Mantis Under Falcon Claws (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This movie was sad. There is an excellent flick called "The Challenger" that gives you a good look at the art of the praying mantis. Now that is a very good movie--it's not the fastest action flick, but it holds its ground when it comes to great martial arts movies in my book.
Knockabout (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Knockabout is a film that gives you a good laugh and a good look at monkey kung fu. Lau Kar Wing was excellent, and cunning in his role. Yuen Biao, Leung Ka Yan and Sammo Hung are all very, very good martial artists. The story was nice for the setting. I wish that I could see more of the old school martial art flix in this period setting. The classic tiger, crane, horse, mantis, panther, eagle, snake, dragon, monkey and of course the drunken style. Brought up to date with the best masters for each style. It could work if you had the best.
Legend Of A Fighter (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure "Legend Of A Fighter" was a very well done film. I would like to see an up to date version. There are a lot of old movies that could be done over today. I even wrote
one of my own. but it was just something I did for fun.
