The Eel (product link) Drama I have lived in Japan for several years, so I have a fondness for Japanese cinema. I loved this film for the fact that it was not uniquely Japanese. It tells a story that is universally accepting and appealing no matter where in the world you call home.
Mad Detective (product link) Drama / Crime [Possible Spoilers.]A very imaginative film with a great cast of characters. I really loved this film, but I had hoped for a happy ending for the "Mad Detective".
Oldboy (product link) Thriller / Action/Adventure A revenge film like no other! One film of a trilogy all about vengence, however this is the best one hands down.
Graveyard Of Honor [2002] (product link) Crime / Action/Adventure This was a very dark and bloody film by Takashi Miike. As a cult director he always seems to hit the mark and gives the viewer more to focus on than just mindless violence and gore, which makes for a good watch. Great film!
Dark Habits (product link) Drama / Comedy As a fan of Pedro Almodovar, I have made it my mission to collect all of his earlier works to see his growth as a director. His movies still carry a great deal of shock factor to them, and this film is no exception. Overall I was only slightly disappointed with the film because it left me wanting more. This film may be for the die hard Almodovar fans only.
Five Shaolin Masters (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I purchased this film for nostalgic reasons and boy was it not the best choice. I am a fan of the Shaw Brothers so I knew what I was getting myself into. The storyline was good, but the film seemed to drag on at times and I have seem better choreography in some of the other SB films. It's a classic and a keeper, but just not their best.
