Bio: I am a movie fanatic and have always been one since I was a child. I can watch any type of movies and hold no boundaries on what genres I would watch. However, martial arts, action, and horror are still my favorite all the way. I know alot, and probably way too much about films and feel I can offer some very worthy perspectives on films and entertainment. I love to learn more about films and learning overall so my mind never wears out. Hit me up if you have any questions whatsoever.
Death Proof (product link) Action/Adventure / Thriller Great film, reminds a lot of people who grew up in the 60's - 80's of the grindhouse era, and it's just pure fun. I suggest anyone who comes across this film to give it a go. ;)

I completely agree. This was one of Tarantino's best offerings and it utilizes all of his trademarks in fluid and compelling manor. A bunch of people don't get this movie and it's a shame.
I think the idea, Mad Monkey, is that even though Tarantino sets them up as being a fairly shallow bunch, we still end up feeling saddened after witnessing their tragic fate. In the end, their characters are mere fodder for introducing Russell's maniac.
Action scenes in the movie merit a 4/5, but half the movie is dialogue where superficial girls are flirting and prattling on. Rather than building sympathy for the girls, I felt happy to see them annihilated, if only the annoying torrent of blether would
The Tiger Blade (product link) Action/Adventure / Crime Honestly, I expected something decent from this film ever since Thailand put out films like "Ong-Bak", "The Protector", and "Born To Fight"; but man this film is horrible, from the acting, the action, and everything about it. I definitely don't recommend this film at all.
Flash Point (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Craziest action sequences in almost a decade. The story may be little weak but the action makes up for all of it!!
Dororo (product link) Action/Adventure / Fantasy The movie was great because it was so balanced out--and Ching Siu Tung did the action choregraphy,so you know that's a thumbs up!!! I recommend it!
Fatal Move (product link) Crime / Martial Arts It was a pretty bad film overall--the story was messy and there was barely any character development. But the final showdown between Wu Jing and Sammo Hung was pretty good. However, the way it happend was very dumb, so basically go watch another martial arts flick or crime flick besides this one unless you really want to see it badly. Oh and the cameos are very good too, even though the film's bad.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre [1974] (product link) Horror / Thriller Tobe Hooper's best film, since most of his other films were bad. This is probably the most tense and crazy horror movie ever because it lacked gore but managed to scare the crap out of you. It creeped me out to death and is recommended only for those who love horror films and don't have a weak and easily offended mind because of its "violence".
Kiltro (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts I was a bit disappointed with the film because of its lack of action, since most of the film revolves around a weak story, poor scipt, and okay acting. The 3D was also very corny. However, the fight scene in the alleyway was very good. It's worth a look since the man has potential.
The Forbidden Kingdom (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Jet Li vs. Jackie Chan, what'd you expect? The film has some decent action and both of the actors deliver an incredible fight scene, but the story reminded me of "Warriors of Virtue" with the kid going into an ancient land and all. I was hoping to see Jackie Chan and Jet Li fight in a non-wireworked film, but this is a fantasy film so you can't help it even though they both used doubles. It's a great film to watch and is very entertaining, but if you're not a fan of wirework then you may not like this film as much as I did.
Ninja In Ancient China (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Not as great as his other films, since this is a low budget film after all. The fight scenes weren't all that great, the acting was pretty bad, the story was your typical bloodshed story, and everything played out how you'd expect it to. Worth picking up if you're a fan of the man's work.
Three Kingdoms: Resurrection Of The Dragon (product link) Drama / Historical It was much better than I thought, since I'm not a fan of the Daniel Lee, except for "Black Mask". The story however was too, too fast-paced and the fight scenes are barely watchable, just like "Dragon Heat". I thought the acting was great though from every actor and the cameos almost made me cry. I just wished they developed the love story between Andy Lau and his girlfriend more, since it's only touched on for about five minutes or so. I recommend this for everyone to see, but don't go in expecting something spectacular.
The Ruins (product link) Horror / Thriller This film is tense, gory, and shows what happens when people start freaking out because of fear and deception. Definitely watch this film. Highly recommended.
Sukiyaki Western Django (product link) Action/Adventure / Western Very stylized film and a good spagetti western film, but the Japanese actors have pretty bad English and the only one you can really understand is the guest actor. It's worth a look.
Mad Detective (product link) Drama / Crime Had me going from beggining to end. The actors were excellent and the story is a work of genius. Johnny To has done it again!!
The Big Boss (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Bruce Lee is my idol and this made me love martial arts; so it's definitely recommended for fans of Bruce Lee, martial arts, and martial arts movies.
Kid From Kwangtung (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I felt that the film was a bit too cheesy and was a bit of a disappointment, even though Hwang Jang-Lee and Wong Yu were both in here. For one thing, the comedy isn't all that funny and Hwang Jang-Lee seems to be the only one who was actually doing any impressive moves. Yuen Tak was also wasted in this film. It's worth a check but nothing more from what I think.

This movie is crazy sick. This review is a disappointment. Who cares about the comedy, Hsa Hsia did is job well. And you have to give Yang Yu his props, because he was believeable as a martial artist is this film.
Chocolate [2008] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure She has potential, but the parts where there was wirework were pretty bad since it's obvious. The acting was okay, nothing spectacular, and the best fight scene is the "Kill Bill" homage towards the end. I recommend it for the action but nothing else, since you'll probably watch it a couple of times.

I'm a little more excited about the film than 3 stars
L: Change The World (product link) Thriller / Science Fiction This is nothing like "Death Note", since it has nothing to do with it except for the Shinigami cameo and the character L, since it picks up before he dies. The film was disappointing to me because of the retarded story that seemed more like a "28 Days Later" plot, and the film seemed very dull compared to the "Death Note" franchise since there was no twist, tension, nor anything worth remembering. Only worth watching if you want to see what happens to L before he dies.

Personally I found this on a par wth the Death Note films. D.N. connection or no connection Iit's a good stand alone film and honestly L was the one character from Death Note I found interesting. It's nice getting a more character development.
The Warlords (product link) Action/Adventure / War See Jet Li's best acting ever!!! I mean, he does steal all of the camera time from every single actor and got the highest pay for the film too. The action scenes aren't anything like his previous films and stick to a more raw and gritty war appeal, though there isn't much to begin with. Overall, watch the film, it's entertaining and Jet Li does his thing definitely.

I did not like this picture, it was an okay film and all but I've seen epic battle films a lot & the action battle scenes just look the same.
The Machine Girl (product link) Action/Adventure / Girls With Guns PURE INSANITY!!! if you're not into crazy films then back off, otherwise this film is awesome for having everything mixed up into one and it's very extreme indeed.
B13: Banlieue 13 (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Not bad, but could've been better if it had a little more action, since the plot wasn't interesting.
Kill Bill Vol. 2 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Not as great as the first segment, but if you're a huge movie fan you'll enjoy this as much as I did because of all the homages and references Quentin used to make this film--I thought it was excellent. The acting is above average, the cameos are plenty, and it's overall a great film, both this and the first.
Kill Bill Vol. 1 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Awesome, watch both parts as a whole, not as two different films. This film was made as an homage and throwback to everything Quentin Tarantino enjoys and is sure a pleaser to those who enjoy the same things.
Transformers [2007] (product link) Action/Adventure / Science Fiction Very entertaining, you get to see a lot of action and it is a funny film too. The best part is the transformers' action, highly recommended.
Never Back Down (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts It's pretty much "Bloodsport" + "The O.C." + MMA. The film has heart but it seems like a teen drama with MMA thrown in for the heck of it. Not a bad film, though the teacher seems like he can own everyone in this film. There are very few action scenes in here and the training sequences could've been longer and the film could've been more developed.
the film was all right- not the worse I have seen this year but not the best. It has it's moments & the movie is just a popcorn B-movie. It's like one of those films they use to make in the early 90's & u would have to find it at the $1 video store.
Doomsday (product link) Science Fiction / Action/Adventure Not as great as the director's previous films but entertaining overall. The references were cool, but the pacing and editing were pretty bad and actually made you wonder when the film was going to be over. Not a bad film, but not a great one either.

Marshall should have took all the money used for this flick and directed a sequel to Dog Soliders instead.
I gave this film zero stars because I felt the director just copped out on this film stealing everything he likes from other movies and putting it into this pic. I do agree that the pacing & editing were really bad though.
28 Weeks Later (product link) Horror / Thriller If the world ever became infected with a crazy disease or virus, this film pretty much shows you how things would go. Very real and brutal but that's how reality is. Definitely recommended.
28 Days Later (product link) Horror / Thriller I liked the second part better, but this one is still a classic. Make sure to check out this one and the second one or you'll miss out.
Perhaps Love [2005] (product link) Musical / Romance Your typical love story, but it's still a good film. The music is great, the cast does a good acting job, the scenery is awesome; but most of all, Jacky Cheung is the gem of the film because he delivers the best singing vocals and acting.

Agree- your typical love story but I found it all right.
The Signal (product link) Science Fiction / Horror It was a good film--very violent and crazy--but some parts felt way too long. The pacing could've been worked on, but overall this is a good film worth watching.

A agree this is a 4 star pic. the pacing did feel long & uneven but I thought ithe film itself was good none the less.
Cloverfield (product link) Horror / Science Fiction The only complaint I have about this film is that it's never the same as the first time you viewed it, because you know what happens next and you've already experienced all of the emotions the film puts you through. Definitely a classic.

JV's right, this movie is crapped on a lot for no reason. It's a great adventure that has several enjoyable aspects. Very awesome and worth owning.
The Eye [2008] (product link) Horror / Thriller Not a bad remake, but that's because it copied 90 percent of the original. So, like I've said before, GO WATCH THE ORIGINAL AND SKIP THE REMAKE!

I would of rated this lowered but it copied 90 percent of the film. Yeah skip this mess.
House Of Fury (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Don't let the cover fool you, because it fooled me. It's not a bad film, but the script hurt it, along with the-most-harmless-villain-ever-put-on-film. Check it out for the Yuen Wo Ping fighting and little-white-kid-that-knows-how-to-fight-pretty-damn-well.

That sounds about right. This is a middle of the road fu movie with a little charm.
Hero [2002] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Beautiful. Great action, great story, everything's perfect and you're missing out if you haven't seen this film.

Incredibly pretentious and ridiculous. This may be the only movie in history more stagey than Kurosawa's Ran. And the wirework is done to the point of stupidity.
Re-Cycle (product link) Horror / Thriller Not as great as "The Eye", but better than most of the crap the Pang Brothers have been throwing out lately. The movie looks visually impressive, the acting is good, and the story is interesting; but the overall film is okay. Worth a check.
