The Wong Kar-Wai Collection [5-Disc Set] (product link) Art / Drama "The Wong Kar-Wai Collection" is a must have! Although it lacks some of his later classics, like "In The Mood For Love", you can't go wrong with this set of films. Whether you're a fan of the more straightforward "As Tears Go By", the action of "Fallen Angels", or the quiet artsy feel of "Happy Together", there's bound to be something for every Hong Kong fan in this box set.
From Beijing With Love (product link) Nonsense Comedy / Action/Adventure Stephen Chow takes on James Bond in this classic from his early directorial career.
Although this is a comedy, Stephen Chow and Anita Yuen both put their all into their roles. Stephen Chow brings a good Inspector Clouseau feel to his character. The direction has a bit of a Wong Jing feel--but the good aspects of Wong Jing movies. Surprisingly, there is no homage to Bruce Lee in this film, but there are a lot of great knife sequences.
One of Stephen Chow's better films provides side splitting laughs!
The Inspector Wears Skirts 2 (product link) Action/Adventure / Girls With Guns Unfortunately, this is one of the far lesser movies from the Girls 'N Guns genre. The performances are nothing special and neither is the direction, and the writing is horrible.
There's hardly any action in this movie. There are a couple decent training scenes. The competition fights are better than the ones in the first movie. There are some good falls here and there. The finale is very disappointing. The last ten minutes or so are just completely thrown in haphazardly.
