Bio: I'm an all around movie viewer. Kung Fu/Drama/Horror/Sleazey Exploitation/etc.
Chances are if you've seen one of my reviews it's probably for one of the Korean AVs. I enjoy movies with wild or "out there" content. Bad taste doesn't really mean much to me. That doesn't mean I think it's great, just entertaining.
Once Upon A Time In China 3 (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts This movie is a considerable drop-off from the first two in the series. The plot shifts more toward the love interest between Jet Li and his cousin (which kinda' creeps me out). There are a couple great action sequences, however, just not as many as in the first two movies.

Four stars is fair. If Rosamund Kwan were anything more distant than my second cousin I wouldn't quibble about consanguinity. WF-h should have moved on her sooner!
I agree with the comment above me. The leon dance has a little too much emphasis put on it for my liking. While in both OUTIC and OUTIC 2 we have epic final showdowns this one felt like an anti-climax.
The Secret Rivals (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I feel this movie is a bit over-hyped, and I believe the sequel to be much better then the original (I gave the sequel 5 stars)! It takes quite awhile for the action to really start, and some of the scenes starring John Liu and Wong Tao are really cheesy looking. However, Hwang Jang Lee's performance as Silver Fox is awesome; and the final fight scene with Lee, Liu and Tao should not be missed. If you take the time to watch this one, be sure to check out the sequel which, as I stated earlier, is far better and picks up right where this one leaves off.

This is an excellent showcase for Hwang Jang Lee's abundant abilities. Wong Tao is good, but John Liu's kicks seem to lack the kind of impact Hwang Jang Lee's have galore.
The Bare Footed Kid (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I enjoy being surprised by what I call sleepers. This is exactly what one has in "The Bare Footed Kid". When I purchased this movie I was hoping for more hand - to - hand combat with a lot less wire work. I adore the "Fist of Legend" styled movies a lot more. You will get minor wire work in this movie, but much more respectable martial arts choreography. To add, actors/actresses one may not be familiar with. This is pleasing, for it brings promise to the future of the martial arts movies' genre. I once again, strongly suggest this movie to be added to one's repertoire.

The movie has potential & great actors plus a talented director somehow it was not really all that & certainly not 4 stars.
Martial Arts Showdown Vol. 1 [6-Disc Set] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This set is a great deal for 6 fair-to-good movies. My favorite in it is "The Killer From Above", where Lo Lieh is in top form.

Average set of Tai Seng movies. I happened to like The Leg Fighters best.
I have to open my review by stating that this film is not groundbreaking stuff, but it is a bucket-full of old school Kung Fu action. One of the best Taiwanese kung-fu flicks, and probably the one with the lowest budget. Joseph Kou is the most amazing martial arts director. He incorporates heavy acrobatics with incredible athletic choreography. There are some truly amazing acrobatic stunts. One of the best scenes is when Mark Long battles the monkey stylist. When Li Yi Min joins the group, after countless scenes of getting taunted, he becomes Mark Long's best student. Along with the taunting, there are scenes of Jackie Chan style humor, and the always inevitable "bumbling students becomes Kung Fu master." When Li Yi Min's character hears that Mark Long killed his father, Li Yi Min learns the "3 Superior Strikes of Pai Mek (white-eyebrow)" from a dark clothed character. Mark Long knows the other nine strikes that he has already taught to Li Yi Min. After a fight between master and student, the dark character reveals himself as the man whom really killed Li Yi Min's father. I sure you can take it from here. I highly recommend this awesome Kung Fu Flick. Joseph Kou god bless you for this film.

A nice succinct review. A rating I can agree with. Plus some depth to the over all opinion.
