Deadgirl (product link) Horror / Thriller A real different kind of movie. There's no explanation of where the story came from or where it is going, but it held my interest all the way through. It's not for people who get nauseated by this sort of thing--and you will get sick over it--but it's entertaining all the same.
The Vanished (product link) Horror / Thriller Pretty good after the first half. I guess you have to set the tone, but these are the kids from I don't know where. Not heavy on the gore side, but more on the setting a mood side. But all in all a good time was had by all.
Connected (product link) Thriller / Crime Even though this was a remake of "Cellular", which is the opposite of what it usually is, it still was entertaining. The car chases were really good. The two main characters were good, but some of the other players seemed out of sync with their roles. But when it gets rolling it's non-stop and maybe you won't notice
Coming Soon (product link) Horror / Thriller New horror ideas are always refreshing. This is definitely not a typical scarefest, but the movie flew by without much of a lull in it. Even the ending was okay. There's not much on the slicing and dicing end if that's your thing.
The Masked Girl (product link) Action/Adventure / Science Fiction Beware of this movie. Sleepless nights are certain. Why did I watch this, WHY, when I could have watched "Hannah Montana" instead?
Hotaru No Hikari (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Romance Attention all you Haruka Ayase fans. This is a must-see. Even though this is a comedy, you can see her potential as an actress come through in her performance. She is definitely one of the best looking females in the world. Actually the whole cast deserves kudos as it was an entertaining story. See for yourself.
My Sassy Mum (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Comedy Typical fare, but what makes it a little better is Aya Ueto, who always seems to be the driving force in whatever she stars in. A kind of shoot-from-the-lip girl who goes up against the Moms, who have their own problems but live their life through the kids. Sound familiar?
Wishing Stairs (product link) Horror / Thriller A great little cast helps to pull off a film about being careful what you wish for. The wish will come true, just not in the way you expected it to.
Plague Town (product link) Horror / Thriller Didn't know what to expect with this one, as I had never heard of it, but it was pretty good. The cast were good and the gore was up there. Some intense moments made for a good movie.
Saving My Hubby (product link) Comedy / Action/Adventure Bae Doo-Na is one of the best actresses period. In any country. She is so natural in every role she plays--drama, romance, comedy. Oh yeah, the movie is really good too. It gets to a hectic pace after awhile, never losing its momentum. Usually the baby would be the scene stealer, but not with Bae Doo-Na around.
Aihyoka: Chi-Manako (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Drama Not a terrible movie, but it was hard to feel anything for the main character. It has a few moments, but I guess the moral is that you're nobunny 'til somebunny wants you.
Blood: The Last Vampire [2009] (product link) Horror / Action/Adventure I loved this movie because of Gianna, as she is known now. Very good action sequences, but the vampire monster is kind of hokey. Gianna's English is actually pretty good, and who thought there was an action hero in that body? I would hope there's a possibility of a second one to see if they can do better.
Bangkok Dangerous [2000] (product link) Action/Adventure / Crime Quite different to me from the Nicolas Cage one, as the roles are reversed for some of the characters. I just wonder why they would remake this when they had it right this first time.
Tenshi (product link) Romance / Fantasy I bought this off of someone's recommendation, now I'm giving one of my own. A different kind of movie where the lead actress doesn't have much to say, but all I can say is you won't go wrong with this one.
Beast Stalker (product link) Crime / Action/Adventure A pretty intense movie. Nick Cheung plays a really good bad guy (huh) that's also spooky looking. He's pretty brutal but in an entertaining way. Sustains the tempo through most of the movie. One of the better ones I've seen recently.
Ba:Bo (product link) Drama / Romance A pretty good movie. On the sentimental side, but what's wrong with that once in a while? The lead actor is really good and Ha Ji-Won is wonderful as always. Almost a Hollywood ending but not quite. Sometimes the good ones have the strangest names.
Unfair The Special Code Breaking (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Drama This was a lot better than I expected it to be. The lead star is very believable as a tortured soul. The plot was okay, as was the rest of the cast. I guess I'll have to try the TV series next.
Zee Oui (product link) Drama / Thriller A pretty disturbing movie. A little more intense than I expected. Great performances all around, especially by the lead nut job and the very incredible beauty who plays Dara.
Devil's Backbone (product link) Drama / Horror Del Toro seems to be one of the magical directors. Kinda' like Tim Burton was. I thought this was one of his best. Creepy, eerie, and a lot of fun.
The Wife In Romance (product link) Comedy I don't know why, but I liked this movie. I don't know if it was the ending or the way the characters changed throughout, but I liked it. Hard to say if it's a comedy or a romance, but I liked it. Did I say that again? Sorry.
4bia (product link) Horror / Thriller Wow this was pretty good. The first story was really good. Then the second one matched it. The third was actually better when it came to the end, which had a twist. The fourth was probably the weakest, but the girl was stunning. I enjoyed them all.
X-Cross (product link) Horror / Thriller I thought this movie had some good tense moments, some humor. Once you got used to the flashbacks and flashfowards to the different characters it kinda' fell into place. I just thought it was a lot better than I had expected.
Ichi (product link) Martial Arts / Drama I had to give this four stars. I can't help it. I'm in love with Haruka Ayase. But she really is a great actress. From playing a cyborg to a very believable blind swordswoman, she has it all going on. The action is pretty good, the story is pretty good with some humor and romance thrown in, and one can only hope there is a another in the works. We don't need more cowbell, we need more Haruka Ayase.

Geisha Assassin (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I didn't know anything about this movie. The action was pretty good. The swordplay was okay, and the lead is a real beauty. I was pleasantly surprised.
The Host (product link) Horror / Thriller I just watched this movie for the second time, and you know what, it was pretty good. Some movies are just better the second time around.
My Wife Is A Gangster (product link) Action/Adventure / Girls With Guns All of the series are unique in their own way, with the first two starring Shin Eun-Gyeong and the third with Shu Qi. I still like the first one the best, with its mix of comedy and action. Never a dull moment. Never a dull movie.
Spiral (product link) Horror / Thriller Don't let this one get away. Sets a mood throughout, and just when you think you have it figured out... Great acting all around, great movie all around.
Martyrs (product link) Horror / Thriller Real different kind of movie. Not really a horror movie, but the closest way to describe it is a horror movie. Great acting and a great ending, which didn't seem like they were heading to it, but they did. Try it.
Beyond All Magic (product link) Romance / Comedy A sweet little movie with a likeable cast. Just goes to show you that one person can make a difference in people's lives.
Magnificent Warriors (product link) Action/Adventure / War A very young Michelle Yeoh leads the cast in a non-stop action movie. You can see why she won the beauty contest and why she's the female Jackie Chan. This entertaining movie doesn't have a lull in it and has some funny parts. Definitely not a waste of time.
Bloody Reunion (product link) Horror / Thriller Just when you have it figured out, you don't. It's a little bit different for the genre and has a twist at the end--and a few new ways to get some gore going. I thought it was better than the usual slice and dice flix.
Epitaph (product link) Horror / Thriller Was it me or was this movie hard to follow for awhile? It does have some creepy moments, and the storyline wasn't bad, but they have a way to go to be the Pang Bros.
Clean [2004] (product link) Drama Sorry everyone, but I really liked this movie. Maggie Cheung proved that she can act with the best of them and can rise above the material. Her English surprised me and her French was really something too. She's one of those females that just gets better looking as she gets older. Not to mention her acting too.
Let The Right One In (product link) Horror / Thriller This was one of my favorites at last year's Tribeca Film Festival. Also a big crowd favorite. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this. It's a little slow in the beginning, but definitely stay with it. I enjoyed the second viewing almost as much as the first.
Sodom The Killer (product link) Horror / Thriller One of the funniest movies I've seen in some time. The biggest problem is that it wasn't supposed to be a comedy. With a blind man driving a car and a man wrestling a dummy and a stupid airplane flying, there is enough humor to amuse anyone. Unless you spent money on this.
Butterfly Lovers [Live Action] (product link) Romance / Martial Arts Hard to believe that anyone could think someone as cute as Charlene Choi could possibly be a man. A kind of Romeo and Juliet story, along with the ending. But I always enjoy "the cute one" in any kind of role she plays.
Shiver [2003] (product link) Horror / Thriller Not an original idea, I think, since it reminded me of so many other movies I've seen. It's just that the other movies I've seen were better. The cast was okay, just not a lot to work with.
Sleeping With The Dead (product link) Ghost / Horror Predictable. I wish I could find a shorter word, but I already said it. "Sleeping With The Audience" would have been a better title
