The Banquet (product link) Drama / Action/Adventure This movie was aesthetically beautiful--the sets, the costumes, the movement was like watching an opera. The storyline was quite dramatic, and yet, the writer could have given a bit more detail in the storyline for an audience who might not have been able to follow the storyline involved in the dance and the action sequences. But overall was quite beautiful. Also reminded me a bit of "Curse of the Golden Flower". Also, I couldn't ignore its similarities to Shakespeare's "Hamlet" and "Romeo and Juliet".
The Myth (product link) Action/Adventure / Fantasy I've seen some rather unfavorable reviews regarding this movie and I don't know why. I think this is perhaps one of Jackie Chan's best. The storyline flowed, it was not choppy, even though we often time-warped between modern and historic times it did not disrupt the tale, but rather propelled it instead. Good movie.

I can't agree. It felt disjointed, the cg was not professional in it's look. Just not good in any category .
Karate Bullfighter (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts The person I bought it for said it was an excellent movie. He'd seen it many years ago and has been searching for a copy for as long.
Explosive City (product link) Crime / Action/Adventure This movie was off the chain! Action was nonstop! I was not expecting the Simon Yam's character to actually be the villain. Good movie.
Farewell My Dearest (product link) Drama The storyline was straight forward and endearing. This was a touching movie, a real tear-jerker! I liked it a lot.
Seven Swords (product link) Martial Arts / Swordplay/Sword(s) This movie was good. The swordplay, the action was so totally cool! When it ended, I wanted to see more.
Shaolin Temple [1982] (product link) Martial Arts / Drama One name: Jet Li! How young was he? He was awesome even in youth! Good storyline, action was off the hook, I loved it almost as much as "Fearless".
Invisible Target (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts I am an action fanatic, and this was another action-packed flick. I truly enjoyed this film.
Leave Me Alone [DTS] (product link) Thriller / Drama This was a nice blend of action and humor, if that is what was intended. The funniest part was when Man was at the bank pretending to be Kit and he could not understand a word the bank official was saying. Nice work from Ekin Cheng in a double role.
Looking For Mister Perfect (product link) Romance / Action/Adventure Simon Yam can truly make the character his own. I think that anytime he appeared on screen, he sort of overshadowed the other characters. He is one of my favorite actors.
Young And Dangerous 5 (product link) Triad / Drama Again, seeing the way that Ekin Cheng has matured in the role of Chan Ho Nam. In this movie we see a man who is confident, mature, suave, and yet he is caring-he makes you forget that he is a "rascal."
We also see that he is a little too trusting with Chan Ka Nam who is obviously a swindler--but we understand the naïveté with Ho Nam who is not sophisticated when it comes to business ventures such as the one that is presented to him, so to cover his ignorance, he unwittingly misplaces his trust. But we know, Ho Nam has "bounce-back-ability." My man!
The Blade (product link) Swordplay/Sword(s) / Action/Adventure Loved the action. It was a bit choppy...so it was a little difficult to follow. But the action alone rates 4 stars.
Divergence (product link) Crime / Action/Adventure This movie had so many twists and turns, and it was a surprise to find out who the actual killer was. It was nice to see Ekin Cheng in what I would consider a more sophisticated role, and it would be good to see him in more diverse roles.
Infernal Affairs 3: The Ultimate Showdown (product link) Drama / Crime Andy Lau and Tony Leung are two of my favorite actors (note, I did not say two of my favorite Asian actors). Their work is, by far, better than any that has come out of Hollywood. This film was filled with suspense, action, twists that were unexpected, and just plain cool! I loved it!
Exiled [2006] (product link) Bullet Ballet / Crime The storyline was a bit fuzzy and hard to follow. I did get the impression that Boss Fay wanted Wo dead. Why? I must have missed the reason. Therefore, the plot was a bit difficult to follow and the film was a little slow to start, but the actors, almost the same cast from "The Mission", were quite good. My favorite scene is where the four hired guns arrive at Wo's home, two to protect and two to kill, and they end up helping him set up house. Then sit down to eat dinner together. That was funny.
Roy Cheung was my favorite. I love to see him in whatever roles he inhabits. He's an excellent actor.
Young And Dangerous 2 (product link) Triad / Drama This was the first film in this series that I purchased and I truly enjoyed the movie. The script could have been a little stronger but it was enjoyable.
Young And Dangerous 4 (product link) Triad / Drama After I saw Y&D-3, I had to see part 4 and I was not disappointed. I have watched Ekin Cheng develop the character of Chan Ho Nam and I think that he has done an excellent job showing him go from youth to mature man, considering the life that he is leading. Good fight scene at the end between Ho Nam and Crow.
Young And Dangerous: The Prequel (product link) Triad / Drama This film was a good retrospect because we are able to get a glimpse of life for Chan Ho Nam, Chicken and the others as kids and how hard life was for them; and what pushed them to take the direction in life that they did. Nicholas Tse and Sam Lee stepped in and made us believe that they had, in fact, developed the characters of Chan Ho Nam Chicken as played by Ekin Cheng and Jordan Chan. The character portrayals just seemed to fit and flow, to fall in step with what had already been committed to film by the latter two actors. This was an enjoyable prequel.
