The Killer Snakes (product link) Horror / Thriller "The Killer Snakes" was a very disturbing yet interesting thriller. It's about a sympathetic, unbalanced young man who lives in a condemned shed by a snake shop. He is constantly picked on and has only one friend--a girl with whom he's in love. He works as a delivery boy, but not for long. On one of his deliveries, he is robbed of his money and taunted by a prostitute. To make matters worse, the baddies break his delivery tray and he is fired from his job. To take his mind off things, he asks a friend out for a movie; she stands him up (circumstances beyond her control), so he trashes her toy stand out of anger and heartache. Then he meets some snakes and begins to take his revenge on those he felt did wrong to him. Very interesting movie, definite must-see!
Very entertaining. The Shadow Boxer is one of Shaw bros' rares and also stars real life tai chi champion Chen Wo-Fu, who committed suicide soon after the production of this movie. Chen Wo Fu play ku ding, a construction worker who struggles to obey the philosophy of tai chi and his master's teaching to hold back from his skills and tolerate the cruelty from the bad guys. But in a split second Ku ding finds his world falling apart, his master is murdered, his girlfriend gets raped, and his best friend is killed. So enough is enough and ku ding finally gives in and takes revenge. The most interesting this about this movie is that the lead actor was not the usually hot head and quick to use his fist like in most of the Shaw bros films. Which that is what I like the most about this character. Also Shih szu appears in the movie as ku ding's master daughter. She's not the best martial artist but she held her own. But to be honest I would have rather seen Lily Li in that role. Overall, a very good movie, definitely worth checking out. Not your typical Shaw bros movie, you'll have to see it to see what I mean. Once again very good.
