Bio: I look for fast action martial art movies. A five star movie to me consist of great choreography such as Legendary Weapons of China, The Rebel Intruders, and Long Step Mantis just to name a few. Further more about my movie ratings, I don't really look for story, I just look for the boxing.
I think the (HK Flix) staff is great to give us the delight to share our thoughts and comments about certain movies we select. Now, we are an offical community sharing with each other our love for film.

Long Step Mantis (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Mark Lung is one of my favorite martial artist, he has a style like no other. He adds a lot of passion in he artistry. Nonetheless, this movie is nothing short of five stars. The action is superb, and the story is ok, but trust me this movie needs to be in your collection.
The Challenger (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Since there are [currently] no [other] comments made, I must make one. This film is a good movie to buy. You can't go wrong with Phillip Ko Fei. He [gives] a grand performance in this film, even though he [plays a] bad [guy].
Shaolin And Wu Tang (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This movie was a very good movie to watch. It had element of a Shaw Brothers movie; it contains elements such as "Master Killer" and "Invincible Pole Fighter" but very different settings... I really enjoyed watching this film.
Duel Of The Brave Ones [DOUBLE FEATURE] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure The reason I had wanted to buy this movie is because of Wilson Tong's great performances in movies such as the Shaw Brother's films Treasure Hunters, Dirty Ho, and the Master Killer. Unfortunatly, this movie is no Shaw Brother's movie. The movie Duel Of The Brave Ones wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. This movie was a gangster movie, and people were getting hit saws, chains, and most of all people were killed with screwdrivers, go figure. Conversely, this movie was entertaining in it's own right; very fast choreography, and not bad story line either. Two stars [out of 5] for me.
Shaolin King Boxer (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Hooray Meng Fei, Chen Kuen Tai, you guys have made my life very entertaining. This movie is really a hidden classic. With the great fighting techniques, this movie is sure to please any kung fu fan. I'm very delighted to have this movie in my collection and I do recommend this movie for everyone to enjoy.
Warriors Two (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure First off, I would like to say that HKFlix is a splendid company to retreive some of the best martial arts movie in the world. Not only that, but over the years, HKFlix taught me how to become a better movie rater towards these martial arts flims, and I respect them highly for that.
The movie Warriors Two was a blast to watch. Leung Kar Yan had given a brillant display of the wing chun style; even though a movie like Descendant of Wing Chun was a nice movie, and The Prodical Son was a pleasure to watch, none compared to the eloquence Leung Kar Yan displayed on this flim. Casanova Wong had nice kicks to show on this flim, and Sammo Hung becomes one on my favorite martial director of the 70's, because he tries to steal no light from either of his co- stars in any movie I've seen him direct even though he's done all the hard to make good movies...
Shaolin Deadly Kicks (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure There is no doubt in my mind that Dorian Tan is a thrill to watch in this film, but there is some things wrong with this movie. First, why is the famous kicker a criminal and then all of a sudden becomes a cop? Secondly, why is he killing people in this film for treasure pieces that he didn't get? Lastly, there is no story about where all the kung fu genius kicks are coming from. Overall, this movie has no substance, and he is just kicking butt, literally.
Drunken Master 3 (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Most kung fu watching fans would not enjoy this film. Well, this film didn't have many fight scenes in it; conversely, I totally enjoyed this movie. Why, because it told a beautiful story of (What I assume is) the boxer rebellion, and it started off exactly where Jackie Chan left off. The only thing that was different was the funny mother in part two had died which was Wong Fei- Hung's mom. Another reason why the normal kung fu fanatic wouldn't like this film is because there were unknown actors to the american eye deplaying who Fei-Hung was. There were many things I liked about this film; one was how Liu-Chia Liang interpret how a gay martial artist would fight, also the humorous comedy, and a well written story I must say. All in all, this movie was a good story and not many fight scenes, but the fight scenes were good.
Killer Army [Ground Zero] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This movie is by far one of the best vemon films out there. For one, I've never seen this kind of acrobatic choreography displayed on any films.
The Kung Fu Instructor (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Ti Lung is not my favorite martial artist, but this movie is ok, but it's not worth four and one-half stars. The fight scenes were slow, it seems as if Ti Lung deliberately tried to make an okay film. The story is great, though, you can get three stars from me.

Legend Of The Fox (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I adored this film because of the convoluted story line that made plenty of sense. I'm a martial arts fanatic, and the story made this movie more of a pleasure to watch. Now, the martial arts in this film proved a spectacular oracle of what kung fu movies are supposed to have. Also, this movie is treat for the simple fact that the story line was enough; and they added martial arts! I do recommend this movie to all kung fu fanatics. But I must warn you; this is more swords play with little hand to hand combat. But it's a fast action flick. The Venoms rule!
Fighting Ace (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Wow! This is a hidden classic, I was not expecting this movie to be like this. Man... Kung fu at its best, this is a must buy.

No, ok, I know why, it had all our favorite stars, but the script was bad, the fighting scene were bad, it was slow... I have brought the movie and I'll plan on never watching it again. Video Asia should of known better then to release something like this. This is the worst movie I've ever seen in my life, honestly.
Shaolin Temple Against Lama [5-Disc Set] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure When I've seen this movie I could not believe that I could be amazed more at Alexander for executing these moves. I am totally amazed, and I'm telling people to "Hurry up and Buy" immediately. This movie is better then "Shaolin vs. Lama" seven times over...
Along Comes The Tiger (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I’m truly amazed; I never thought this movie would be like this. I feel that movie should have an alternative title called The Silent Killer from Canton. It would have added a sense where this movie is going. Also, I feel this movie is highly in the Shaw and Golden Harvest tradition.
10 Brothers Of Shaolin (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure There are many mistakes in this film: "You can- a killa two bird with a one stone." "He been hit with Chinese Karate". These are things you don't say in a kung fu movie. I do not recommend this film to no one.
Tiger Over Wall [3-Disc Set] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure [NOTE: This review refers to the Goose Boxer / Tiger Over Wall double feature DVD by Ground Zero U.S.] This movie is surprisingly good. I really did not expect this movie to be this good for the budget that was given to the producers to make this film. And the funny thing about my review of this film is that I originally bought this movie for Goose Boxer, and not this movie. By the way, Goose Boxer sucks hard. (A movie which is also featured on the DVD.) The only thing that was wrong with this film was that Hwang Jang Lee was actually the main character even though he was the bad guy. This movie is worth a watch despite other critic views. I’m really happy that I have this movie in my collection because the fight scenes in this movie are crazy fast; not only that but this movie has meaning.
The Bare Footed Kid (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Grab the Prozac quick! I'm still amazed that there is a movie out in this world offering so much depression. But besides that the martial arts in here is crazy cool; go Liu Chia-Liang, you are my favorite martial artist. What would become of this film if you did not exist? Overall, I liked this movie but I'm too happy to watch this movie again.
Stroke Of Death (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Don't get me wrong, this was a nice movie to watch. Great action sequences, but what's up with the movies ending? Oh man, it was like Courtney Love's emotional state when she has no more drugs. It was like Peter North's best recording, but he ran out of tape. Oh man what a way to end what I thought was going to be a great movie. Also, the audio sucks on this version. I'm really disappointed. Some people find this movie really awesome, I don't.
Invincible One (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure [Other people who] had written [positive reviews] and given this movie four stars is on serious narcotics. This movie sucks, please save your money. One of the worst Shaw Brothers movies I have ever seen.
The fight scenes were to slow, and the story was to boring to even have a good fight scene to go on...All in all the movie sucked hard.

Cat Vs. Rat (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure To me, I feel like this movie is missing the usual Liu Chia-Liang martial arts extravagancy. Or maybe the circumstances that he was going though at the time lead him to make an okay movie--not much of a classic. But I'll tell you this: the fighting is not so bad, but I needed to see more of it.

The Blazing Temple (product link) Martial Arts / Historical One of the best Joseph Kuo’s best, I must say. Also, this is a very peculiar Shaolin massacre movie and more of an elaborate written script more then I can say for Shaw Brothers’ “Shaolin Abbot”. Even though this was an okay martial arts film- the story alone breaks ground because this movie made me feel the emotional ride like no other kung fu movie. I am glad that I have this movie in my collection now. If you buy it, you should be too.
The Lady Assassin (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This is (in my opinion) one of the best directed martial art films of the Shaw repertoire that I have seen thus far, but as rating this movie for the martial arts, it is simply "not bad, not bad at all". The martial arts fight scenes were great--personally, I have seen better, but mind you, this is a keeper.
Hand Of Death [1973] [5-Movie Set] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Not so bad. The fight scene were okay--halfway decent--but most of all, the flying and jumping made it less believable. Other than that, it was a pretty good movie.

60 minutes of kung fu and 30 minutes of useless plot. Stupido!
Is this movie a comedy or a kung fu movie? I see many flaws in this film.
"You're a rat and a trap."
"Do you have any proof of his death." Said the antagonist. Ninja assassin reply's "Yea, I brought you his bottle."
A woman's husband dies and she asks the drunken kid "Please make me laugh, again." Drunken kid reply's "One dollar for an hour and 5 dollars for all day."
A girl gets raped by a co star of the film then she calls him nice then he jets.
The girl who was raped finds the rapist and then she feeds him.
At the final battle, the bad guy is trying to kill drunken kid with drum high hats; Then the rapist saves the day.
Oh, lastly, the drunken kid does not get drunk.
If this was a kung fu movie, I have evidence that it is not a good one. If it is a comedy, then it was a brilliant one. So if it is a comedy- four stars, because they did their job. But Video Asia has promoted is a martial artist film and it's horrible. Also, this is a spoof of Jackie Chan's Drunken Master and Sammo Hung's Spooky Encounter.
The Brave Archer And His Mate (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I am confused, but there are some nice fight scenes to watch, especially the ones with the frog style. Anyway, I believe that they should of left it at part three and called it a masterpiece trilogy. But NO, they have to mess it all up with this! The story is all over the place and I am not kidding. Buy at your own risk.
Too generous of a review. As with the rest of the movies, this is too confusing and we get the grating, annoying Fu Sheng instead of the Fu Sheng of "Heaven and Hell" and "Chinatown Kid."
Revenge Of The Shaolin Master [PanMedia] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure According to other reviews, I must say (in my own opinion) this is a classic. I've never seen anyone get their butts kicked over a bag of rice like this. Wow! The ambiance of this film is pretty gloomy, but the fighting scenes (and there are lots) gives it this weird dichotomy of entertainment. Not to be missed for all kung fu fans.

Boxer Rebellion (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure WOW! I was pleasantly surprised. I've learned about the history in an Asian course I was taking, and I must say that most of this movie is accurate. But what made this movie 5 stars (in my opinion) is the martial arts. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first 45 minutes of the movie was very slow, I must admit, but after that--man!

it was all right, I give it 4 and half because the beginning was slow. But it was enjoyable.
It was not as bad as zero stars but its not 4 star material either. It has a good cast with Chang Yi as the villain, and Ho Chung Tao ( Bruce Li ) as the Hero. It has entertainment value.

If you say you watch the movie 3 times, then why didn't you watch this movie 3 times, it's bad. "Contour" u gave 4 1/2 stars it's the same as 5. Don't hate man because your star happy & review goofy.
Prodigal Boxer (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Wow, I was pleasantly entertained. I am never really let down when I buy a Meng Fei film... If you don't buy this movie, you should not consider yourself a martial arts movie fanatic. A good movie to keep for your collection.
An old schooler like me, actually saw this film in one of my favorite grind houses back in the seventies. I agree with you, great film, and good fights starring Meng Fei as Fong Sai Yuk!

The film went over-budget and it resulted in a very zany story & some bad action sequences. The film is not good just because the last 10 minutes is exciting. For a reviewer 2 rate a movie like this w/ 3 stars is inaccurate & a disgrace 2 real true fans
I agree with you on this. My Lucky Stars is a mixed bag of peanuts. It has a lot of zany & odd moments but the fights at the end saved it from being trash. I agree it's not so bad at all.

Bro this movie is hoooot !! The action is intense and the fight scenes are sick. The plot added to the enjoyment of the movie, One of my new favorites and I have 150 of the best, rare, and hard to find old school flicks.You definately slept on this gem.
