This is quite simply an all-time classic! A very young Sammo Hung is magnificent as a deadly Japanese criminal-gang leader. There are many famous faces to be found, and the film is one of the best made by King Hu.
Basic plot - Japanese ronin have teamed up with Chinese gangs and plague the Chinese coast, robbing & killing unchecked. So, a group of fighters is sent to defeat them. Including the stunning, deadly Mrs Wu and her magnificent husband, the "Whirlwind". There are too many great, original, dynamic fight scenes to mention. Just buy this film if you are even remotely intersted in martial arts or action films. The ending, not to give anything away, is typically Chinese... |
