| This DVD contains three excellent quality short films with no dialogue by the underground director Nacho Cerdà. The Awakening, Aftermath and Genesis deal with the subject of death and it's related aspects in a highly artistic way. The Awakening is a strange dreamlike black and white film about actual physical death. Aftermath on the other hand is very realistic and looks at what might happen to the body after death. It is one of the most extreme horror films that I've ever seen as it features extreme gore, realistic autopsy procedures and necrophilia, which makes it very difficult to watch. The final film, Genesis, is fantastical and deals with the emotions and sadness that a surviving lover endures when his loved one is killed. All three of these films have been constructed with a great amount of care and effort. The autopsy procedures are quite accurate in their realism and the special effects are outstanding.
This DVD is region free, at a very good price and is a must for any extreme horror film fan. It also features in depth interviews, and trailers.
All in all, this is an excellent collection of films and a must for any extreme horror film fan. |
