Loft (product link) Horror / Thriller "The Loft" is one of those movies that is hard to figure out. With a mummy, a murder--or was there a murder?--a convincing female lead who ends up in the middle of everything... A few twists made this flick a little better than average. Stay with it.
Don't Open Your Eyes (product link) Ghost / Action/Adventure I can't tell if this movie was supposed to be part comedy or all horror. It was easy to see where the story was going and how it was going to get there. I've seen most of the cast in better films, so I can't really blame this on them. A detective gets the ghost eye ability to see ghosts, which is helpful since one is coming after him for revenge. The movie just seemed like it could have been better with such an unusual plot. Disappointing.
Occult Detective Club: The Doll Cemetery (product link) Horror / Thriller Not one of the worst movies I've ever seen, but in there trying all the way. Special effects were not special or effective. Corny story, corny acting. Listen carefully: keep away from this movie, keep very far away
Love And Honor (product link) Drama / Romance A really great movie. Great characters, a study in human emotion. A movie that will surprise you with its simple story about the title Love and Honor.
Hula Girl (product link) Comedy / Drama I just watched this movie and I think I'll watch it again. Was kind of skeptical about the story but instantly became a believer. A genuine feel-good movie. You'll laugh, cry and enjoy yourself
He Was Cool (product link) Comedy / Romance This is the kind of movie that Korean filmmakers excel at: romantic, dramatic, and a little comedy thrown in for good measure. Two completely different people finding their way into each other's heart. Very likeable cast and storyline.
Asako In Ruby Shoes (product link) Drama / Romance Strange kind of story but you will be rewarded if you stay with it. Two lonely people in different countries somehow eventually making a connection. I guess there really is someone for everyone if you look around.
First Kiss [1998] (product link) Romance / Comedy Just watched this movie for probably the 3rd or 4th time and like it a little better each time. The lead actress is so good playing a kinda nerdy girl that she doesn't seem to be acting. Not much comedy, but enjoyable just the same.
Futago (product link) Thriller / Action/Adventure Strange movie. Took about a half hour to see where it was going. Some creepy moments. The ending was not what I expected, which was a good thing. She really had unnerving eyes. Not bad though.
Nightmare Detective (product link) Horror / Thriller Slow in spots but has some very creepy moments. A sexy and beautiful detective also helps in those slow spots. This will be the next foreign horror movie that us Americans will ruin (see "The Grudge", "The Eye", and "Pulse" to name a few). But, all in all, a cut above the norm.
The Circle (product link) Horror / Romance Took 2 days to watch this film. Sometimes it got a little confusing like watching an episode of Lost. It is more of a thinking movie . Not big on gore or violence. But in the end it wasn't bad. I've definitely seen a lot worse
2000 AD (product link) Action/Adventure A great action film. It seems like the action is one of those roller coaster rides. It keeps a minimal plot going like the energizer bunny. You won't fall asleep on this one
To Seduce An Enemy (product link) Erotica / Crime One of the strangest cat3 movies I've seen. A lot of skin is shown except for those parts that get the male ego? going. A little twist at the end made this movie a little better. All in all it wasn't a real waste of time. I just expected more.
Devil Of Rape (product link) Horror / Erotica I didn't notice while watching that there were no subtitles; but it's not like you need them... Lots of nice looking women. But when isn't a cat3 film filled with nice looking Asian females? How does one come up with ideas like this?
Mr. Wacky (product link) Drama I was extremely disappointed in this movie. Usually Korean movies are entertaining, especially the comedies, but this was an exception.
Black Cat 2 (product link) Action/Adventure / Girls With Guns Corny dialogue, one of the longest short movies I've ever seen, but Jade Leung is worth the price of admission. I just wish her part could have been more substantial as far as development. But it really wasn't too bad.
Baby Alone (product link) Comedy / Crime The kid is cute, but there were some annoying characters. Had some funny moments. Watchable but not memorable.
Mad Detective (product link) Drama / Crime Definitely keeps your attention .The mad detective himself was the movie, but I wish the ending was better. Still, a must-see.
The Return Of Swamp Thing (product link) Horror / Science Fiction Campy movie but enjoyable. How can you resist a movie with dialogue like, "This will never work because I'm a plant." "That's alright, I'm a vegetarian." Full of quirky conversation and not so special effects, it still is enjoyable
Bullet And Brain (product link) Crime / Action/Adventure Didn't expect to, but I loved this movie. Action, humor, even a hint of romance; and when you think you have it figured out, gotcha'.
Party 7 (product link) Crime / Action/Adventure A very strange movie, but I found it funny with all the crazy things that occur pretty rapidly. Hooray for Captain Banana.
Karaoke Terror (product link) Dark Comedy / Drama I've always wanted to see this movie when I missed it at the Asian film festival a few years ago. It's unlike any revenge film you'll ever see as the violence escalates along with the weapons. I'm glad I missed it at the festival so I could own it.
Killing Car (product link) Thriller / Erotica A kind of "Plan 9 From Outer Space" in the beginning, the way it starts in the morning then seems to be heading to darkness pretty quickly. I never heard gun shots like the ones in this movie. I guess that's the way they sounded in 1989. It really wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either.

The Machine Girl (product link) Action/Adventure / Girls With Guns Entertaining movie. Perfect for a night when you don't know what to watch but want to occupy yourself without too much thinking or analyzing a flick.
Red Room 2 (product link) Horror / Thriller Definitely not as good as the first, if you liked the first. A lot gorier than the first. The characters were more real in the first. Just didn't care for it all that much.
Summer Breeze Of Love (product link) Comedy / Romance I can't help it. I like the TWINS. They are so cute and innocent--well at least one of them didn't do their own sex video. But even though you know how it's going to end up, if you like the twins it won't matter
Gonin 2 [DOUBLE FEATURE] (product link) Action/Adventure / Crime Not only action but a story to boot. Loved the RUN character. All the female leads were good. I guess I'll have to watch "Gonin 1" now.
Cop Shop Babes (product link) Comedy / Crime A comedy that has its moments--and also Carina Lau, which is saying a lot. Pays homage to movies like "Silence Of The Lambs". Also has some funny dialogue--and Carina Lau.The cast is very good looking, especially Carina Lau. A pleasant surprise.
Birdcage Inn (product link) Drama / Romance This movie grows on you. At first I was wondering why I was even watching it, but my patience was rewarded. One of those studies of the human spirit that we all need to offset all the over-the-top action movies. If you watch it, stay with it.
L: Change The World (product link) Thriller / Science Fiction Not at all like the first two, which were real good, but this one has its own charm.
But now an editorial: I hope this review lives up to the 4-page reviews that some of you send in. 5 sentences about the movie and the rest to use that dictionary you have. When I look at the list of movies to buy, I read what it's about then see if there are any customer reviews. I read to see if they liked it and other movies they've seen and liked. I have nothing against the review of the month club and its members should accept us three-sentence reviewers too.
Das Komabrutale Duell (product link) Horror / Thriller Gory, gory, but no story. A helpful household hint about using a hot glue gun for reinstalling body parts--and that's one of the good things. Just plain sucked.
The Last Eve (product link) Martial Arts / Science Fiction Symbols were the underlying theme of this movie? A giant turd would have been the best symbol for it. I thought "Beverly Hills Ninja" had better martial arts in it. I'm sorry but I didn't like it one bit.

Dark Forest (product link) Horror / Thriller Started off pretty good. Kinda slowed a little in the middle. But the ending was pretty good. A sort of "Evil Dead" type film without Bruce Campbell for comic relief.
The Suicide Song (product link) Horror / Thriller A lot better than I thought it was going to be. Not a typical teen gore fest. Actually had a story to it. My favorite character was Aunt Enma, who had only a minute or two. Cute girls, good story.
In The Lap Of God (product link) Comedy A passable romantic comedy. Irene Wan is adorable, but in her later films she's a very sexy woman. Two people who seem to hate each other are always arguing but predicatably end up together. But it's nice to watch Irene Wan.
Cyborg Girl (product link) Romance / Science Fiction I didn't know what to expect with this movie. The synopsis didn't seem like much, but I still bought it. A really fast-moving movie. The action scenes were a plus. The two leads were very believable. I just really enjoyed it and look foward to watching it again.
