| This little gem is from 1990 and is one of the last few horror-comedy gems to come from the end of that short-lived 80s era. While it's not quite as good as Henenlotter's "Brain Damage" or Muro's "Street Trash", it's still a decent 80s horror-comedy most people have forgotten or probably never seen.
This movie is about a guy whose girlfriend dies in a tragic lawnmower accident, and he decides to bring her back to life using parts from hookers. This is not a serious movie much like "Night of the Creeps" or even "Fright Night". The gore is there, but don't expect the most grotesque stuff you've ever seen. This movie tries to use the gore in a classy/humorous way and actually succeeds.
This movie's only real downfall is that it feels slightly dated, and a large amount of the jokes are corny or you can already tell they're coming. There are a few suprises in this movie that I wasn't expecting. If you want a good cheesey horror-comedy and don't mind watching something that doesn't ever take itself seriously, then this movie is probably for you. However, if you want a gorefest or a serious horror movie, you should look elsewhere. |
