Geochilmaru (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I liked the idea behind this film. It was something different, but it falls short on delivery of excellent fight sequences. Some were okay, but I felt if the fight choreography was done by Donnie Yen this movie would have been a classic instead of being just okay.
Dirty Tiger, Crazy Frog (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy If you are a fan of the slapstick martial arts classics, then you need this in your collection. If you have never been a fan, then this won't change your mind. Sammo Hung and Lau Ka Wing are awesome in this. Just like "Odd Couple", this movie just confirms why they called it the golden age--90% of my all-time favourites come from this era.
Gojoe: Spirit War Chronicle (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts This movie started out promising. The basic breakdown of the movie is one tribe has driven out another to seize control; but when their warriors start being killed by an enemy they cannot see, they believe a curse has been put on their tribe and that a demon with two faces lurks around gojoe bridge--a bridge that no mortal can pass. Benkei, a buddhist priest, has a vision and believes he is the one who must stop the demon.
This movie in my opinion should have been shorter. It goes off the track to explain things that happened in the past and takes too long to recover. Other than that its alright.
Dragon Tiger Gate (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I'm one for everyone having their own opinion. I read a lot of reviews rubbishing this movie, so I held off watching it for awhile; but curiosity got the better of me and Donnie Yen is the man; so I sit down to watch it, not knowing what to expect, and to my complete horror I see a CGI wire-filled action movie--and, you know what, it was awesome. The story may not be the strongest, but who cares. It delivers well-choreographed fight scenes and oozes cool. Those of you that rubbished this film, shame on you. Don't hate on Donnie, embrace a true master at work.
The Legend Of Zu (product link) Martial Arts / Fantasy Someone said this equals the caliber of "Lord Of The Rings"...interesting comment. I think this needed a third movie. All of your reviews have their points. If they had a third movie, they could have developed the characters and story a whole lot more. This could have been big, but it felt like a 4 hour movie broken down into an hour and a half, which is a shame. It is visually stunning but in overload, had so much potential, that's the sad thing.
Black Mask (product link) Action/Adventure / Science Fiction This movie's all right. It's not my favorite Jet Li film but worth a watch, it has its moments. The girl who thinks he's a nerd is so annoying.
Fearless [2006] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Great movie. Jet Li gives a great performance. The story, the action, the movie is a gem. Guaranteed classic.
Tom Yum Goong (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I've been waiting a long time to see this movie. It started slow, meaning no fights; but once they get started, Tony Jaa is brutal. I have to watch "Ong-Bak" again to see which is better 'cause this movie rocks. The Thai cop is good humor too.
Killer Army [Ground Zero] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure If you have never watched a Venoms movie, then you don't know what you're missing. I would recommend you watch this, then get your hands on anything these guys were in. I didn't know anything about these guys, then I got my hands on a copy of the movie "The 5 Venoms". Since then I have been collecting as many movies that they appeared in as possible, they are that good.
The One Armed Boxer (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This movie is a classic. I prefer the sequel though, "One Armed Boxer Vs. The Flying Guillotine". Jimmy Wang Yu has a lot of charisma and has a good presence about him. I think he is great in this. I hated the yoga expert, that's my only problem with the film. Overall it's a pretty solid film.
Deadful Melody (product link) Martial Arts / Fantasy I really like Yuen Biao. I hope one day he gets the recognition he deserves. I can't believe he wasn't utilized more in the industry, because when he was the lead in a film he really shined. This movie was good, but Brigitte Lin steals the show. What an incredible woman she is. A very enjoyable film.
Grand Master Of Death (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I'm not the biggest Fu Sheng fan. Some of his movies are terrible, some good. This has to be one of my favorites from him. The story is pretty straightforward, which is perfect for this movie. Fu Sheng is in top form. I really enjoyed it and will watch more of his films as he is slowly winning me over.
Azumi 2 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure When I first watched Azumi, I was blown away and was left excited and eager to see the second film. Now that I have seen it, the first movie is better; but this movie had its good points. I think my expectations were set too high. Still I enjoyed it. The bad guys are cool.
Along Comes The Tiger (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I was really worried purchasing a movie that's picture is not of today's standards, but the movie is so good you don't mind. This was the first time I've seen a Wang Tao flick, but if this is anything to go by I will be buying more of his movies. Also the fact that the guy dosen't say a word through the whole movie speaks volumes of how entertaining it must be. CHECK IT OUT!!!
Choi Lee Fat Kung Fu (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This was my 2nd Rarescope picture. I was really worried the picture was pretty bad in places, but it more than makes up for it with it training sequences. And the fight at the end between Cliff Lok and Phillip Ko was so entertaining and well worth parting with my money. I will be checking more titles from Rarescope in the near future.
Drunken Master 2 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure The world of movies would be a sad place without the master, Jackie Chan. Yes he was in some rubbish movies, but he made some real classics too. The one thing no one can deny is the energy and enthusiasm he has brought to all his work, the lengths that he has gone to to satisfy his fans, his phenomenal risking of life and limb performing amazing stunts...he is a true entertainer and an undoubted superstar legend. "Drunken Master 2" is a classic. If you don't own it already, buy it, love it, cherish a master on top of his game with a great support cast of HK legends!!!

i think you hit the nail on the head there.if you you like jackie chan films they dont come much better than this.excellent film.
Butterfly And Sword (product link) Martial Arts / Romance This movie is pretty good. I thought sometimes some of the fight sequences were in fast-forward mode but were still entertaining. I was told this movie was rubbish, but I enjoyed it, especially Donnie Yen's character. I read a few reviews stating they didn't understand what was going on. I think I got what was going on, I only wished the movie was 20 minutes longer.
Masked Avengers (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I wasn't a fan of the trident, but it was something different and I appreciated the skill involved in using it skillfully. I was happy with the dark story and the performance of Phillip Kwok and Chin Siu Ho. It was an enjoyable film and, even though two of the Venoms are missing, a must-have for any Venoms fan's collection.
Legend Of The Fox (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure It was good to see Lu Feng swap roles with Chiang Sheng for this movie, as he would normally play the bad guy. Phillip Kwok is consistant as ever. Whoever the girl was that played the so-called king of poisons gave a good performance in this movie. As usual the weaponary skills are top-notch. A good movie and worthy of any collection.
The Savage 5 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This movie was not what I expected. The martial arts didn't blow me away, but they are not meant to. This movie is so true to its storyline that no one is an invincible fighter--just desperate people trying to save their families from bad people. The fights suit the movie--people doing what it takes to win, even if that means dying yourself. I liked the fact that the guy with the gun was pathetic without it. This is not a martial arts epic, so if you want flashy fights then this ain't for you; but if you want an all around movie with good acting and honesty, then this may surprise you. I don't know how loved Ti Lung was in China, but everything I have watched him in has been excellent. He's such a well balanced actor.
New Tales Of The Flying Fox (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure If you have seen "Legend Of The Fox" this is pretty much the same movie with a few changes and new characters. I really enjoyed this movie. I dont believe it was slow at all. I thought it flowed very well compared to "Legend Of The Fox" where good acting saved the movie. There's plenty of action, my only letdown is the ending, which starts out promising then fizzles out badly and left me with a sour taste in my mouth. But 88 minutes of this movie are excellent. The last minute is a bit of a shocker, but there is enough in this movie to warrant watching it, and if the last fight was better I would have given 4 and a half stars.

Righting Wrongs (product link) Girls With Guns / Martial Arts I was looking forward to seeing this movie. Unfortunately, I feel it was over-hyped. Yuen Biao shines as usual when he is the leading role, and Melvin Wong did an excellent job as the bad guy. The action and fight scenes were pretty good, but the movie is really boring at times and Cynthia Rothrock was really annoying in my opinion. Overall this movie has its high points but is let down by its really low points. If you're a fan of Yuen Biao, then watch it. He is the man.
