Executioners From Shaolin (product link)
Martial Arts / Action/Adventure

Wanna' pick up and old school kung fu flick but not sure wich one to pick? Don't worry, this flick is slammin'! Definitely some good acting here from Lily Li and others, along with nicely choreographed fight scenes.

NIf you are not sure which one to pick, get Fist of the White Lotus instead of this boring junk.MS10197

Rurouni Kenshin Vol. 2: Battle In The Moonlight (product link)
Animation / Fantasy

"That murderer named Kurogasa...he must be another manslayer left over from the revolution just like myself. Even if it's been ten years into the Meiji era, his mind is still obsessed with the smell and color of blood."

Ah, classic phrase from Kenshin Himura in this must-get DVD. This is CLASSIC Kenshin material right here such as the "Battle In The Moonlight", Kenshin vs. Jinei Udoh. One of Kenshin's greatest challenges throughout the whole RuroKen series.

Basically, if you are a Kenshin addict, or are becoming one, you need this disc in order to understand the rest of the series logically. Without those chapters, much of RuroKen would not make any sense. It has the backstory on Sannosuke Sagara and how Kenshin and him become comrades in Arms, and also the introduction of Megumi Takani, Dr. Gensai's beautiful assistant, as well as Aoshi Shinomori and the Oniwabanshuu Ninja.

But wait, there's more! Interesting dialogue, great fight scenes, and [more].

Cop this today if you like period action anime, satisfaction guaranteed.

The Shadow Boxing (product link)
Martial Arts / Action/Adventure

Director Lau Kar Leung did "Spiritual Boxer" in 1975 and four years later he did the follow-up, "Spiritual Boxer 2: The Shadowboxing". Unfortunately, I have not seen the first spiritual boxer so I cannot compare this movie to its predecessor.

This may not be one of Lau Kar Leung's more well-known films as a director, and not one of Gordon Liu's most famous screen-appearances either. However, "The Shadow Boxing" is a classic in its own respect and it contains a good portion of humor and above average acting from several familiar SB stars.

According to the film, legend has it that if someone passed away far from home and their family badly wanted them to be buried in their home village it was possible for skilled magicians of the time, called "corpse herders" to make the deceased walk up-straight and start their journey home!!

Plot: Two Corpse herders, Fan Xiaoyuan (played by Wang Yu) and Chen Wu (Played by Lau Kar-Wing) accompany a troupe of Zombies in order to get them home to their families so they can be put to rest. They do not know that a framed police officer named Zhang Jie (played by Gordon Liu) just has escaped from prison and that he is walking right with them, just acting as a zombie!

Also, Fan Xiaoyuan's female friend, Fei Fei (Incredibly good looking Cecilia Wong Hang-Sau) wanna join the corpse herders to avoid an arranged marriage for her part.

This is the beginning for many funny events!

Xiaoyuan and Fei Fei is suspicious about Zhang Jie, how come he can Swallow, run fast, turn his head, and STEAL CHICKENFOOD when he is supposed to be dead? Meanwhile, the men who framed Zhang Jie, a corrupt police chief and his partner in crime, played by Lee Hoi Sang (36th chambers of Shaolin) is about the reveal the truth about Zhang Jie's whereabouts!

I won't leave out the rest here but some definitive highlights are Wang Yu's "Vampire Kung Fu" and Gordon Liu's "Eagles claw" performances. And who can forget about Wong hang Sau's first attempt to COACH the army of the walking dead, peep the restaurant scene folks, hahaha!!

The Shadow Boxing" may not please every martial arts aficionado since there are long pauses between the fights but to sum it all up, it is a good film that is worth picking up and add to your collection.
