The Host (product link) Horror / Thriller Pathetic attempt at some kind of horror film with slapstick comedic elements. Another Korean film with first rate production values and a story that makes no sense, creates no fear, and generates no compassion for any of the characters. Two of the worst "American actor cameos" ever... I can't go on. It is too depressing. It's like these people went to the Moe Howard School of Drama.
Time And Tide (product link) Triad / Action/Adventure Lots of noise, cool dudes and flashy shoot-em-up scenes. Okay if you go for high volume fast paced action films without a lot of soul. The filmmaker is trying to hard to be very "Tarantino".
Shower (product link) Drama / Art Slow at first but turns out to be a engaging, moving story. Works on one of the most common themes in Asian cinema, the changes in values between one generation and another. Good film!!
Riding Alone For Thousands Of Miles (product link) Drama Builds slowly at first but has a touching message and emotional conclusion. A story of the cost of alienation of family, suppressed emotions and opportunities lost.
Zatoichi: The Television Series Collection 1 [6-Disc Set] (product link) TV Shows/Movies / Martial Arts The [Tokyo Shock] prints are in very good condition and these TV shows match the production quality and charm of the film series. I am looking forward to the rest of the series becoming available.
