The Chinese Stuntman (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Another typical Bruce Li exploitation kung fu flick. Crappy acting, editing, and only mediocre kung fu.
Challenge Of The Masters (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure An early, really good Shaw Brothers flick starring Chen Kuan Tai and directed by Lau Kar Leung.
The Martial Club (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Great Shaw Brothers classic starring Gordon Liu as Wong Fei Hung, with many superb fight scenes directed by Lau Kar Leung. A must-see.
Opium And The Kung-Fu Master (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Really good Shaw Brothers kung fu flick starring the great Ti Lung, and as usual Lee Hoi Sang shows up.
The Heroic Ones (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Pretty good Shaw Brothers kung fu movie from 1971 starring, amongst others, David Chiang and Ti Lung. It's all about male friendship and honour as usual for a Chang Cheh movie.
Showdown At The Cotton Mill (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure A pretty standard 70s kung fu flick, and the movie could definitely use more of super kicker Tan Tao Liang, who shines in every fight scene he is in.
The Blade (product link) Swordplay/Sword(s) / Action/Adventure A pretty good rethinking of the old Shaw Brothers classic, "The One Armed Swordsman". Visually beautiful and with good direction by Tsui Hark, but the overuse of undercranking diminishes the fight scenes. Still a good little kung fu drama.
Heroes Two (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts A solid Shaw Brothers Chang Cheh movie starring Chen Kuan Tai and charismatic newcomer Fu Sheng. Lots of good little fights (for the time, 1972) with good action direction by master Lau Kar Leung.
Three Evil Masters (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Pretty good kung fu flick with some very acrobatic kung fu, especially by first time leading man Yuan Tak. Chen Kuan Tai is typically impressive in a co-starring role. Yuan Tak is a strangely feminine looking leading man, and this is one of the few times he got to be anything but a heavy or a stunt double.
The Tournament [1974] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Angela Mao is great, but the movie is not. Sloppy editing, poor production values, and repetitive Thai boxing scenes make this movie less than good. But if you like Angela Mao, see this because she is amazing. Sammo Hung is action director and has a small role.
Stoner (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Sleazy beginning of the 70s kung fu movie starring Angela Mao (great) and one-time Bond George Lazenby. The movie is dark and has too many night scenes and not enough Whong In-Sik. Sammo Hung apears as a heavy and was the action director on the movie.
The Deadly Duo (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure A typical Chang Cheh/Shaw Brothers movie, dealing with the special bond between male fighters, honor, and chivalry. David Chiang and Ti lung are great, but the action scenes look dated. But the movie is from 1972. Still, if you like Shaw Brothers, then don't miss this.
For A Few Dollars More (product link) Western / Action/Adventure This entry in the "Dollars" trilogy is a major improvement on the first. Even better direction, Morricone score, editing and acting helped a lot by veteran Lee Van Cleef... This movie is pure fun. Another must-see from Leone.
Fistful Of Dollars (product link) Western / Action/Adventure The first of Leone's spaghetti westerns. A remake of Akira Kurosawa's classic "Yojimbo". An iconic turn by Eastwood, a cool score by Morricone, and solid, innovative direction by master filmmaker Leone. A must-see.
Duck, You Sucker (product link) Western / Action/Adventure Another spaghetti western classic from the master, Sergio Leone. starring Rod Steiger and James Coburn, who both shine. Great, eerie score by Morricone and awesome action scenes. Not the best of Leone's westerns but still light years ahead of anyone else. A must-see
Ong-Bak 2 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Another kung fu classic from Tony Jaa. The man is even better than a young Jackie Chan (and that is something). The action is out of this world, the editing and camerawork both fantastic, and even the music is good. The plot of the movie seems somewhat choppy, but this is a surefire kung fu classic.
Street Fighter (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts This movie sucks. No decent fights, or action scenes. just awful over-acting and stupid dialogue. The pits!
Quarantine (product link) Horror / Thriller A pretty scary little zombie flick. It's a really good remake of the movie "[REC]". The sound in this movie is fantastic, and it certainly delivers on the scares. Not enough gore for my taste, but what there is, is great. If you like zombie movies, then this is for you.
Police Story 3: Supercop (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy An okay Jackie Chan flick with the great Michelle Yeoh in the co-starring role. Great stunts galore, but the movie seems slow in the second reel--but then the final reel is all action. Another entertaining movie in Jackie's canon.
Tom Yum Goong (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure A kung fu classic. The movie itself is not very good, but the fighting is better than anything else these days. Tony Jaa is by far the best kung fu guy right now.
The Day The Earth Stood Still [1951] (product link) Science Fiction / Drama A sci-fi classic with a message of peace, and the coolest robot in history. A must-see.
Trauma [1993] (product link) Horror / Thriller A lesser Argento movie for sure. His American movies lacked the freshness and style of his Italian ones. Not really scary or interesting. See this if you can't get enough Argento.
An American Werewolf In London (product link) Horror / Thriller A funny and scary horror classic, with superb makeup effects by Rick Baker. The best werewolf movie around. See this!
Office Space (product link) Comedy / Crime A pretty funny little movie, with some great dialog and observations. See this if you are tired of your dead-end job.
Friday The 13th Part 3 (product link) Horror / Thriller Better pacing than the second instalment of "Friday The 13th" but still only a mediocre slasher flick, with only a few scares and some laugh-out-loud special effects (the headcrushing scene when the eye pops out). As it turns, it's out one of the best in the series--only parts 1 and 4 are better.
Friday The 13th Part 2 (product link) Horror / Thriller This is a crappy slasher movie with poor acting, bad plotting, below par makeup effects, and it is as scary as an episode of "Murder She Wrote". Definitely a lesser entry in the "Friday The 13th Series". And Jason doesn't even wear his trademark hockey mask and doesn't bulk up until the next one.
Friday The 13th [1980] (product link) Horror / Thriller [Warning: last sentence contains spoilers.] This "Halloween" rip-off is gorier and a lot less scary, with almost none of "Halloween's" stylish touches. But it has great makeup effects by legendary effects whiz Tom Savini, a great score, and a bravura finale when Jason appears out of the lake.
The Boondock Saints (product link) Crime / Action/Adventure A cool, stylish action-drama with some great humor and acting and shootout scenes. See this if you like like action movies.
Howard The Duck (product link) Comedy / Action/Adventure This movie is boring, silly, stupid, and the only good thing in it is the spetacular stop-motion effects in the end.

This was probably the biggest disappointment of films I actually paid to watch. It is truly dreadful. As for the running time, PAL is mastered at a greater speed than other formats, compressing running time and slightly speeding action and dialogue.
hang on folks...this movie was made in the wonderful 80's...HTD is AWESOME and could quite possibly be the ET for big kids...let's not forget that Lea is HOT. Thanks, Regi
The Matrix (product link) Science Fiction / Martial Arts A clasic sci-fi-kung-fu-action movie. With the best-ever shootout scene (the one when Neo and Trinity go to rescue Morpheus). Great screenplay, acting, editing and a killer rock score. Don't miss.
