Dragon Squad [2005] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Oh man, the story of this film was just terrible, I cannot believe that it was even made. The one good thing about this film is that it ends, and even the ending will piss you off because it is so corny. Stay away from this film PLEASE!! For the love of God, stay away.
The Restless (product link) Action/Adventure / Fantasy The plot of the film is not really a strong one. There will be times where you are left scratching your head hoping for an explanation for certain things. But what truly saved the film for me and for some people who agree with me is CGI and the landscape of Midheaven. And the action sequences--even though there are not many, they don't disappoint. The biggest scene stealer would have to be the protagonist vs. 5,000 to 10,000 demon soldiers. The acting is a bit stiff and the female star of the film (Kim Tae-Hee) really needs to learn how to have more than just two facial expresions (a surprised expresion or a sad expresion). She has shown promise but she has long way to go. So in closing, the story could have been executed better but the CGI deffinetly makes up for it. See it only if you are into the Asian fantasy genre.
Failan (product link) Drama / Romance I have not seen a film this good and heartbreaking since The Notebook. Bring the tissues for your girls (and for the guy when your ladies are not looking) cause this is a very sad film. 2 very big thumbs up from me.
Typhoon (product link) Action/Adventure / Drama This is the best action film I have seen for 2007 so far. I heard that Dreamworks is bringing this to the U.S and for every good reason. Jang Dong-gun again proves that he is one of the best Korean and Asian actor out there today. It is very rare when you have a movie that has both great Action and a great plot mixed together. See get this movie now cause you never know if they end up cutting parts of the film. American companies has a bad habit of doing that.

I get scared when we try to re-make an asian film-even if the director is involved. But at least we have this version. . .and it's killer.
Dark Assassin (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Oh man was this movie bad. Even though the hand-to-hand combat near the climax is good, the movie held back too much. The story was weak and the actors were even more weak. If you have seen "Ong-Bak" or "Tom Yum Goong" then you will hate this movie, because it take 30 steps backward from the action. I strongly advise anyone--even the employees of HKFlix--not to see this film.
The Scarlet Letter (product link) Drama / Thriller The movie is great but it's not really what the back cover makes you believe. Yes there is a murder but that takes a back seat in the movie and they mainly focus more on his affair that he is having. And it is not with Kyong-Hee like the plot in this page says. He has a fantasy sex scene with her but he never slept with her. The story is really a twisted affair gone wrong and I loves it a lot. Every character has a secret that starts to reveal itself as the end nears. And the late Lee eun-joo gives a performance that I think that if she was alive she would've won a lot of awards. This movie is a good drama and I think anyone would like it.
2009 Lost Memories (product link) Science Fiction / Action/Adventure I love this film I think it's one of the best Asian movies I have ever seen. This is the reason I started seeing them.
Sympathy For Lady Vengeance (product link) Thriller / Crime This is a great movie, the best of the vengeance trilogy. If you are a parent, you will find this film disturbing.
