Bio: I am a kung fu movie nut. I don't know how to explain the way it feels to watch stars like Donnie Yen, Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Gordon Lui, Ti Lung, David Chiang, Moon Lee, Cynthia Khan, just kicking butt.
Fantasy Mission Force (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Jimmy Wang Yu called in a few favors to get this all-star cast together for this mental/crazy film about war, pirates, ghosts, and greed. Watch for those who enjoy insanity.
Bolo (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I don't know what it is but this movie puts me to sleep everytime I try to watch it. Loading up on Red Bull doesn't help either. But finally watched it in full, and wished I was asleep again. It just wasn't interesting, funny, or enough action. The half star is for having a try with Bolo in the lead.
First Option (product link) Bullet Ballet / Action/Adventure It just sit right with me, this film, a mix of chinese and english spoken, the use of gender and cultural clashes, and as for the ex-usa soldiers, in the film, they are pretty uselesses as villians.
Mantis Under Falcon Claws (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Old school kung fu at its weakest. A silk dealer finds a master and learns martial arts and teams up with a top fighter to take on the bandits and save the silk dealer's sister and a daughter of a government offical. The plot is confusing, the action is slack, and the comedy is poor.
Shaolin Kung Fu [1974] (product link) Martial Arts / Historical The title is nothing to do with the action. I found the story line so disjointed, the fight scenes laughable and I probably should give the movie no stars. But I did watch all of it in one go, so it does have some entertainment value.
Don't expect anything to do with Shaolin in any shape or form, the title of the movie is a fake.
The Dragon Master [DOUBLE FEATURE] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Poor outing for Dragon Lee. Lee is an orphan, out for revenge as the "Silver Ninja", being the thorn to the bandits.
Firefist Of Incredible Dragon (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure A mix of kung fu/horror/comedy in this crazy confusing movie. An evil master is kidnapping, raping, and murdering girls. A sister of one of the mudered girls turns up and tries to take revenge.
Blind Fist Of Bruce (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Bruce Li stars in this average kung fu flick. Bruce is a good rich kid, looks after a bank. His two "fake" kung fu masters have shown him how to fight, like styles of elephant, cat, duck and dog. Once an evil gang moves into town, he is unable to stop the gang and loses everything. He turns to a blind old man, who helps him turn and defeat the thugs, in a number of battles with kicks and fists flying.
The Bastard (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Fighting a guy like yourself must be hard in this, 'The Bastard'. A young man is used by an evil gang to replace the evil boss' son in jail, because they looked the same as each other. It has a very average story and action scenes.
Ninjas And Dragons (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I found it very hard to watch. Not too sure if it was because the picture was dark and hard to see some scenes, or because I was expecting more from the student of Sonny Chiba. The movie was like kung fu mixed in with people from a 'freak' show. I was disappointed, expecting better.
The Eunuch (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I thought it was an all right swordplay flick, a good story to go with it. Could have gotten a higher rating if there was less use of magic and wires. I thought it was just a period piece.
The Avenging Fist (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure With the number of stars they put in this story, you would expect a better picture. The plot that doesn't really go anywhere, fight scenes that were average at best, and too much focus on the special effects let this movie down.
Fists Of Fury 3 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Bruce Li returns as Bruce Lee's brother again. After taking revenge on the Far East Orgainzation for his brother's death, he returns home to help his mother and another brother run their shop, and promises to never fight again. But the Far East Organiztion tracks him down, and while everyone around dies, Bruce Li keeps his promise to his mother. But Bruce lets loose a fist of fury once his remaining family members die.
Fist Fighter (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Set in WW2, Chinese fighters try to keep an American pilot from the Japanese. Robert Baker (from Bruce Lee's "Fist of Fury") plays a Nazi officer helping the Japanese.
Bruce Li: The Invincible (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure When men dressed up in gorilla suits using kung fu to fight the heroes, it is very strange.
The Winged Tiger (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This guy has it all: two women want him, he gets to kill David Chiang, and he flies around the screen with daggers in hand and hidden ones in his boots.
Five Kung Fu Daredevil Heroes (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure A mix of well known stars of the kung fu era fight their way through this film. The film shows how all parts of Chinese society should work together for the Chinese nation, even if it is against the enemy within or the foreigners.
A Deadly Secret (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure A man in prison holds onto a secret. How does one open this man's mind to find out what the secret is?
Naked Weapon (product link) Crime / Thriller I don't why people rave about this movie; it is nothing special. I grew up with "Naked Killer", starring Chingmy Yau as the master of all sexy/action movies, and it is still the best.
The Anonymous Heroes (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure In this modern day action piece (well, modern for 1970's when it was made), David Chang and Ti Lung are out to help the rebels with a gun run.
I have watched a few Shaw Bros. gunplay movies from this era; maybe I have watched too many European/American movies, but the scenes with the game-play do seem too silly.
Challenge Of The Masters (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I was a bit disappointed with this movie, considering the people involved. It just feels like the movie runs at a steady pace and doesn't get to the climax I expected.

Yes, everyone must love one another. I hate these films! But some fights were good.
The Bloody Escape (product link) Action/Adventure / Thriller Chen Kuan Tai stars as a bandit with a good streak. After helping a woman to escape from his group of bandits, he himself must escape and try to live life right.
The Elimination Pursuit (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure The Devil Clan are out to be unstoppable, killing anyone that gets in their way. The top palace constables are sent in to stop the carnage. An average wuxia movie.
One of the "that is so stupid" scenes, is when a rocket grenade is fired at a van, but if you have no windscreen and open the back doors of the van just as the rocket enters the van, you can save yourself.
Coffy (product link) Crime / Action/Adventure Coffy is out for revenge, and no one is going to stop her from finding everyone involved in her sister's death.
2000 AD (product link) Action/Adventure In this modern action flick, a computer geek becomes a master spy, and able defeat the terrorists from hours of playing computer games. Not enough action, average story.
The Skyhawk (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Old Sammo and Carter Wong are students to The Skyhawk. After a numerous encounters with the local thugs, who are blackmailing Sammo's sister's gambler husband and trying to take over the warehouse trade for their evil purposes, The Skyhawk and Carter Wong bring justice to a small town in Thailand.
The movie moves at a slow rate, and there are number of little plots in the story which never get resolved.
Duel At The Supreme Gate (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I thought I would get to see more of Shek Kin in this outing of loyalty and betrayal. But his character disappears from the screen halfway through.
I agree. Fast moving, and Cheng Pei Pei is cute, but not nearly as good as the trailer makes it out to be, and nothing at all original that I could see.
