The Blade (product link) Swordplay/Sword(s) / Action/Adventure Unbelievable movie. Not non-stop action, but still one of my favorite martial arts movies. Tsui Hark (director) is a genius. Vincent Zhao and Hung Yan Yan are great.
A Better Tomorrow 3 (product link) Action/Adventure / Bullet Ballet Ok movie. I think only for hardcore Chow Yun Fat fans. Not nearly as good as the first one.
Bichunmoo (product link) Drama / Action/Adventure Awesome movie. Story is a little too sappy, but if you like some wire work, bodies being sliced in half, solid martial arts, this is a cool movie. Definitely recommend it.
Big Bullet (product link) Drama / Bullet Ballet Kind of disappointing. Won one award at the Hong Kong Film Awards and was nominated for quite a few others, but I didn't think it was anything special. Ok story, ok acting, ok action.
Blade Of Fury (product link) Martial Arts / Swordplay/Sword(s) Ok martial arts movie. Watching the dubbed version may have made it worse. Pretty good action and fighting. Sammo Hung plays a strange prison guard. Recommend as an addition to a martial arts collection, definitely not a necessity.
The Chinese Feast (product link) Comedy / Drama Great non-martial arts movie with martial arts-type feel. Cool story, yummy food. I'm not a big Leslie Cheung fan, but I like this one. Vincent Zhao and Hung Yan Yan are great too. Another awesome Tsui Hark creation.
Dr. Wai In The Scripture With No Words (product link) Martial Arts / Fantasy Much better than expected. Billed as a Jet Li Indiana Jones movie but supposedly not nearly as good. I thought it had a great story, some humor, impressive action. A definite for Jet Li fans.
The Eagle Shooting Heroes [Film] (product link) Fantasy / Martial Arts Maybe I missed something, but I did not enjoy this one. Great cast, but really stupid, confusing, not funny, poor use of wires, completely absurd. I usually like this type of movie, but I don't want to even watch this again.
Flying Dagger (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy I was disappointed with this. It was confusing, strange, funny in parts, but I expected a much better movie overall. This is rare for me, but I don't want to watch this movie again.
Friend [2001] (product link) Crime / Drama Great growing-up-on-the-streets Korean movie. Not a "gangster" movie, but gang-related. Moving story, brutal, heart-breaking scenes. A Korean classic.
The Lovers [1991] (product link) Romance Ok movie. Cheesy story but not that bad. Not one of my favorites from him, but still a decent Tsui Hark movie.
Nowhere To Hide (product link) Action/Adventure / Crime Ok movie. A couple of big names from Korea, but a little absurd. People say the Matrix took one the fight scenes from this movie. A little disappointing but still not that bad.
Once Upon A Time In China 5 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Pretty good movie. I love Vincent Zhao and Hung Yan Yan, so I like this one. Not as good or original as the first two OUATIC movies, but a good Tsui Hark picture.
The Raid (product link) Action/Adventure Disappointing. I expected much better from Tsui Hark. A few big names, but kind of lame action, not a great story.
Sino-Dutch War 1661 (product link) Historical / War Not a bad movie. A little political, but I love Vincent Zhao. Not your typical martial arts movie. This is more of an attempt at an epic, but some ok action.
The Tai Chi Master [1993] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Awesome Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh movie. Awesome fighting, good story, a must for 90s martial arts fans.
What Price Survival (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Artistic martial arts movie. Just ok fighting. The camera moves too much, and the screen cuts from one view to another way too often. You can't really see what's happening, so not good for pure martial arts fans. Interesting revenge story.
Wing Chun (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Great martial arts movie. I love Michelle Yeoh and especially Donnie Yen. Some very funny parts, too. A definite for 90s martial arts fans.
A Chinese Odyssey 2: Cinderella [2-Disc Set] (product link) Comedy / Drama Fabulous Stephen Chow follow-up to A Chinese Odyssey 1. He was made for the Monkey King part. Very funny movie, extremely creative, good action, awesome story, great costumes. A must for Hong Kong/Chinese movie viewers.
Azumi (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Weak action. This reminds me of one of the new style movies with singers (non-actors and actresses) in the main roles. These kids had no business being in a swordplay movie. If you're looking for good martial arts action, don't watch this one.
The Butterfly Murders (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Solid old school kung fu flick with some mystery. I'm more into the 90s and later stuff, but I had to see this one because it's Tsui Hark.
The King And The Clown [China DVD-5] (product link) Drama / Comedy Awesome Korean movie. Great acting, funny story, fabulous costumes and settings. And it's loosely based on one of Korea's real kings who was a little nutty.
New Police Story (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts I was disappointed. I had read that this was Jackie Chan's best movie in a long time, but I didn't like it very much. A little too dramatic.

Like many of Jackies later films, this one follows a familiar pattern: strong begining, boring middle and terrific ending. Three stars is about right for this one.
The Soul Guardians (product link) Horror / Action/Adventure Pretty weird but interesting. Got it because I like Ahn Seong-Ki and Shin Hyun-Jun. Can't recommend you go out of your way to see this, but if you get a chance and like Korean movies, it's not bad.
Fire Dragon (product link) Martial Arts / Fantasy If you like any of the wire-inspired 90s kung fu movies, and especially if you like Brigitte Lin, you'll love this one. Great fighting, and the story's okay. Check this one out.
Cyclo (product link) Drama / Art A very well done and (seemingly) real movie, but pretty depressing. I didn't really read the description before buying it, but I thought it was just a love story between Tony Leung and a Vietnamese girl. I can see why it won some international film fest awards, but then, most of the movies that win those awards are a little strange and mostly sad.
