Audition (product link) Horror / Art This is a great movie. I love how it starts like a romance so it could get build up to the last 15 minutes of mayhem that goes on at the end. Miike is a freaking genius, thank you for your movies Miike.

I like the pace of this movie from the innocent beginning to the horrible climax. Eihi Shina seems so sweet and innocent, but we gradually see beneath her pose. I am glad she is Japanese not Chinese.
Shaolin Monk [PanMedia] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This movie was okay--not one of my favorites. It's slow and the fighting scenes where not all there, but I still watch it because I'm an 80's baby and I grew up watching all this old school kung fu flix.
Ichi The Killer (product link) Crime / Action/Adventure This is an awesome movie. After watching this movie, I'm going to start my Takashi Miike film collection. Awesome movie

miike is not the best director, but yes he has done good films and this one bllows away that insipid Godfather. THAKE THAT PEOPLE!!
I'll offer a qualified agreement. This film, "Visitor Q," "Izo" and a few others share a delight in transgression and excess, but many of Miike's other films work entirely differently. Quite a few are worthwhile.
