings I have encountered over the several hundred horror films I have seen in my life.
The Eye [2002] (product link) Thriller / Horror "The Eye" is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. This movie is very scary at times but it never loses the very well developed story. The acting is incredible, with wonderful characters that really make you feel the story. I believe this is possibly that greatest horror film I have ever seen and would suggest it to anyone that loves a great ghost story.
Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "Ong-Bak" is a good film, starring the amazing Tony Jaa. Jaa plays Ting, a young monk in training. When the head of their sacred statue is stolen by a local drug dealer, he goes to recover it. In his journey he is assisted by Humlae (Petchtai Wongkamlao), a member of the village that had left long ago to seek his fortune. Through several get rich quick scams he has made plenty of enemies that keep them very busy. In the end, the movie is interesting and action-packed. You won't get bored with the action and the story keeps you interested.
The Young Master (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "The Young Master" is a wonderful film from Jackie Chan, where he plays Dragon, a student of Sang Kung's school of martial arts. In a contest with a competing school, his brother betrays their master and wins for there adversaries. After Sang Kung finds out, his brother leaves and Dragon goes on a quest to save his brother from crime lords that plan to manipulate him. He is faced with a rabid cop, the cop's son with a chip on his shoulder, and a master crime lord with very impressive martial arts skill. It is a very funny movie with continuous action. A great example of Jackie Chan's amazing skills.

I am sorry man, but 4 1/2 star, did you not see Jackie getting beat down like no other in the last part of this film? But the guy with the horse kung fu took the show away from Jackie. I believe that this movie is at least 3 stars for the horrible ending
"Operation Condor" is an awesome film. It is like "Indiana Jones" in Asian. It is full of awesome action scenes and a compiling list of characters. The story is based on Jackie Chan as a treasure hunter in search of Nazi gold hidden in a lost base in North Africa, where he encounters several groups also looking for the same treasure with no limits on how far they will go to get it. The story is good and the fighting is awesome. It is truly a great work for a man that can masterly mix action and comedy into a great piece of film.
The "Armor Of God" is the sequel to "Operation Condor". In this installment Jackie's history is revealed, as a young pop singer with a broken heart that leads him to a life as a treasure hunter for hire. This adventure centers around getting the Armor Of God, and rescuing his lost love from the good old days when he was in the band. He is accompanied by her present boyfriend and an expert with the Armor Of God. Will this mismatched team be able to save the Armor and their lives? This is a great addition and continues Jackie Chan's amazing mix of action and comedy.

Police Story 2 (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy "Police Story 2" takes off exactly at the point that the first one left off. After the first exciting adventure of Jackie, he finds himself in need of a vacation. He goes to leave with his girlfriend when he is tracked down by his mangers and brought in on a case of a bomb-planting terrorist, where he is joined by a team of professional trackers to bring these terrorists to justice. Is Jackie the man for this case? Or will they tack everything he loves? This is another action-packed film by Chan and a perfect sequel to such a wonderful film.
The Virgin Suicides (product link) Drama / Art "The Virgin Suicide" is one of the most emotional movies you will ever see. The story is about five friends that had huge crushes on the five girls across the street. When the youngest of the five attempts suicide, their overly protective parents decide they need more social interaction. During a large party, the youngest daughter succeeds at suicide, and the parents go crazy. They lock them up and hide them from the world. The young boys become their only link to the outside world. As their feelings for each other grow, they concoct a plan to meet and run away together. This movie is amazingly emotional and shows a story of growing up with terrible tragedy.
Harakiri [1990] (product link) Horror / Erotica "Harakiri" is an amazing film in the way it presents itself. There is little to no story in each segment. But each segment has a strange beauty to it. The mix of emotion presented by the actress is too hard to explain. The mixture of joy, fear, intrigue, eroticism, and the embrace of death itself creates a rainbow of human emotions. The films are among the bloodiest I have ever seen, with an armature style of filming gives them an amazing feel of reality. The gore effects are off the map. Really, watch this with the right person and their lunch well be in your lap. I would only suggest this to fans of major blood and gore cinema.
2LDK (product link) Dark Comedy / Action/Adventure 2LDK is a dark comedy about two girls that are auditioning for the same part in a movie. Evan though they want the same thing they could not be anymore different. With the stress of an approaching opportunity and the anger they have towards each other comes to a head in a flurry of horrible violence.
The story is amazingly dark and very funny in a way that discusses you to laugh. The ending is very predictable but movies like this are not watched for story. So enjoy the horrible fortunes of these two young girls they would laugh at your pain too...
The Eye 10 (product link) Horror / Thriller "The Eye 10" is the final part of the "Eye" trilogy by the Pang Brothers. If you have not seen a Pang Bothers film, they have an almost magical ability to turn the ordinary into the most horrifying things in your life, but they can also bring a humor to the story and keep it serious at the same time. The movie takes place with five friends that are vacationing in Thailand. One night, as they are sitting telling ghost stories, they try using a book that allows them to see spirits, but it does more then that. During one of the first games, one of their friends disappears without a trace. When nothing is found, they return home and try to carry on their normal lives, which gets more and more difficult as the power of the personal hauntings starts to grow. Soon they realize that they have to return to Thailand and finish the book before the book finishes them.
Parade Parade (product link) Animation / Erotica "Parade Parade" is a decent hentai if you are a fan of "Futanari", the story is lacking but that is the case in almost all hentai. The main character Saki is trying to become a famous pop star and hide the fact that she is a hermaphrodite. The art is good through most of the movie.
Junk (product link) Horror / Thriller I have just finished watching "Junk" and I would like to say this is one of the best zombie movies I have ever seen. I have been a huge fan of George Remora’s work almost my whole life and a great fan of the genre, and "Junk" is one of the best. The story is actually pretty good if you over look some the typical themes like military experiments, a terrible accident and stupid people just asking to be eaten. The gore is pretty heavy in this movie and very well done. So all in all if you like zombie movies you will love this. If you don’t like zombies then get it anyway. I mean monsters, jewel thefts, and the yakuza--what could be better?

Battle Royale (product link) Horror / Thriller "Battle Royale" is an amazing movie where 42 school students are pushed into a game to kill each other; the last one standing wins. The winner is given a great gift: the ability to leave with their life. The game starts with each student given a backpack and inside are food, water, a map, and a random weapon. The effects are awesome and the story is incredible--brutal one minute and lovable and torching the next. Can you trust the people that you fight to survive? Can you even trust your friends?
The Unborn [2003] (product link) Horror / Thriller "The Unborn" is a great supernatural horror flick with a good story and a wonderful ending you will never see coming. The story is about a girl that is brutally beaten over a bad drug deal. When she regains consciousness at the hospital, she receives the news that she is 10 weeks pregnant. But she is being haunted by horrible nightmares, strange hallucinations and the sound of a baby crying. It is not the scariest movie I have ever seen but it is not bad either.
SPL: Sha Po Lang (product link) Crime / Drama "Kill Zone" is an awesome movie. It is the story of Ma Kwun, a dedicated police officer with an adopted daughter, going up against his sworn enemy, Wong Poo, a large scale drug dealer. After Ma is diagnosed with a brain tumor, his best men go on the war path to secure a large some of money for Ma and his daughter after his early retirement. On their mission Wong Poo does not like his money disappearing or being set up for murder.
The film is not as action-filled as some of the other films of similar genres. The story is awesome, the characters are likable. All in all it's a great movie with wonderful characters and a memorable story.
"Dororo" is the tail of Dororo and Hyakkimaru. Hyakkimaru is the son of Kagemitsu Daigo who sold the body of his son to demons for the power to conquer the world. Hyakkimaru is found by a healing shaman and given a fake body. He goes on a quest to kill the 48 demons to get his body back. He is joined by a thief named Dororo who is on a vendetta against Kagemitsu Daigo for the death of her family. They join forces in a similar goal against a menagerie of strange demons and monsters. In the end the story is good with some good sword fight sequences.
"Oneechanbara" is the story of a post apocalyptic Japan over run by zombies. The story of a small group of survivors that ban together in similar goals. The main character Aya is searching for the person that murder her father, Katsuji is searching for his sister, and Reiko is searching for the creator of the zombie plague Dr. Sugita. As with most zombie films the story is not very important. It’s the basic kill everything that moves and well trying not to hurt your friends. The sword fights are like something pulled from Dragon Ball Z, and most the characters are pretty hollow. All in all if you like zombies, swords, and again cowgirls in bikinis you will like this film.
Rob-B-Hood (product link) Action/Adventure / Comedy "Rob-B-Hood" is an action film from Jackie Chan that feels more like his older work with more action and amazing stunts. The story is kind of unusual in that Jackie is a villain. He and his thief friends fall on hard times and end up taking one final job--kidnapping a baby for a crime lord for the amount of $7,000,000--but as soon as they get the kid, everything falls apart. Their leader is arrested and the contact disappears, leaving Jackie and his partner to babysit. Soon they realize they have no idea what to do, and this leads them on a crazy laugh-filled adventure. All in all this is one of the best Jackie Chan movies released recently.
Project A [1983] (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy "Project A" is one of my favorite Jackie Chan movies. It is the story of Dragon Mi Yong, a sailor in the navy. After several botched missions and pirate sabotage, he is forced into the police and the navy is shut down. After the restrictions the police put on them, he quits and joins forces with a thief named Fei to get some stolen rifles that the police had sold to the pirates. After the pirates attack several hostages, Dragon Mi Yong resurrects the navy to hunt down and capture the pirate Lor Sam Pau. The action in this movie is awesome, with one of the best sword fighting scenes I have ever seen.
Audition (product link) Horror / Art "Audition" is the story of Aoyama, a lonely old man that lost his wife several years ago. After a comment from his son that he is looking old, he decides to remarry. He does not want to date or use a match maker, so with the help of a friend they hatch a plan: they will hold an audition for a movie, and the girl they choose will marry Aoyama.
When going through the applicants, he falls for a women named Asami. After a few dates, she vanishes and Aoyama goes on a quest to find her and discover her mysterious past of suffering before she finds him.
I have to say, this may be one of the world’s hardest films to follow. Don’t get me wrong, it is very well done, but you may need to watch it several times to get the general idea of what is going on.
Zee Oui (product link) Drama / Thriller "Zee Oui: The Man-Eater" is the based on a true story of Li Hui Ung, a Chinese immigrant that moves to Thailand in search of work. When he arrives he is sent to work for a family as a chicken butcher. They are mean and torment him, especially their children.
Eventually he steals some money and runs away. He works for a rice farm for awhile, where he is deeply affected by severe asthma. He remembers an old remedy for all things, a broth made from the hearts of humans. He starts abducting children and eating their hearts. He is eventfully captured by the police, with the assistance of an operative reporter.
The movie does a good job of keeping him a person and letting you feel his pain. At times you feel sorry for him and ask yourself "what would I do in his situation?"
Drunken Master (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "Drunken Master" is an earlier film where Jackie Chan plays the role of a spooled child. Through a series of mistakes, he disgraces his father so much that he sends him to a new master. He continues in his arrogant way until he is defeated by a kung fu assassin that belittles him and insults him. He then finds the need for a master and trains hard and eventually is taught the way of the 8 Drunken Gods. At this great moment his father is targeted by the kung fu assassin. Can Jackie defeat him with his new found skills? This is a pretty funny film with some awesome action scenes.
Who Am I? (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "Who Am I" is the usual fare from Jackie Chan: an exciting mix of action-packed martial arts and great humor that never crosses the line into inappropriate behavior.
The story is simple in concept and is well executed. Jackie plays an Elite Special Forces operative that is double-crossed by a CIA double agent. He loses his memory in a helicopter crash and, through a series of unusual events, becomes the greatest celebrity in South Africa. Which brings him to the attention of CIA, police, and military. He teams up with a reporter and race car driver to reclaim his lost memory and discover why he was set up.
It is a very entertaining movie the whole family can enjoy.
Samurai Reincarnation (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts "Samurai Reincarnation" is the story of Shiro, a Christian leader whose followers where slaughtered by the government. When the dust has settled, only he was left. This is when he makes a deal with dead spirits floating between the realms of life and death. He would give them life for their own reasons and revenge. The only one that stands in their way of destroying the government and overthrowing the nation is Jubei, a lone samurai. Will Jubei be able to defeat Shiro and save the nation from the supernatural threat?
The Eye 2 (product link) Horror / Thriller "The Eye 2" is an above average horror movie. After the first one I don’t think this one can compare to the original. The story is more about the Buddhist belief in reincarnation than anything else. The story is good with some big twist during the story and an ending you would never predict. The story is about a young girl named Joey. She is vacationing in Thailand and having problems with her boyfriend. She attempts suicide. When she awakens she soon learns that she is pregnant. That is when she starts to see the spirit of a strange woman. This does not seem to bother her much at first, until she sees the ghost suicide on the subway tracks. Now she has to find out the identity of the depressed specter in order to save her baby and herself.

"The Eye 2" fails where the first one succeeds. The film itself is overlong, and too predictable. It seemed as if the directors didn't even try to scare the audiece too, it just a sequel to make quick cash. Horror sequels often fail hard.
Bunshinsaba (product link) Horror / Thriller "Witch Board" is a horror movie with a pretty good story, where a group of kids are bullied at school, and when they are pushed too far they go to drastic lengths to get revenge. They use a magic spell to summon an evil spirit to seek their revenge, but something goes wrong and the evil presence possesses one of the girls. A few days later the first girl on the list commits suicide. Can they find a way to put the spirit to rest before the rest of them are taken by the spirit's revenge? Will the world discover the secret that fuels the spirit's hate?
There are some very interesting concepts in this movie with some exchanges between the spirit and the possessed. The effects are good and it has some good surprise shock scenes.
13: Game Of Death (product link) Horror / Thriller "13: Game Of Death" is the story of men with nothing to lose and everything to game. After he lost his job, his car, and his hop he receives a phone call with a way out: play the game and win $100,000,000. How far would you go? 13 challenges, he finds that this is his only way to improve his situation. First challenge: kill the fly in the stairwell with you. Second challenge: eat the fly. Would you go this far? There are some very graphic scenes and some terrible events in this film. Also you will never see the ending coming until you see it.
Inside (product link) Horror / Thriller "Inside" is a total bloodbath. I pride myself on looking for the best and bloodiest of gore and this is one of the worst. The story is almost nonexistent. A women is nine months pregnant and awaiting the hospital to induce labor when she wakes up in the middle of the night to the doorbell and a mysterious woman that knows her entire life story. She has come for the child, scissors in hand, and not leaving with what she wants. The effects are well done and the story is very twisted--not for the faint of heart.

come on, I liked it too and found the violence in it shocking, but there were quite a few plot holes and stuff that would never happen in real life, these things really bothered me and made me enjoy it a whole lot less
Azumi 2 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "Azumi 2" is the sequel to one of my favorite fighting movies ever. In this chapter "Azumi" and Nagara continue in on the path to complete their mission. After Nagara is injured, Azumi goes to town for food, where she meets a group of bandits that eventually join her. She's also joined by a ninja to help her complete her mission. There are some new cool villains and a few old ones as well. Basically, if you like the original, you will most likely like this one as well.
The Suicide Manual (product link) Horror / Thriller "The Suicide Manual" is an interesting peace of film that depicts the struggle of a young boy and his female friend that is investigating a strange video for his news job. When he meets a strange girl that lends him a copy of the mysterious video, Witch rings up the internal conflict that he struggles with to find purpose of his life. There is little gore and very little instruction but it does have a good story. With an ending that leaves you shaking your head.
The Sisters (product link) Horror / Thriller "The Sisters" is a good horror movie that starts at a hotel room where people are lured to the air-conditioning vent one by one until they all leave the room in fear. Once they leave the room a series of strange accidents starts to kill them each one after another. When they search for help from the local monks, they inform them that they are under the curse of a decapitated prostitute that haunts their room. They're are given a cure for their curse, but can they save themselves before the curse consumes them all?
Police Story 3: Supercop (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy "Supercop" is the third in the "Police Story" series. I was looking forward to watching this film and it has a great mix of Jackie Chan's amazing martial arts and slapstick humor.
"The Legend of Drunken Master" ("Drunken Master 2") is the story of Wong Fei-Hung. He is sober and taking a pledge of non-violence. On a return trip from getting herbs for his father's medical practice, he smuggles ginseng aboard the train. When he goes to retry it he gets in a fight with a special agent of the government. When he gets home he discovers he has a stolen jade seal. He is tracked by a government agent who plans on steeling the seal and selling it abroad. He is forced to draw up his wine and take back the history of his great nation. This is one of the funniest Jackie Chan movies ever with some of the most skillful fighting I have seen him perform. A definite must-see film.
"Project A 2" is the sequel to "Project A", where Dragon Mao is now a decorated officer of the navy. He and his team from the first movie are recruited by the police to help fix the problems with the most crime-infested district in Hong Kong. As he makes the city safer he gets more and more enemies, eventually being set up by the rebellion, hunted by corrupt police officers, and tracked down from pirates with a grudge over their lost captain. All in all I think this film is kind of average in comparison to his other films.
The Orphanage (product link) Ghost / Thriller "The Orphanage" is a Spanish horror-thriller film. The story is the tale of Laura, who moves into to her old orphanage with her husband and adopted son Simon. Simon starts making friends with six invisible children lead by Thomas. One day he vanishes without a trace. She goes on a hunt to find him before time runs out. I would say more but I would be afraid of giving up any plot points.
The movie builds great suspense but it never really goes for a big shock scare. It uses small details and subtlety to generate horror, which it does masterfully. All in all a decent watch for a couple of trips to an abandoned orphanage where you watch the story the first time and the details you missed the second time.
Tom Yum Goong (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "The Protector" is a slightly above average martial arts film. If you love Muay Thai fighting styles, you will love the action in this movie. The story I think was rather thin: a Thai boy named Kham must find the people that stole his elephant. On the way, he stumbles upon a gang conspiracy, crooked cops, and some insane martial artists. The action scenes are good, but the story just seems to drag on and skew off in directions that have little to do with the main character.
I have not seen the short version - The Protector. Tom Yum Goong is not the best perhaps in script but you have to admit Jaa does things no one else has ever done!
"Nightmare Detective" is the story of a young woman that has joined the local police force when, one day early in her career, she is called to the scene of a strange death. When they arrive, they find a young woman with a slashed throat. It appears to be the scene of a very bloody and horrific suicide. The only evidence is a strange phone number found on the victim's phone.
When later that day they report to the scene of another suicide, witnessed by the victim's wife. The victim lay in bed and repetitively stabbed himself in the neck. Again the strange phone number is the only lead.
So, with little evidence to go on, the only plan is to get the killer to reveal themself by calling the strange number. Soon after the call, the officer that called the number is found dead. In her desperation, our protagonist calls the mystery number and, with the help of a dream-reading psychic, they try to break the case before the killer finds them.
The overall story is okay. The gore effects are pretty well done--not the best, but still very good. Not a bad watch overall.
